"This huge property comprising two towers—the River Wing and the Grand Tower—showcases Huangpu River views from its position by the riverside promenade. The Grand Tower, designed by New York–based Kohn Pedersen Fox, features 375 rooms and suites, while the more classic River Wing has 577 rooms. High-style restaurants and bars sit between the two. Rooms have crystal chandeliers and a mural of Chinese flowers above the bed. The Gallery, in the Grand Tower, exhibits paintings and sculptures from up-and-coming artists, which rotate each quarter."

One of the most enchanting hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived at Pudong Shangri-La, I was welcomed with elegance and warmth. The view of The Bund from my room was simply breathtaking — a perfect blend of old Shanghai charm and modern skyline beauty. The service was world-class, every staff member went above and beyond to ensure my stay was perfect. The breakfast buffet at Yi Café was a highlight — so many global flavors, all fresh and beautifully presented. After a day of exploring the city, returning to the calm serenity of the hotel felt like coming home. If you’re visiting Shanghai and looking for a place that captures both luxury and soul — this is it. I would return again and again without hesitation.

The location of the hotel is good close proximity to Shanghai tower, Breakfast provided is very good, Room was comfortable and had a fabulous view of the river and city. Worth choosing a Club Access room.||Disliked · The issue I have, is one I find in all non English speaking countries, hotels want international travelers but they continually fall down when employing staff for front of house positions who have little or poor English understanding. In the case of Shangri-La most staff I interacted with had no English understanding and I found myself having to walk around and find an employee who understood english. Aside from this I would stay again

This hotel can easily be counted among the Top 5 hotels in Shanghai in terms of location. It’s the Shangri-La Hotel — the one you always see when looking across the Bund towards the Pudong skyline. The location is outstanding. Just across the street is the massive IFC Mall, which houses nearly every luxury brand you can imagine. The mall is directly connected to Line 2 of the metro, making it very convenient to get anywhere in the city. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and decorated in a classic style, which made my stay very pleasant. The view from the room was absolutely stunning and unforgettable. On the downside, most of the staff had difficulty communicating in English. Only a few were able to speak English, so conversations were sometimes challenging. Also, the food at the first-floor lobby lounge was not very good. Still, thanks to the unbeatable location and the incredible view, I would definitely consider staying here again on my next visit to Shanghai. Overall, a very satisfying hotel experience.

Stayed for a week in a Pearl Bund View Suite - Exceptional room, panoramic views of the bund, spacious and spotlessly clean. The location was perfect, close to everything, walking distance to river and restaurants. Lovely, positive, helpful staff, flawless service. Frequent traveller and this trip rated with the best I've ever had. I have been to China many years ago, but this was my first visit to Shanghai, beautiful city, definitley recommend a visit, one of the best trips I've had. I felt safe and welcome at all times. Zero hesitation in recommending Shanghai for a visit with family and especially this hotel.

Convenient hotel location. There is a subway nearby that goes directly to the airport. You can save on transfers. The rooms in one tower are a bit outdated, while the other has new renovations. The difference is not very significant. Very good breakfast. There is a swimming pool with a depth of 1.2 meters. A swimming cap is mandatory. I was satisfied with everything except the concierge service: some packages from Taobao were accepted by the hotel representative but never reached my room. A week-long investigation into "where are my goods" led to nothing. If you don't plan to order a lot during your trip, you can't find a better option in this area. I decided for myself that next time I will stay with competitors. It's still important for me that delivered and accepted by the hotel orders don't go missing.

