Google
Puccini Restaurant, what a pleasant surprise! Our server, Hayden M, was a fun and professional riot! He was quick, attentive and enjoyable to interact with throughout the meal. Excellent service. We'd gladly dine in his section again anytime. For $40 (without tip included), we had the regular Chicago pizza, individual pizza al formaggio, side of fries and two soft drinks. I'm not a pizza fan and honestly loved the entire dinner! The pizzas were wood-fired thin crust with a sweet sauce and the perfect amount of cheese and toppings. The atmosphere is so-so. The home was once used as a military hospital and could use a renovation and some love. Historically, it may not be possible, but it feels stagnant. Flies were everywhere throughout the meal, but with staff opening the doors constantly for indoor/outdoor dining, that's difficult to manage. Photos online made the Pizza Cellar appear really special however we were seated in a room right off the front door and it was underwhelming. Additionally, the hostess could use assistance and training. We stood there for quite some time without acknowledgement and that started the meal on a negative foot. Thankfully, Hayden's positive service and our delicious dinner turned things around. Thank you Puccini for a tasty pizza dinner tonight!

Google
The historic building was very cool! We ordered the crab dip with no cheese (but they put cheese on it anyways) and I got a custom pizza with 3 toppings and they forgot to add the pepperoni. We didn't complain or say something because we aren't that kind of people. We ended up letting the server know at the end because I think she could read our disappointment. She was friendly and attentive (idk what happened with the food). I took off a star because of both incorrect order and the table felt sticky and icky. Give it a try!

Google
Service was okay. Waiter was nice but never refilled drinks or really paid us any mind. Food was lackluster. Meatballs were best part but nothing spectacular. Hamburger was a frozen dry patty and fries tasted refried. Parking sucked but historical building was really cool and had a lot of character. Atmosphere is great but food wasn’t.

Google
The atmosphere was wonderful, and the local patrons were very welcoming. Excellent food and great service all combined made for a great dining experience. I waited till I could have time to enjoy myself before visiting while in town.

Google
My wife and I absolutely loved this place! The building has an amazing history and looks really cool. On top of that, the food was delicious. The wood-fired pizza was terrific; fresh ingredients really make a difference. Excellent local beers on tap and you can get a flight to sample them. If you're anywhere nearby or just passing through, you owe it to yourself to check this place out. You're gonna love it!

Google
Delicious wood fire pizza in a historic location. Could accommodate large parties in private rooms. Chicago and Buffalo chicken pizzas were delicious!

Google
I got a Caesar salad which was very good. The chicken Marsalis was excellent. Large menu- pizza, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, entrees etc. Service was first rate.

Yelp
Went here for Father's Day and this place was amazing! The service was good and food top notch in taste/quality. Gem place while visiting here. We had: - Crab dip with cheese - Chicken Marsala - Crab soup - Bee cake

Yelp
We had a really good lunch at Puccini yesterday. We had only two complaints; one was that smoking is permitted on the patio and the other is the noise. Not much they can do about that, though, as a highway and a main road box the property in. The outside patio was pretty busy but Amber, our server, kept things moving. She was attentive and timely. I ordered the caprese salad, which was delicious except for the balsamic glaze being laid on a little too heavily. The man had the meatball sub with the chips (which were fantastic). He said it was really good. A nice spot for a good meal.

Yelp
One of my all-time favorite places to have drinks and food due to the history of the building, the atmosphere, and their solid food and drink menus. I came in a couple of weeks back to have dinner with my girlfriend while staying at Rocky Gap Resort for a weekend birthday trip since it's so close to the resort. I've been coming here for a long time but I haven't ate here for many years so I was excited to take my girlfriend here and enjoy the experience with her. The parking lot was packed as usual and as we walked in I noticed that the outside dining area was too. I asked for us to be seated outside but the waitress said there wasn't any tables available and the dining room was full as well. So she sent us downstairs which was fine with me because I have always loved the atmosphere down there. We grabbed a table but the waitresses and the bartenders didn't even acknowledge us for a good 10-15 minutes which is unacceptable to be honest. I get it you were busy but at bare minimum welcome us, bring us menus, take our drink order, and have the bartender bring it over if you're that busy. The bar literally had two people sitting at it with two bartenders talking about who was gonna go home early lol The waitress we did have was very nice and she was pretty quick with getting us our drinks and food. We ordered: - Margherita Pizza (2/5) - Caesar Salad (5/5) - Tuscan Chicken over Linguine (5/5) I've ate her many times over the years and I always loved their pizza but not this time. Maybe my palate has changed since then or maybe their pizza just wasn't as good as my memories of eating here. I will say that wood fired Neapolitan pizza is my least favorite because it's so sloppy and floppy and the undercarriage is never done well enough plus there was barely any cheese on it and it lacked any flavor whatsoever. It was edible but not good. I'd give it a 3.7 and that's being generous. Now for the Tuscan chicken over linguine, that's a whole other story. It was fantastic. The chicken was so tender and juicy, the pasta was cooked perfect, and the veggies blended so well with the creamy sauce. The dish was like being in umami heaven. Highly recommended! The Caesar salad was great too. We also had a beer to enjoy with our food. Girlfriend: AUSTIN EASTCIDERS PRICKLY PEAR-CIDER AUSTIN, TX 5% ABV N/A IBU 6.50 (5/5) Me: --STELLA ARTOIS-- LAGER LEUVEN, BELGIUM 5.2% ABV N/A IBU 6.25 (5/5) She was obsessed with her cider lol She said it was the best one she has ever had. I always drink craft beers but I hadn't had a Stella for a hot minute so I decided to get one. Tasty! All in all the experience was great and I am glad I finally got the chance to take her here even though the pizza sucked. Happy Eating :)

