Google
These are the best chocolates we ever had. We come here regularly for over a decade. It’s a must-go place. Guests love it. Big bonbons, you could even half them for guests to taste more flavors. They also frequently have new flavors, but they keep the best ones always available. Top spot, great service!

Google
Puccini’s chocolate delicious, however their service has surpassed all my expectations. I sent a box of chocolates to my brother and sister in law but forgot to put the house number in the order. Excellent service from customer services Ivor. We have been going to Puccini’s for several years, it’s part of our visit to Amsterdam when my family is here.

I bought a large box of chocolates (around 24 pieces) as a gift for my family for €74… staff were very friendly and helpful

Google
Boaquets of cocoa sweets, treats, elxiers and art to be slowly nibbeled on as you savour the surrounding arquitecture and community in the hart of Europe's best preserved middle age cities. Cocoa and it trade has historic links to Amsterdam, developing economic networks during the 1700's.

The salesperson was friendly and the shop is pretty. The chocolates are very large and they lack finesse. Their tastes are all similar. They are good but disappointing if you compare them to French or Belgian chocolates. They are more like little pastries.

Google
The cafe is extremely cosy located in a very calm corner. I loved the vibes sitting outside or even inside. They’re coffee selection is super and the sweets are over delicious. Knowing that they have a chocolate place as well uplifts their level. The only downside (which is still explainable) the idea that u can’t work on ur laptop after 11, which I understand but not necessarily agree with. Staff are friendly and helpful. The chocolate store next the cafe has super delicious varieties of chocolates. Very nice for a gift specially with the neat packaging they do for you. { recommended }

Google
Can across Puccini Bomboni after our hotel host recommended the place. And all I can say is Wow was quite well priced for what you received. The lady behind the counter was really helpful and informative. Would highly recommend if you visit Amsterdam, and you have a sweet tooth?

Google
The service in this price range needs significant improvement. We bought 10 pieces of chocolate, but the sales assistant—who was quite rude—refused to let us try anything else we were interested in. This experience did not meet our expectations. 07.26.2025

Yelp
Great chocolates. Kind of tough if you have a nut allergy, but still doable. There is a seating area across the street unrelated to this establishment if you want to eat the chocolate there.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place as I was going for a stroll. High quality chocolate which bumped up my stroll to another level. My favorite was the marzipan it reminds me of a Mexican favorite (Mazapán). Get your chocolate fix in this conveniently located shop.

Yelp
Love this place! I'm writing this review as I am traveling in Brussels (getting really disappointed in the chocolates that I got today). Totally miss the chocolate at Puccini. I had the hazelnut ganache and it was very good. The chocolate was smooth and just mildly sweet. I prefer this place over any other places I have tried so far in Brussels. I cannot wait to be back and get more to bring home to my friends!

Yelp
These chocolates are exquisite!!! They have such unique flavors and the lady working was so helpful with recommendations! This place was one of the top 10 chocolatiers by National Geographic so naturally I had to try them!!! Thank goodness I don't live near or I'd be a very regular visitor!!!

Yelp
EXCELLENT CHOCOLATIER! A MUST TRY! Navigating our way back to our hotel near Leidsplein, we were walking around the little streets and alleyways and came across this chocolate shop by luck. We walked in out of curiosity and with no intent to purchase. After chatting with the proprietor and giving me a sample, I was sold and had to purchase chocolates for myself. The chocolate was nothing like I've tasted before, specifically Dutch chocolate. I am all too familiar with Swiss, Belgian, French and American. There was a richness, not overly sweet taste to their artisan chocolates. The ganache was perfectly creamy--smooth taste, melting in your mouth. This was probably the best chocolate I've eaten in a long time. My personal favorite were the plum and the cranberry chocolates, both dark. The dried fruit is chopped and mixed into the ganache--every bite had a bit of fruit. Each piece was 3€, but it was worth it! I wished I could bring a box home with me (to the U.S), but I was in the middle of my trip and didn't want to risk the chance of it melting at my next destination. So all I have is the memory. Sadly, the only ship within the EU and so even shipment to the U.S. is not possible. Chocolate: 5 Service: 5 Ambience: 5

Yelp
Bottom line: While Puccini Bomboni's bonbons aren't the best chocolates I've ever had, they certainly sit near the top of my list. Puccini Bomboni regularly tops various rankings of the best chocolatiers in Amsterdam. I visited this location on my final day in Amsterdam and purchased six truffles--vanilla, marzipan, cranberry, raspberry, walnut, and milk almond. Of the three truffles I tried (vanilla, cranberry, and raspberry), all were delicious, and one (the cranberry) was downright amazing!

