Neighbourhood spotlight: Battersea, London - SilverKris

"A compact contemporary gallery tucked away in the park that hosts ad-hoc, often unconventional shows; it’s regarded as a hidden local treasure offering exhibitions that differ from the more traditional displays found in central London galleries." - Delle Chan

What a beautiful venue for our June wedding! The team was exceptionally helpful, golf carts made it accessible for all of our guests, and everyone said what a beautiful venue it was. So wonderful to celebrate in the beauty of Battersea Park and get to use the Bandstand as well to gather our guests. A fantastic and affordable wedding location option in South London.

My husband and I recently got married at the Pump House Gallery in Battersea Park and would definitely recommend it! The team were extremely helpful in the run up and also helped make sure everything ran smoothly on the day. It was also great to be able to bring in our own catering and create a day that really felt like "us" Thanks so much to Cecilia, Maddie and all the events team from the park, would definitely recommend as a venue!

Our school held its 40th Birthday event on Sat eve. It was lovely & would thoroughly recommend. Looking out onto others enjoying the summer sunshine in the rest of the park was really nice too.

The wait was fairly long due there not being many people there at the time, but that wasn't a huge deal breaker. The only honest complaint we all had was that neither of our orders were 100% accurate. I asked for smothered tots and got smothered fries, ok we could live with that. Our friend asked for the fixing to be on the side due to them sharing the fish tacos and one had a food allergy and had them come out with everything on them. So no fish tacos for them, but at least they had the nachos to munch on.

This is what I like. This was a listed building. Probably still is. As a teenager (in the 1980’s), we used to play inside this. All that you see now, was not available to me. No stairs, no upper floors, just a derelict building of four walls & a roof with lots of pigeon visits. So, what do I like? That something has been done with it, because the time of exploring old derelicts has past me by. I wonder if anyone found our time capsule. I suppose other teenagers brought girls there. Now why didn’t I think of that? haha - too late now!

Recently visited the gallery for the first time, hoping to find a place to wind down and discover a new artist. It was completely the opposite as I saw the manager of the gallery shouting at a staff member who had dropped something. Immediately got a bad impression from this place. From what I saw seems quite poorly organised and staff are shouted at.

Beautiful gallery. Deep inside the park.

I like things that use water, simples. Battersea Power Station is pretty interesting in itself though these it's more likely to host massive parties than do any pumping. The Gallery still holds some remnants of the past though.