Yelp
Their food is excellent! I like the buffalo chicken wood-fired pizza. My family and I have enjoyed other dishes there as well, and they were all delicious!

Yelp
First visit for myself and my aunt from out of town. The MOST EXCELLENT food! A+++ on the Italian... the Lasagna was the BEST i've had in ages! Customer service was POINT ON and our waiter Hayden ( not 100 on spelling) definitely deserves a raise! He was the sweetest with my aunt, personable and made the meal even better if possible! Thanks for a GREAT dining experience!!! Ps-The CRAB DIP is TO DIE FOR!!!

Yelp
We've driven past this restaurant at least 50 times on our travels, but never stopped. We are glad we finally tried it. There's a ton of history, if that interests you. We stopped in on a Saturday evening and it was very busy. The parking lot is a little funky, but we were able to find a spot. When we walked in, we were greeted immediately and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside - we did not have a preference. The kind lady sent us down to the cellar where we were seated. Cellar is the perfect description - in a good way. Service was spot on. We ordered a wedge salad, pickle pizza, and buffalo chicken pizza. The wedge salad was good - I wish it had a little drizzle of balsamic to cut through the blue cheese, but I love blue cheese, so it was good as is. The pizza was the bomb. We all agreed that both were delicious, but the pickle pizza was our favorite. Great dill flavor with plenty of pickles and cheese. It's definitely an old school vibe inside - it appeared as though there were multiple places for seating. Cool place with great service and delicious food. We won't drive by next time.

Yelp
The servers were kind and nice the atmosphere felt old world and going to a neighbors house for dinner. The food fell flat. I ordered a simple personal cheese pizza and was let down. The sauce is thin runny and definitely tastes like those 80s make at home pizza kits from Krogers. The cheese was nice but couldn't make up for the "wood fired" dough being chewy and unimpressive with no bite. Could definitely been left in the oven a bit longer and cut in better portions. I didn't try anything else on the menu as I was drawn in by the pizza but this one is a skip from me. Plenty of parking and a nice outside dining area.

Yelp
I stopped here for lunch with a coworker. He swears by the wood fired pizza here, but I was looking for a low carb option and decided to try the wings. They came out hot and fresh, but not as crispy as I prefer. Still, they were tasty and hit the spot for lunch. The order came with 8 wings and only cost $8, so I thought it was a pretty good deal. My coworker ordered the hot chicken pizza which looked and smelled amazing. I would be interested in trying the pizza on my next visit. The restaurant itself is an old, historic building. The layout is rather interesting with different rooms at varying heights, requiring patrons to step up or down accordingly. The menu has a story with some of the history or the place, which I enjoyed reading. Our server was friendly and polite, no complaints there. Food was brought out about 10 minutes after ordering and they had no problem splitting the check for us.

Yelp
We visited a couple of times. Crab dip appetizer was delicious and the pizza and lasagna are great! The servers were attentive and we had our food quickly.

Yelp
4 of us for dinner after biking all day. Being hangry that Puccini pizza was spot the heck on! We each got the Detroit pizza. Wow, that pizza was fire. Crust crispy at the handle but floppy in the middle which is expected when you get pepperoni, sausage, ham and mushrooms. We also had the Ravioli with Ala-vodka sauce & Chicken Parm. Both dishes also, fire. Guinness was flowing and their cider was good. We will hit Puccini's when we travel to Wisp this winter.