Yelp
Most tourists in Amsterdam have no know clue how good Dutch chocolate really is. Belgium may be known as the the Capital of Chocolate but in Holland you will find a few Dutch chocolate shops here that match quality, reputation and price. Puccini Bonboni chocolate is just simply fabulous! For example, the Dutch chocolate truffles or rum gourmet chocolate will melt right in your mouth. I never ate chocolate until I moved to Europe. Not sure if that is a good thing or bad thing...:) My Dutch man bought a box of chocolates here to celebrate our anniversary. This Dutch chocolate shop is on my list for favorites for the most popular and best chocolates in Amsterdam. After eating a box of chocolates here, I now know why their chocolates is so sensational. They have plenty of chocolate goodies to tempt the palate and swirl the scale. They have two locations in Amsterdam on Staalstraat 17 and Singel 184 Amsterdam.

Yelp
I bumped into this store by chance while taking a stroll through Rembrandtplein. I had read about it when doing research about where to buy fine quality chocolates in Amsterdam. We also went to the store in Centrum as it was closer to us on departure day. The ladies attending were very kind and patient as we explored the beautifully crafted chocolate pieces. We purchases a small box that holds 7-8 pieces and a bag with dark chocolate sticks. The quality is indeed amazing. For chocolate lovers, this is worth every cent in my opinion. My favorite is the bar with pecans and soft chocolate inside (like a ganache). Insanely. Heavenly. Orgasmic. (These chocolates are not cheap, so be prepared to drop some cash.) Enjoy!

Yelp
In case you didn't know... I'm a unicorn.... And unicorns LOVE chocolate. In fact, our diet only consists of rainbows, chocolate and champagne. So you can imagine how much my magic horn was shining when I randomly stumbled across Puccini Bomboni! It's in some random small street where unicorns don't usually frolic, but I feel it necessary to inform all my other unicorn friends to check out this place!! As you enter this world of chocolate, you will be immediately sucked into the choco-orgy, to which there is no point of return. The great thing that unicorns really love is that you have classic chocolate flavors and then other weird ass flavors like green tea or lemon grass truffles. I had those two and some kind of prune marzipan (you can NEVER go wrong with marzipan) and while the flavors weren't enough to make gooey rainbows spew out of my uni-horn, I will definitely come frolic 'round these parts again to feed my lusty snout with uniporn chocolate. NEEEEEHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Yelp
In terms of creativity and absolute deliciousness (is that a word?) probably the best chocolate we had between the dozen or so chocolatiers we visited in Amsterdam and Brussels... Let's say a tie for first...

Yelp
Absolutely the best chocolate in Amsterdam (and maybe in NL...?)! This place is perfect for chocolate presents or just to treat yourself every once in a while. They have a lot of variety in taste so I bet there is something for everyone. The only reason this place gets 4 stars instead of 5: their chocolates are quite big. I would like to see them smaller so you can eat more different ones. ;-) Also, it's quite pricy, but hey, it's the best chocolate in Amsterdam.

Yelp
Great looking selection and they were rather large chocolates. I only give 5 stars if the product and the service was amazing. Though the woman was nice enough, I felt like there was room for a little more pleasantness. I never like to feel like I'm bothering someone when I buy their product. Great neighborhood to walk around in as well.

Yelp
Stopped by here on our walk from one restaurant to another and smelled the delicious chocolate through the window. They had tons of options for little bon bins and truffles. They were very tasty and a nice afternoon sweet snack. The biggest complaint is that it's pretty overpriced for what you get. Each truffle is between €2-4, which is fine if you're only having one, but any more just isn't worth it.

