Puku Pies & Kai Lyall Bay

Ordered the almond croissant, as it looked so yummy. However, was so disappointed. It was dry, had no filling and tasted like it was 3 days old. My coffee was average, however my friend ordered a meat pie and it was good! Would only recommend going there for the pies.

Came on my brother in laws reccomedation and boy did he pull through. Pies are killer and the cronuts and cruffins are also very very nice. Worth a repeat visit. We went back everyday while in wellington. 5 pies later and im certainly heavier and satifiedier Beef brisket was a favourite

Best pies in NZ! We went here after a long trip driving from Christchurch to Wellington and onto the Ferry, and was really surprised how good the pies were. 3 of us so we got a chicken and mushroom, steak and cheese and one of their specials at the time a beef and brisket. Well-priced for the good quality. All were hot and filled with lots of actual meat and tasted delicious. We came back a few days later before we left to go further up north, just as great. Another good thing was that the pastry was actually great, too. The staff behind the counter were very nice. I definitely suggest Puku pies!

can we all agree the pie is actually delish and it’s a pretty big, chunky pies too!! the steak and cheese pie was so yum i love you 🤗🤗🤗 but i wouldn’t recommend the cream filled croissant but since they’ve got so many goodies, i’d love to try more pies next time. the staff were really friendly too. grateful they opened a new store on the way to my gym new temptation unlocked 😭

Amazing pies 10/10 Love that they had different ketchup brands! Also not pictured but the matcha and coffee is amazing.

Too much meat in each bite! I tried the Jalapeño and Brisket pie and it was the perfect way to warm up while a Southerly wind was howling outside. While this pie was the most expensive one I've ever bought it was also the most meat-filled pie I've ever had so I guess it balances out. I would try to take a bite and 2 more mouthfuls of meat would try to tag along for the ride. Need to wipe evidence off face after that ordeal. Flavour delicious 😋 Pastry crispy and I noticed all customers had the tell-tale signs of a great pie sprinkled around them. There were about 20 pies in the cabinet but by the time I'd finished my pie the cabinet was empty! Get on it; you will not regret it! One last thing: there was a power outlet available for each customer at the bench if needing to charge a phone. Very useful if traveling.

We heard about the great pies here so decided to stop in. We ordered a tea and a coffee, a cinnamon bun and 3 pies. The coffee was delicious as was the amazing cinnamon bun with cream cheese frosting!! We got two meat pies which my other half says were 10/10 and delicious! I got a veggie one (cheesy cauliflower) which was served lovely and warm. Sadly I had to have cold later but it was still yummy! I imagine it would have been even yummier if I’d been able to warm it up! Would definitely recommend and return!!

Be prepared to queue but the line moves pretty fast. Such a great location you can see and visit the beach. Their pies and pastries both look amazing and taste amazing. We got the pie of the month smoked beef brisket and biscoff croffin. The iced latte was just alright, didn’t like their matcha..
