It’s the staff who makes good service happening. They are helpful, answer all possible questions, and help tourist like me in every situation. The other that matters are superb location in terms of tourist attractions, walking distance to shopping mall, and extremely close to many restaurants. You can search for Mongolian style hotpot’s, Japanese or Korean food, KFC or subway. Everything in a walking distance around the hotel. Oh, at least two convenience stores nearby. The traffic jam is like many capital city. Plan your trip to the airport in advance. Staff can book a van for you. You can pay in local currency or US dollars.

Great location close to the Parliament, bus station, shops, and restaurants. The receptionist could speak English and was very helpful. Paying credit card is available. However, the staff, especially at the breakfast, were terrible. They were talking, watching movies on phones continuously while the breakfast tables were dirty and were unable to sit anywhere. When we mentioned it to them, they showed angry faces. They cooked their breakfasts every morning at the egg table, took their plates to the kitchen and closed the door, so as a guest it was very uncomfortable to call them out from the kitchen.

The location of this hotel is great. It's right next to the main square of Ulaanbaatar in a safe area. There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The room was big and the bathroom towels were good quality. Other than the lady who checked me in, the staff were quite rude and didn't seem to care or want to interact with guests. I booked the hotel airport transfer - the car was quite dirty. Not the best first impression of the hotel. Breakfast was terrible - staff hiding in the kitchen, dirty tablecloths, dirty napkins, not much choice of food, fruit looked a week old. On the second morning none of the cooked food was ready for breakfast opening time. Eventually someone came out of the kitchen and announced "today breakfast 8 o'clock. It's holiday." An advance notice would be good, especially since people have early morning tours booked or are there for business. On the third morning there was a power cut. This was never addressed by staff. I didn't want to eat a cold breakfast in the dark so skipped it. In the room the safe was not nailed down and was fairly light, rendering it useless. One cupboard door was missing and the other was off the sliding roller, which I fixed. The cupboard was also fairly damaged inside. The toilet seat was loose and sliding all over the place. The "do not disturb" sign was missing from my room and there was no one at reception to ask for one, so I had to make an improv one to hang on my door. In general the room was very dated and in need of an upgrade. There are much nicer looking hotels in Ulaanbaatar. They are no doubt worth paying the extra for.

Great location right by the main square. Big, clean rooms, great bathroom with a bathtub and toiletries. Kettle, coffee and tea in the room. Amazing breakfast! So many options- from fruits to caviar. Delicious.

I stayed in Puma Imperial Hotel for two weeks in two instalments in October 2019 and, I don't regret my decision staying in this hotel. I already reviewed the hotel after my first stay and that remains valid. This hotel became a home away from home for me for those two weeks. Nice and helpful English speaking staff, spacious and confortable room, onsite restaurant and a KFC just outside the hotel, supermarket 5 minutes walk, central location, et. etc. After my first stay I got a free upgrade to a superior room, which was luxurious. Adequate number of wall sockets for international plugs (hotels in the developed countries do not have this consideration - in the USA and UK, sockets for only USA and UK plugs; even in Singapore and Dubai hotels, wall sockets accommodate only British plugs - Type G), adequate lighting in the room, desk space and desk lamp, all of which made my work and stay very comfortable. Besides, breakfast was excellent. Complimentary drinking water bottle, sachets of good quality teabags, instant coffee and sugar and a hot water maker, and adequate complimentary toiletries. Daily laundry service. The hotel provides meter taxi calling assistance, but I found the meter taxis to be expensive. The meter taxis charged me T12000 for a 6 km ride, and T45000 (approximately $17) for a one-way ride to the airport (20 km). But, this is the only option when one does not know the local language or even Russian to be able to negotiate with a street taxi.||||It would be good if they include a price list for the minibar items. There is a price list for the laundry service.

The location is superb. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The staff at reception is friendly and helpful. ||Some minor improvement will make it a 5 star review. 1. Shower curtains over the bath tub will be useful. 2. Put the main light switch nearer to the entrance. 3. For room with shower and no bath tub, provide a soap dish.

Although there were some defects in the room, e.g. the lamp out of order next to my bed, my experience in Puma was pleasant and I would certainly suggest it. I appreciate that they prepared my breakfast in a box due to very early departure.

Stayed twice in the span of a couple of weeks during a vacation in Mongolia. A bit of confusion about whether the room was pre-paid or not, was efficiently cleared up satisfactorily. Staff very helpful and friendly. They provided a take-away breakfast for mornings I had to leave before breakfast was served in the restaurant. Room was comfortable enough, although bathroom fixtures/plumbing in need of maintenance. Location of the hotel is unbeatable!