Yelp
Umm...tasty. Very tasty. And I now have 50 Euros worth of it to prove it. When you walk in, the chocolate smell just hits your nose...and it doesn't leave it. Considering that we walked through De Wallen's trash to get over here during a break, it was a little pocket of heaven tucked away. If you're confused or just can't decide, the nice chocolatier will do a selection for you. Enjoy!

Yelp
I'm lowering the stars I'm giving this business since the woman in the shop closes her store 10-15 minutes early sometimes, which really blows when you're heading out of town and relying on being able to pick up a gift box of chocolates for your hosts before leaving. Impervious to my desperation, she refused to open her doors even though I was there before closing time, so I had to get some chocolates from a local gas station. Not cool man, not cool.

Yelp
Let me brag about my Dutch-Indonesian mother. She's 85 now, but when she was younger she was god's gift to the wadjan (wok). Her crispy fried chicken was one of her signature dishes. She rubbed the chicken thighs with a sweet-sour paste of tamarind, a fruit from the tamarind tree, before frying them. Another dish to die for: ajam opor, chicken in coconut milk flavoured with sereh (lemon grass). Such a refined taste, ideal to match with one of her vegetable dishes with a touch of ginger. Tamarind, sereh and ginger are essential to the cuisine that Dutch Indonesians brought to The Netherlands. They are linked to a period they refer to as tempo doeloe, those good old days. Looking for the ultimate finale of a Dutch-Indonesian dinner? Make it coffee with a selection - tamarind, sereh, ginger - of Puccini chocolates, the most prestigious chocolates in town and handmade by one of the 10 best chocolatiers of the world according to National Geographic.

Yelp
My favorites: caramel, cinnamon, coffee, ginger, honey, raspberry, and tea. Yes, they're expensive, but the bombons are huge and make a really impressive gift.

Yelp
As with the other reviews, we bumped into this place during our stroll through the streets. I am a huge chocolate fan but my girlfriend is indifferent. She walked in and her eyes lit up. Be ready to drop some serious cash for there product but also be prepared to be amazed. I tried the honey and chocolate while she had the marzipan. Wow. If that does not bring on the sense of adventure, who really mixes chocolate with honey, then try the rhubarb or mint. Everyone who loves chocolate needs to add this to their list of things to visit in amsterdam.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying, I would not have been nearly as disappointed were this place not hyped up to be more than it is and if they hadn't compared themselves to the worlds top chocolatiers. For one, the size of these bombons are ridiculous. Make it bite sized as any self respecting chocolatier would. Most of these bombons were big enough to serve three people. Secondly, the chocolate outside is claimed to be 70 percent chocolate. Not sure what that meant but the chocolate was far too sweet, even for a lover of sweets. I love chocolate and had high expectations for the taste, again by Puccini's own catergorization of their chocolate being as good as the top chocolatiers in the world. I have had Valrhona, Pierre Marcolini, Le Maison du Chocolat, Neuhaus, among many many more. There is a certain level of art and understanding to make world class chocolate. Having bought the biggest box from here with 20 different bombons for 55 euros, I can say I gave Puccini's a more than fair chance. Every flavor of bombon has an overly creamy and sweet center, somewhat lacking in the flavor they are said to be. The marzipan filled ones were the saving grace. Most chocolatiers make the center of the chocolates with a chocolate/ganache flavored infusion, not massive amounts of cream. I understand this is a different recipe but that simply doesn't qualify it as good. To summarize my complaints: the chocolates are too big (quantity doesn't make up for the quality), the chocolate itself is too sweet and not tasty, the filling is overly sweet, creamy and honestly inedible, and for the product produced here it is far too expensive. I do not recommend this to people who appreciate truly good chocolate aside from the marizpan filled bombons! Better off making the 3 hour drive to Brussels and visiting the true top chocolatiers in the world.

Yelp
I'm a big chocolate fan and found this place to be average as far as chocolate specialists go and the American-sized bonbons over do what should be (in my opinion) a flavor experience best handled with smaller bonbons. Otherwise it's just calories. Anyway, nice place to shop but not worth a special visit.