Yelp
Service as slow as molasses on a winter day... Took them 1.5 hours to cook us two pizzas and one sandwich. Our waitress only checked on us twice during the cooking time. Food came out cold so the waitress obviously was more concerned about socializing than doing her job.
google avatar

Sharon P.

Yelp
Margarita pizza: Really. Zero flavor from the crust to the rubber cheese... just the worst. Service was slow for only two tables. Green pepper soup was good, needed to be warmed. But the cream of crab soup... even came with a couple of shells. Over all: one and done.
google avatar

Valerie G.

Yelp
We were visiting the area and our hotel recommended this place. We had a nice table outside because the weather was amazing. Our service was a little slow and it took about 20 mins for the appetizer to come out. I forgot to take any photos of the food! We had the crab dip, appetizer, I was expecting more with that. But the flatbread it was served with was really good. I had the barbecue pizza and it was amazing. my husband had the chicken Parmesan and again that was delicious as well. The food was great and the prices were not bad at all. We even got dessert to bring home and the total for everything was around $100 with tip.

Yelp
Puccini's used to be our favorite restaurant stop anytime we traveled from MD to WV. We stopped by the other day and were completely disappointed by their pizza. I don't know what have they done to the recipe but it was not what it used to be. This time it tasted like a stale flatbread bought from the store and reheated in the oven. No chewiness, the sauce was not tasty either. Very disappointed. Sadly we have to find a different food stop now!

Yelp
The best pizza in Cumberland on Ali Ghan Rd and my favorite place to eat outdoors. The outdoor balcony is 100% dog friendly. I love the woodfired pizza. Warning you will be fighting over the last slice of pizza, and the never have leftovers kind of pizza. They have my favorite cakes here tiramisu, bee sting cake and Italian love cake (It lives up to its name). The specialty pizzas are the best they have unique combinations that just work. Great selection of tap beer enough choices to keep everyone happy. They have happy hour on Friday only from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Came in very late on a Sunday night. They could not be more welcoming after a long day of travel. Dill pickle pizza, chicken Marsala, stuffed shells and chicken parm all very good and obviously fresh made. The option for veggies instead of pasta was great! Service was amazing!
google avatar

Suzan H.

Yelp
Excellent friendly enthusiast server! Jenny!! Pizza was superb the way it should be. Prices are reasonable and offers good variety.
google avatar

Liberty W.

Yelp
The service has been excellent both times we visited which is such a treat in today's world of servers not caring about the service they provide. I had a Bloody Mary at one of the visits that was awesome. We got pizza and pasta and both were good. We will definitely go back.
google avatar

Will M.

Yelp
Had an amazing burger, that was recommended along with some of the best coleslaw that I have had in quite awhile. Staff was friendly, service fast and a great atmosphere. I would return as soon as I can! Prices very resonable.

Aaron Y.

Yelp
Very good food and nice location! Pizza is good and the salads. Little pricey for some food but not bad for overall night out of two people!
google avatar

Lee Z.

Yelp
The atmosphere had a casual, even in main dining. The staff, Alyssa, was phenomenal. She was on point with recommendations of items from the menu, follow-ups, and personable. Her customer service was outstanding. The cream of crab soup was tasty and not too thick. The chicken wings were fresh, crispy, and had great seasonings. I tried the Buffalo wings and garlic parmasean. A good experience.

Nancy S.

Yelp
Puccini's has one of my favorite pizza. The honey bbq chicken is a wonderful blend of sweet and tart flavors. The dough/crust is thin and baked to a perfect crispness. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The Amish is really cool. The history of this place and the way they have maintained the original structures and looks is great. This is my go to in the Cumberland area.
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! The servers were happy and upbeat. There was room for our stroller and a high chair, not crowded at all. The bathrooms had a baby changing station (we used it! Thank you!). The historical aspect of the building radiated everywhere, drawing you into learning more! The menu had the history too. We ordered the crab dip (10/10), Chicago pizza (8/10 only because I should have asked for fewer onions), chicken Alfredo pizza (9/10), kids pepperoni pizza (10/10) (same size as adult individual pizza!), and chicken Parmesan (9/10). Cold beer! Loved this place and wish we didn't live 10 hours away!

Yelp
We came here for dinner on a drive from NC to Somerset. The building is beautiful and the outdoor patio was big. Hostess looked a bit overwhelmed but friendly. After a 30-minute wait, we were seated. We ordered our drinks and waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. Liz, our waitress, was friendly and polite. It took forever to get our food. I got a side salad with their homemade balsamic dressing which was sweet. It was ok. My son got the chicken Cesar. The dressing was again, sweet. Odd. I got the veggie pizza which was undercooked. My son got the garlic breadsticks which took forever to come out as our appetizer. It was a cheese pizza with marinara on the side. I looked it up again. It said sticks. Confusing. But it tasted good. Meh. My son had the penne pizza which had a few noodles on it. It was a solid meh.

