We came across Puffin during a long weekend trip with our Aussie family members. Having visited Wellington dozens of times, I couldn't believe I'd missed this lovely wine bar. The wine was delicious, the service was good, and we appreciated the quiet atmosphere (it was a Sunday afternoon). I plan to meet friends here in the future.

Hands down, it's the best Dry Gin Martini in Town. If you want it dirty and made with Vodka you can never send it back. Tight service, good snacks and atmosphere, kind service. Great place if you just fancy a cheeky one, or a night on the town. 🤍

What a gorgeous bar.. As soon as we walked in the doors we knew it was going to be a beautiful experience.. Moody lighting created a feeling of calm and with the elegant furnishings this bar has it all going on. Then when we went to order a drink, we were welcomed by a vivacious and friendly. Ella who knew her stuff about wines. Ella and then Jade made our time there, fabulous. Un pretentious but very knowledgeable, these girls are an asset to this bar along with their team that all worked tirelessly to ensure everyone was having a great time. Thank you Ella and Jade for making our experience so nice. You are stars. 🌟

Easily the best wine bar in town. Excellent range of wine. The staff are all knowledgeable and friendly. The environment is polished and fun. Super cosy and bonus: dog friendly! Hospitality professionals are clearly running this joint with passion.

I had the best experience with the staff at Puffin. They are attentive to your needs and go the extra mile for customers. The conversations and ambience are amazing and they even held onto a speaker for me when I was out running errands. I will be bringing my friends here from now on!

I recently visited The Puffin bar in Wellington, New Zealand, and had a delightful experience. The drinks were refreshing and well-prepared; The garlic bread was a wonderful choice for a snack - it was flavorful and perfectly toasted. The ambiance of the bar was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax and unwind. I would definitely recommend The Puffin bar to anyone looking for a pleasant spot to enjoy drinks. But, I think they need to add more options to the snacks menu.

The rudest and most aggressively arrogant service in 'hospitality' received from the manager! From their website - "It’s important to be open-minded here and in life generally - Our aim is everyone’s enjoyment, all the time." Sadly this couldn't be further from reality! Small minded, rude and nasty behaviour and 'hospitality' from the manager! Absolutely disgusting!

We came across this hidden gem by chance, I was drawn in by the orange door (my fav colour). At the end of a corridor, past the wine shop and hotel seating in the lobby (?) was an intimate bar with cosy seating. We only stayed for one drink as we had dinner plans elsewhere but this was a great little find and the wine I chose was delightful, floral and quite different to the usual Pinot Gris I drink. The bar service was friendly and helpful in choosing my wine.
