We landed in BA after a 10 hour overnight flight from the states. I had arranged with Puesto Viejo for a driver to pick us up at EZE and drive us to the hotel upon landing, which was a huge help. It was very relaxing the spend our jet lagged day on the premise. We laid by the pool, enjoyed a leisurely lunch and rode bicycles around the property. We were going to ride horses but my husband wasn't feeling well so we opted to relax instead, though everyone who went looked to have a good time!||We enjoyed dinner onsite, the food is very good. The rooms have AC and were comfortable. All of the staff was very helpful and spoke relatively good English to help combat my minimal Spanish.||I wrote this review mainly to highlight the wonderful attitude of the staff. After checking out and driving the hour plus to Buenos Aires, I got an email letting me know that I had left my Kindle in our room. Santiago offered to bring it to BA personally later that afternoon and dropped it off at our next hotel while we were out exploring the city. It was above and beyond and I am truly appreciative! Thank you to the staff for a great stay.

We spent a delightful afternoon here enjoying the beautiful ambience. Elegantly decorated with very friendly hosts. Chill or go for a walk, swim or ride a pony..... Delicious afternoon tea with table groaning full with home made cakes, biscuits and sandwiches. Fruit also as you prefer. Lunch was epic and was a meat-eaters delight. Watch the local birds and the polo ponies practicing their moves. Extremely relaxing atmosphere and easy to unwind in such beautiful surroundings.

Really recommended as a getaway from the city. Beautiful place, the cabins are nice(but hot in the summer) and there are many treats along the day! Good food and atmosphere. Recommended for couples or group of friends.

Booked the Polo Day and Stay. Polo lesson was with Fabian, not the resident instructors. Fabian is extremely personable and patient. Thank you!||Staff at PV very friendly and welcoming - Hi Santiago, Aaron, Fabian and Agustin!. However, a bit of a communication gap at times. Booking wasn't as straightforward as expected, requiring many emails to get questions somewhat answered/clarified. Javier picking me up was quite a bit earlier than expected so a bit rushed. Once at the estancia, didn't realize I would be riding right after a short introduction on the ground so would have been better to be warned to be in my riding boots from the outset. Then unclear how the meals were to be served.- felt awkward wondering where I was supposed to go/sit. No Malbec wine as advertised. Most major communication discrepancy was the price/duration of the extra, private ride - was quite a bit shorter and not private, so a price reduction would have been fair.||The estancia and polo grounds are very lovely and expansive with charming, rustic accommodation. My only minor disappointment was the quality of towels and toilet paper. - might have expected soft, higher grade towels and tp for this level of establishment. The minimal shower glass plate does little to prevent water from splashing and spraying onto the floor of the bathroom - this design flaw quite common in many places abroad though, not just here.||Bottom line, met lots of nice people and had a memorable time for a moderately high price.

Two years after my last trip due to the pandemic, I was finally able to fly to Buenos Aires with no problem and check in at Puesto Viejo. Lili , Jeremy and Hernan have done a great job keeping and improving the property during the pandemic.||The reservation process with Manu was seamless . The car was waiting for me at the airport. The new hotel manager, Romina, is spectacular as are the reception managers Aaron and Leandro. The new chef Claudio is excellent as is the service provided by Angie and Mili. My room had been prepared for me by Anita and Mariana with great care before my arrival and everybody made me feel at home. Majo, the polo manager, arranged for me the best horses for stick and balling as well as organized the chukkers to my convenience. Playing chukkers with pro Santiago de Estrada is a true treat. ||In short, PV which was already in my view the best place to learn and play polo in Argentina, is back with an even greater focus on superior hospitality and good times.||Thank you PV team for making my stay unforgettable !

WOW! My husband and I decided to take a polo lesson during our honeymoon in Buenos Aires. We were complete beginners and went just to learn something new, coming from the states. EVERYTHING from the booking, breakfast, lunch, lessons were so professional and amazing. Julio was such a good instructor. He taught us everything from how to ride our horse, hold the polo stick and work on different swings. We took a lesson with someone more experienced than us. Our instructor did so well working with each of us individually so we had a great time together. The staff was so nice, food was great and the estancia was so beautiful. With the full day polo, we got access to the entire place so we even sat by the pool and relaxed on the hammock. So beautiful. Don't be nervous, do this no matter what level you're at! I highly recommend it! Definitely a big highlight of our honeymoon. Thank you! :)

Great place for relax and to be in touch with nature. If you are a horse fan there is no better place, no matter your age. 100 times better to connect to the airport than from central BsAs. The staff is great always ready to satisfy any need. Food is amazing!!! My only complaint is that I got used to be woken up by bird's songs in the morning and I don't know how I will manage now without...

I arrived in Puesto Viejo on the Monday as part of a solo trip of Latin America with the aim of learning how to play polo. ||||The polo: ||||Having ridden most of my life at a competitive level in show-jumping - my initial worry of the polo riding being focused purely on ‘beginners’ vanished entirely after speaking with the owner, Jeremy on my first night there. The club puts a true emphasis on making sure that the polo course is adapted and customised to the needs of everyone, independent of their level. They gave me the entire flexibility of balancing the stay between a relaxing holiday and an intense training session. ||||My coach Agustín is a 4 goal player and the lessons were truly incredible. From spending a couple of hours in the morning focusing on technique and then a couple of hours in the afternoon playing some chukkas in teams with some other players. ||||Puesto Viejo lives and breathes polo - when not riding in the morning or afternoon - guests have the choice of either relaxing after a lovely lunch or going to look at some of the multiple polo matches taking place across the various fields. In my case as a solo traveller - whether my coach, any of the staff on the estate or some of the other guests - have always offered to walk me through some of the rules of the game and not once was I left without my questions answered. ||||After 5 days there, I was hooked and couldn’t imagine having developed my skills so much in so few days anywhere else. ||||The hotel / service: ||||Only when you drive in through the front gates of the estate can you truly understand the grandeur of Puesto Viejo. A long tree studded driveway brings you to the hotel reception, which is set among acres of fields on all sides. With terraces on both sides and the most friendly of staff, you immediately feel like this is your home. The reception is set in a house which has retained all of its original features, yet beautifully decorated and designed to give it a very cozy and homely feel. ||||The few rooms available are set just behind the reception and have everything you need from a hotel - very comfortable beds and bathrooms but above everything, the ability to wake up with the sound of birds and nature all around you. ||||The staff are all young and energetic and truly all pay attention to every need you have. When waking up - the breakfast table is set and the front of house reminds you at what time your polo lesson will be at - giving you enough time to roam around the club a little before jumping on a horse. Furthermore - the food is incredible. The chef - will cook up something new every day and will tailor it to your requirements if need be and the food is truly exceptional. ||||Overall - from start to finish - my stay at Puesto Viejo was out of this world. From the friendliness of the owners, Jeremy and Liliana, to the staff and to the polo lessons - I couldn’t recommend this any more to anyone wishing to take some time off to try out a new sport or even to just spend a few days in a lovely hotel in the country side of Argentina (only an hour from Buenos Aires centre). ||||I have stayed in many incredible hotels during my trip - ranging from the Four Seasons, Belmond and Sofitel - however none of them have made me feel quite so welcome and provided me with such a memorable experience Puesto Viejo. ||||Therefore, thank you very much for this stay and looking forward to coming back! ||||Cyrus
