Our family of 3 (including a one year old baby) stayed at the Pullman for 6 nights. Overall the experience was great, the resort executed the “all inclusive” concept well without making it sound or look cheap. What was and wasn’t included in the package was laid out clearly and there are many dining options too.
Service was great mostly, majority of the staff made efforts in welcoming us and making sure the baby was comfortable. Staff at the main “Melange” restaurant were the most warm, while services at the “Sol Rising” and “Souk Oven” were spotty at times. No matter the outfit, the food options were excellent.
The location, being on the 2nd furthest South Island in the Maldives and away from the busy air and marine traffic in Male, there’s great marine life for those who enjoy snorkeling. However due to the remote location it is some trouble to get to.
The resort is 1hr domestic flight + 15min speedboat ride AFTER you land in Male. On the way in, the hotel staff was helpful in sharing the schedule with us for connections at the Male airport and there was a dedicated staff greeting us there and making sure we are checked in and boarded the domestic flight, enjoying the lounge during the transfer (3hr wait time).
The trouble came when we wanted to leave. During check in, the staff assured us we can check out at 6am the day of departure, catching the 9am flight to Male and making the 12pm flight out of Male. However the day before check out we were told the check out time was 2:45am, to catch the 5am flight to Male. With a 1yr old in tow you can see how this made it extremely difficult to plan.
My one caveat for those considering this resort is to ensure you coordinate the inbound and outbound flights to Male, as domestic flight schedules could make the trip more troublesome than advertised.
