This experience was a rather mixed one. I really wanted to like this hotel since it has a wonderful employment policy. The service and reception staff were exceptional. Very friendly and super helpful. I had asked for a room on a higher floor and they obliged without fuss. The location is also top, near the Mathallen (Food hall with loads of dining options). My main gripe is with the room itself. These days, most hotel rooms have a mini fridge and/or some sort of kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. This room had none. It was decorated sparsely, had nice colours and a really good view. But It felt more like a hostel room than a hotel room. The bedlinen was really basic, just two pillows and a thin duvet. Requesting more pillows is certainly possible. The bed could be more comfortably set up. It didn't feel inviting. The bed frame itself seemed to be built out of plywood as a platform which had a sort of divan built in. The mattress on top was thin but decent enough. There were no toiletries other than basic liquid hand soap, from a dispenser that you find usually at public toilets. The shower/toilet is also not heated, so floor tiles felt cool to the touch. There is ample hot water and decent water pressure. It was an acceptable experience, I was not uncomfortable, don't get me wrong but if you're looking for a 'hotel' experience, this won't cut it. It is a VERY VERY good hostel-style private room. The big windows are a real plus point, and made what was a small room brighter and nicer. Breakfast was so so, not much to choose from but fairly decent in taste. Standard eggs and bacon fare made fresh. Almost nothing except muesli for people on plant-based diet.
