14 Relaxing Vacations to Dream About for Your Next Trip

"This famous French region invites visitors to lose themselves in vineyards and views of the Alps, and is celebrated for olive groves, pine forests, lavender fields, and wine grapes. Cities often visited while in the region include Nice, Marseille, the French Riviera and Avignon. For ultimate relaxation, settle into a lush countryside retreat such as the lavender-surrounded Coquillade Provence Resort & Spa." - Andrea Romano Andrea Romano Andrea Romano is a writer and editor in New York City. We did the Full Day Lavender Tour in Valensole and could not have been more pleased! It was the perfect way to spend the day outside of Aix En Provence and our tour guide Margot was absolutely fantastic! We started the day at a small cafe and lavender exhibition and learned about the process of making lavender while enjoying some treats. We then visited several gorgeous fields in the area which we had entirely to ourselves. The afternoon was spent with plenty of time for lunch in a quaint town in the Luberon with another stop by a lake to relax before returning by 6pm. Also the views along the drive are simply stunning! We highly recommend this small group tour.

A wonderful tour with François! We visited 2 chateaux in the morning and enjoyed some lovely wine tastings then we explored some of the Luberon villages (Roussillon & Gordes). It was a long day but totally worth it, our guide Francois was very knowledgeable!

I did a wonderful tour from Avignon to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Les Baux-de-Provence, and the Pont du Gard. It was an 8-person maximum tour with a small bus and, in the end, we were with 5 persons. The guide Martine was very very friendly and knew a lot. The one thing I would have changed is a bit more time in Les Baux. We had 30 minutes which I used to almost directly walk to the top. I could take a few photos but not really walk around there much or visit some shops in the town. As such, 45 minutes would be better

Our tour guide Emilie was the best! It was such a nice trip with her and we had a great time discovering Roussillon and the lavender fields. She told us a lot of stories and funny anecdotes about Provence and even showed us some classic french songs on the road:) would recommend the lavender tour with her a lot 🪻🪻

Our group toured with Thomas and Emanuele in Aix en Provence and Marseilles. It was absolutely wonderful! We learned a lot about the cities, and both guides were patient with our party, which included elderly and children. I highly recommend this company for tours in France.

My husband and I did two tours with A la Française Provence, one afternoon winery tour and one day tour of Arles and the luminaries. We had a great time on both tours. Both travel guides were very knowledgeable and dynamic. We learned more than we thought about the area.

Full Day Lavender Tour: The most stunning and incredible day!! Émilie was such an amazing guide and made it so fun and informative—a true expert! She even took us to some more secretive spots to enjoy the peaceful and untouched fields and views. Didn’t want to leave Luberon but c’est la vie;) Merci infiniment, Émilie et À la Française💜

Excellent half day tour with very informative commentary from our guide, Mathilde. Without access to a car this enabled us to see three great attractions, St Remy de Provence, Les Baux, and the Pont du Gard.
