"Over at the Pulitzer Amsterdam in the canal district, a nearly 30-foot tree is the striking centerpiece of the front garden, emblazoned with sparkling, sculptural ornaments in champagne hues. Dubbed Festive Sparks, designer David Laport’s handiwork riffs on his latest couture collection with hand-embroidered, 3D textures, and he frames it as a celebration of togetherness, light, and sparkle, showing that design can live beyond the runway." - Anne Bratskeir Anne Bratskeir Anne Bratskeir is a veteran style reporter who covers fashion, beauty, celebrities, home, and travel. "Stitched together from 25 impeccably restored Golden Age canal houses, this emblematic stay overlooks the Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht and sits steps from the Rijksmuseum, Anne Frank House, Van Gogh Museum, and the Nine Streets. Each of the 225 jewel-toned rooms is unique, with peaked headboards nodding to Amsterdam’s gabled roofs and tall windows framing postcard canal views; new Collector’s Suites go all-in on themes from Delftware to tulips. Tranquil inner gardens and two classic canal boats round things out, while the Beauty House brings skincare, massages, nail and hair services, and specialty treatments like cupping and cryotherapy facials." - Siobhan Reid

"Step back in time at Pulitzer Amsterdam, a collection of 17th and 18th century canal houses restored to their original grandeur. When you’re not gazing out your window as boats glide past, pop into the Art Deco style bar for a craft cocktail." - Nicole Kliest
"An Amsterdam lodging composed of 25 beautifully renovated canal homes; cited as one of readers' favorite hotels in Amsterdam in the 2024 World's Best Awards and positioned as an ideal romantic base for exploring canals and museums (including the Van Gogh Museum) and for visiting during tulip season." - Alex Schechter Alex Schechter Alex Schechter is a Los Angeles-based journalist who covers travel, food, and dining. "Rooms of all shapes and sizes range up and down the stairs and along the passageways of 25 houses stretching between two canals. Designer Jacu Strauss makes delightful use of period features yet gives the hotel a smart-contemporary feel. There’s plenty of cheekiness, too: an archway built of books with a bicycle on top; a Delft porcelain rooster or some other souvenir-shop weirdness placed in a lamp; a wall of 18 brass trumpets (well, one is purple—a delivery error that somehow works). Jansz. restaurant serves assertive dishes—strong on flavor, with subtle twists." - Amber Port