It was our very first stay at the Pudong Shangri-La Shanghai Hotel. Am glad that I opted to stay in this hotel to celebrate my Wife's birthday (Sept 20) as well as my Brother-In-Law's belated birthday (Sept 6).||We landed in Shanghai (our last stop) after a 20-day tour of China and was happy to have a memorable as well as comfortable stay in this hotel to celebrate a special occasion. ||It was truly an enchanting and a stay to cherish the sweet memories of this impressive hotel. The location was very central and well connected to the Malls (IFC) and having an excellent view of the skyline buildings (Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Jinmao) of unique architecture, in particular the Bund and Pearl Tower.||As usual, I opted to stay at the Horizon Club Floor. The room at the River View Wing that we stayed has an extremely scintillating view facing the Bund and Oriental Pearl Tower. Especially in the evening, with its brightly lighted environment creating a very luminous appearance that impresses an interesting and enjoyable stay.||The room though not very spacious but is sufficiently comfortable with its furnishing layout. The only setback is that the bathroom has limited space and rather compact for movement. The room lighting is warm and gives a very relaxed feeling. ||I am extremely impressed with the warm hospitality afforded the moment we arrived at the hotel entrance. From the door attendant to the check in reception, we really appreciate their kindness and thoughts in assisting and directing us to the registration counter at the Horizon Club Floor.||As the stay in this hotel was basically to celebrate my Wife's birthday as well as for my Brother-In-Law's belated birthday, I am delighted that the hotel did took the trouble to arrange and delivered a complimentary birthday cake to our rooms. It would have been more exciting if the gesture given was more generous and thoughtful. As this was a very special occasion and our very first stay in this hotel, it would have been more pleasant and surprising to my wife especially on her birthday to cherish. ||Me and my family particularly enjoyed and like to patronize the Horizon Club Lounge. The food and beverages provided were sumptuous and with diverse fusion options. More so, its quality and very fulfilling for a very private environment gathering. The night view from the Horizon Club Lounge is simply fantastic and delightful.||I would like to specially thank Mr. Kenny Ooi, Assistant Front Office Manager for his impeccable and professionalism in attending to our requests. His pleasant personality is remarkable giving us an extremely good impression of a warm welcome to stay in this hotel. It was very comforting speaking to him as he is so tactful and customer oriented. I would also like to thank Ms. Rachel Yang, Assistant Horizon Club Manager for so efficiently helping us in the check in process. She too was very enthusiastic throughout our stay in ensuring us to have an enjoyable stay.||The Horizon Club Lounge staff were all very prudent and friendly. In particular, I would like to express my compliments to Ms. Rylie Jin. She has demonstrated and exemplified excellent service qualities. She is very diligent and hardworking in executing her service duty that can be set as a role model for others to follow. Equally, my appreciation to Ms. Annaliza as she was also very caring and helpful too. Understand she was from the Philippines, and I find her truly well-adjusted to the Chinese culture and attending to our needs with a friendly smile all the time.||We are also very grateful and extremely impressed for Chef Lenged Tan to spend time meeting up with us. Sharing his working experience and how happy he was working for this hotel and even offered us his specialty Malaysian meals (Nasi Lemak and Mee Siam).||Overall, I would like to express and also on behalf of my family who shared the same opinion that it was indeed an excellent choice to stay in this hotel on the Horizon Club Floor. I do look forward to staying in this hotel again in the near future as well as recommend others to stay in this hotel to enjoy the fascinating experience.

I would give Shangri-La Pudong, Shanghai a 4-star rating. The overall stay was good, but there are a few areas that can be improved. The towels could be cleaner, as some had light stains. However, the food was delicious—especially the in-room dining options. Though a bit pricey (around 1,000 SGD for five days), we understand that hotel food often comes with higher prices, so that's expected and not a major complaint. One thing to note is the waiting time for in-room dining—it can take between 45 minutes to an hour, so a little more speed in service would be appreciated. I would like to highlight the room cleaner—she was very kind and truly hardworking. She made sure our room was always clean and comfortable, and her dedication didn’t go unnoticed. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. With a few improvements, this hotel could easily earn a perfect 5 stars. Thank you, Shangri-La Pudong, for the warm hospitality.

On this occasion stayed in Grand Tower and it was very much better than the smaller older Tower. The Horizon Club offerings were in a different league in terms of choice and quality and ambience. However the staff were very reticent to raise their heads to make eye contact and would benefit from some professional development. The room was well equipped, quiet and comfortable. Two ceiling lights in the hallway were broken and not operating. Reception staff and manager were cheery and helpful.