Liz C.

Yelp
The service was good. We were on the patio so there was a traffic noise which made it hard for our waitress to hear our order. I ordered a dry martini but got a dirty one instead. I did return it and eventually got what I ordered. Food was okay Crab dip was meh. Salad was good but a few pieces of lettuce were past their prime. Eggplant Parm was okay, their Marinara sauce was pretty bland. Shrimp scampi was just okay, lacking in flavor. It was obvious our waitress didn't know anything about mixed drinks. The restaurant needs to do better with training. We were just in town for one night but I wouldn't go back if we pass through again.

Leah D.

Yelp
Absolutely love this restaurant. Myself, boyfriend, and family will always choose puccinis. Their wood fired pizza is excellent. I usually get the individual Buffalo chicken pizza with ranch as the base instead of the bleu cheese. Their garlic cheese breadsticks are so good!

Jenelle S.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere inside of the restaurant and there's a beautiful outdoor seating area as well. The food is really delicious and the service is superb! Puccini definitely exceeded my expectations!
google avatar

Cirstin R.

Yelp
Everything was excellent! We had 6 in our party and got apps, drinks from the bar, 6 entrees, and dessert and it was all phenomenal! Our waitress was really good too! I told her to just pick my wines for the wine flight and she chose great ones! We may go back tonight before heading back to WV!
google avatar

Yelp
Okay service, the house is old and was decorated for Christmas so my daughter and I enjoyed the ambiance. The bruschetta was delicious, as I wasn't that hungry I was glad it was a small portion but it was a small portion. The meal exceeded my expectations overall, was never offered dessert. I went to the bathroom when I came back check was on the table.

Lorie B.

Yelp
Great service. Good food. Crab dip is great. No complaints from a party of 12 who have come three times pre-Christmas.
google avatar

Cori W.

Yelp
Hubs and I went here on a Friday night on our way to Ohio. The service was friendly and fast. Nice atmosphere and it was quite busy when we got there around 7. We started with the zucchini fries. They were hot, crispy and salty. My hubs who doesn't really like zucchini loved them. It was hard to stop eating them. I was intrigued by the dill pickle pizza and asked the server about it. She declared it her favorite pizza there. Sold!! I ordered it. My hubs ordered the Chicago pizza. The pizza dill pickle pizza was delicious. Just the right amount of of pickles and dill. It was amazing. Hubs enjoyed his Chicago style. We would definitely go again. Great experience.

Yelp
Unplanned stop and well worth it. Outdoor, pet friendly seating, good beer & wine list. Extensive menu and delicious food. Pleasant, welcoming and happy staff. A+ to our server Liz! Great place, we will be back

Yelp
We always go when we are in Cumberland at RockyGap. Food, service and prices are wonderful.

Monica S.

Yelp
I get it...it's one of the few restaurants of its kind in the area. But I felt the negatives outweighed the positives. Positives first: 1) We had a great server and the hostess staff seemed fairly accommodating; 2) We were told most of what we ordered was made in-house from scratch (ex., marinara sauce, balsamic vinaigrette); 3) Restaurant is housed in a historic building, which was both a positive and a negative. Negatives IMHO: 1) While the restaurant was very accessible from the highway, parking was a bit of a nightmare; 2) The seating both inside and out was kind of funky and disjointed; 3) I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and while the marinara sauce may have been homemade, I felt it lacked flavor. Overall experience was underwhelmed.
google avatar

Kameran H.

Yelp
Easily the best cream of crab soup ever anywhere. Service is always good. Margaritas are always good.

Yelp
Up the road a couple of miles from downtown Cumberland, Puccini's is a fun restaurant with good food. I sat at the bar for quite a while as my gf gave a talk in a room upstairs. As I sat at the bar and chatted with other diners, I was pleased to see the good draft list. The servers were all nice and checked me for refills or food options. The small (in name only as it was very generous) Caesar salad was delicious and I liked that anchovies were optional but not extra. Later I ordered a plain cheese pizza, my test of a pizza is a basic cheese since if you can't make that pie then it's downhill from there. We happily devoured the pie. The rooms looked nice and they had upstairs seating for private parties or events. The outdoor seating looked fine but it was too muggy for me. If we're passing through the area again, we'll stop for the good food and service.
google avatar

Jackson V.

