Not so many options on the menu. Small portions with high price, especially the appetizer. The food tastes okay, but not very impressive. We added a steak for our pasta, but it was like $15 and very small and overly grilled with burnt smell. Also, there are lots of empty tables, but we still have to wait for half an hour.

We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the dining room. Fine dining with a beautiful view! Considering where you are had to give 5 stars. Service was quick being a buffet. No line to get seated, easy to get a window seat due to large room and lots of windows. Food was excellent yogurt&oatmeal had very healthy fixings to add. Scrambled eggs, potatoes, CRISPY bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast, muffins , pastry, toast. Lots of fresh fruits and berries. $21pp. Fair price point. Staff friendly and provide great service. Plenty of seating. Food was covered and didn’t want to open all the chaffing servers for pics.

We got the house salad, lentil burger, and pasta dish they had. Very happy with all the vegan options they had. The food was surprisingly good and would definitely come back here. Got a huckleberry Marg from here as well which didn’t quite taste like a margarita because there was no tequila but was still good

We went to the Ptarmigan Dining Hall for lunch as part of our Xanterra trip, and it was, by far, the worst food we've had. Most people on our trip disliked the food offered, and the service was average at best for a hotel of this type.

Came for lunch after hiking in some cold and rainy weather. Had wild mushroom cavatappi, elk brats, and hot cocoa. All were tasty and service was good. Prices typical for a hotel, but not outrageous. Nice if you can get a table by the window overlooking the lake and mountains.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere, views, service and food quality here. It really hit the spot after a long day of hiking.

Quick Summary Great views of the lake, cool ambiance in the dining room, and pretty good service. Food was decent, but low expectations because it is national park dining. Would try to avoid rush hour times (there is a wait due to limited staff, and you're more likely to get a window dining table if you arrive away from crowded times) Food- 3 stars Glacier burger- it's basically a picnic burger. Fries were decent. Bison chili burger- same as above. It's not fantastic, but nice to have a warm meal after a long day of hiking Service- 5 stars Waiters and host were very friendly. Just be prepared to wait during rush hour, due to limited staffing Ambiance- 5 stars Love the rustic and Swiss architecture at the Many Glacier Hotel. The dining room felt very grand with its high ceilings, high lamps and decor. Great views of the lake by the window side Bottom Line Great service, ambiance and views. Food is average, which is expected for national park dining

Dang you'd think that the grandest hotel/lodge in Glacier would also have some of the best food. Nope. My husband and I split the "pork belly" appetizer which was nothing more than one slice of bacon broken up into pieces over some sauerkraut. Seriously... My husband ordered the duck leg for himself, and what came out was the saddest looking duck I think I've ever seen...it was literally gray and limp. It was served over some lackluster mashed potatoes & steamed veggies with the tiniest smear of huckleberry sauce on the side. The duck might have been better had they at least tried to brush it with the huckleberry sauce, but alas it doesn't seem like the really cared to try to make the food any better than barely edible. I ordered the pasta primavera for myself, but they were out of the regular sauce for it, so they substituted what they said was a romesco sauce. What came out for me was also a pretty sad looking pasta, not very flavorful, with a watery bland tomato sauce that did not even remotely resemble a romesco sauce. The rolls they served with the meal were also bland....like how do you screw up dinner rolls? Anyway, we obvs won't be back. It was WAY overpriced for what you get. You'd be better off going to Nell's down the street at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. Most of the food we've had there has been decent and they definitely don't gouge you on the price.
