24 Most Beautiful Places in Mexico

"Known for its sand, surf, and laid-back atmosphere, this under-the-radar Oaxaca town offers a stretch of sand for every traveler: bustling Zicatela Beach with waterfront bars and cafes, tranquil Playa Manzanillo with calm waters ideal for families, and scenic Playa Carrizalillo with golden sand and turquoise water. Fora travel advisor Natalie Stegman says "no trip is complete without a detour to nearby Playa Palmarito, one of the largest turtle nesting beaches along the Mexican Pacific Coast (note that nesting season is from September to June)." After a sun-filled day, recommended beachfront lodging includes Casona Sforza or Hotel Terrestre, where each of the 14 villas has a private pool." - Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman Lauren Dana Ellman is a New York-based writer and editor who specializes in travel, lifestyle, food, and shopping content. Great local beach both tons of restaurants, nice sandy smaller beach with good snorkeling. Lots of whale watching tours going in and out of here.

Excellent beach for affordable food and relaxed swimming. The water was clean and fresh. We loved how this beach was not too busy and had lots of happy families.

Beautiful local beach. Not much room on the sand, due to boats. Crystal clear water and many vendors. Can get busy, but worth checking out. Can book boat tours here very easily.

Spent a few hours here. Although it is a small beach the water is beautiful! I can see how it can get crowded fast since it’s a hot spot for the locals. There’s not much room for sun bathing but if you dine at the restaurant you’re able to leave your stuff there to swim about in the water.

Small pretty bay, but over crowded and with loads of boats mooring. The water wasn't clean because of the boats. No shade unless you want to pay for the sunbeds

Good for swimming and super chill. Busier on the weekends but great atmosphere

It’s a lovely bay but very very busy at the weekends. At one point there was 5 rows of people in the shallows making almost impossible to enter the water. You can see some fish in the rocks if you are early in the morning and there are many many bars and restaurants to grab food or drink, most are more expensive than the other local beaches. It is nice but go early and on a weekday.

Great for snorkeling, I have only been snorkeling twice before and I didn't need a life vest because the water is very buoyant there. There were a lot of locals there but everyone was friendly. No one minded that I put up my beach tent and flew my drone.

Yelp
Puerto Angelito is one of the smaller coves that you can swim in that has crystal clear water that's not very deep near the beach. It's perfect for kids so families naturally flock to this beach who have many children. On the beach you will find lots of floats for sale & water toys for the children. There are also many places to purchase swimsuits, beach clothing, hats, sunglasses, anything you could possibly need for a fun day beachside. There are also banana boat rides, paddle boarding & other fun stuff available here. There are many restaurants here that serve really good food. My fave is the Puerto Angelito Restaurant. They have some of the freshest seafood coming right off the boats, coco frio, beer, mezcal & the best Octopus tostadas in Port I have found. I come just for them! The service is the best, they are also the only place that has free Wi-Fi & they will even let you charge your phone while you dine in. It gets very very crowded on the weekends so plan accordingly. The best little beach for families to get together for clean family fun with the kiddos. Recommend for families with children.