Yelp
I liked the pizza because i was coming home from rocky gap camping and i got pizza and then i ate it and the service was good.

Yelp
wonderful experience with Puccini . We had dinner and lunch next day there. Pizza was great and fresh.

Yelp
A restaurant with history and okay food. Parking can be difficult if you want to park at the front. It is tight but if you don't mind walking an extra 200 feet then that isn't bad. This is an old house with a restaurant on the main floor and the basement. We didn't hit the basement on this trip. The atmosphere could be improved a little more. As for the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. As it was lunch, I tried the Puccini Paninno and my wife had the Haddock. We each got onion rings. The rings weren't bad, though my wife thought were a little greasy. The haddock was okay and my wife rated it a 6/10 on her scale which is close to what I feel about my sandwich. The Panino was supposed to have Genoa salami, capicola ham, and pepperoni, but I honestly noticed only one meat which was the capicola. We were left with an "eh" feeling about the meal. If we travel on I68 and need a lunch sometime we may stop for the pizza. Naturally, I'll have to try the Margharita pizza to test their pizza abilities. Wood fired brick ovens, if done right, should produce great pizza.

Yelp
On the way to Philadelphia, dinner stop, recommended by friends. Local restaurant, close to the freeway exit. Food: the pasta was good. But soup and salad were not good. Seating: 10-12 tables, small place. Little Dark. Parking available. Service: good, quick. The server was helpful. If you don't find other restaurants nearby then can go. I suggest ordering only pasta.
google avatar

Valerie A. R.

Yelp
Very good food. I had the Turkey pesto sandwich. I added bacon. It was perfect. I actually used the spicy Mayo sauce from the zucchini fries and it went well with the sandwich and fries. The mozzarella sticks and the zucchini fries were really good too. Great service.

Yelp
Stayed close by and found this place for a group dinner. They handle our large party perfectly, service was excellent all night. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and I was more than satisfied with mine. Shared the crab dip for an appetizer and it was pretty tasty. My half wedge salad was huge, simple but very good. Ordered the chicken parm for my entree and it was a large portion. A huge fried, cheese topped chicken breast served with linguine & Bolognese sauce filled with meat. For dessert, the red velvet cake and tiramisu were good. Would definitely come here again when in the area.
google avatar

Amir P.

Yelp
The dill pickle pizza (yes! True!), eggplant parmigiana were so good. The beer collection as well as the wine flight were also great! The indoor vibe and pizza basement are remarkable! Definitely coming back.

Erin R.

Yelp
Place looked nice and food looked great!! But waitresses wouldn't even acknowledge us, after 10 minutes and several pass bys we just left. Bummed pizza sounded great.

Ray M.

Yelp
Best wood oven pizza anywhere. Historic building with lots of civil way stories. Dine in or outside. Carryout on the way home never disappoints.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Great service. Friendly and on point. Offered great suggestions. Seating outside was comfortable on a hot day. Food was amazing and timely. Drinks were refreshing and dessert was delicious! Ooey Gooey cake topped it off!

Yelp
Found this hidden gem while on a weekend getaway! Pro's -Plenty of parking as they have two lots one in the front and one in the back -Excellent customer service! Our server was very attentive and friendly -Restaurant is set up like a little house. Each room has a few tables within. -So many food choices! Food was served pipping hot! The wood fire pizza was delicious and cooked perfectly! -Outdoor seating available -COVID safe. Masks worn by servers and social distancing tables Con's -Couple of flies flying around really bugged us -Decor was a little outdated Will definitely visit again when in the area!

Yelp
Saturday night. One and a half hour wait for food after we ordered. Ordered the zucchini fries...very greasy and mostly batter...but tasty...would not order again. I ordered the chicken Marsala...very mid and they gave me the wrong pasta on my order...couldn't finish because the chicken was undercooked (I would recommend that they hammer it flat in the traditional method for more even cooking). My wife's chicken Alfredo was decent. Also ordered pizza to go when they delivered our entrees. They got the pizza order wrong and had to remake it. I will say that the best thing in the menu is the wood fired pizza...I should have gone only with that to begin with. The waitress was over worked...the kitchen was ridiculously behind. We left a 20% tip for her ($14) in spite of our experience. They actually charged us $3.46 for a Togo box for our pizza...and a $2.26 for using a credit card on a $68 meal. In the future, I will only get the pizza to go.

Yelp
Great cheese bread appetizer The shrimp pasta and pizza were good And you can top it off with bee sting cake Service was a little slow but nice And the old place with small rooms is charming
