Recently I traveled for the first time from Pune International Airport, and overall the experience was quite decent with a few highs and a few lows. I entered through Gate D3, and the first thing I noticed was the availability of DigiYatra. Honestly, this part was super impressive! No long lines, no need to show an ID again and again — you simply scan your ticket in the DigiYatra system and walk straight in. It really saves time and makes the airport entry smooth. Another thing I liked was that there’s no separate luggage scanning point at the entry. You can directly go inside and drop your bags at the counter. Also, they start the baggage drop around 2 hours before the flight, which is very convenient. However, one thing that stood out negatively for me was the security checking staff. I don’t know how they usually behave, but during my visit, I personally felt their tone and attitude were a bit rude. It makes first-time flyers uncomfortable. Once inside the boarding area, the airport looks quite modern. There are many fancy stores, cafés, and seating options. Overall, Pune Airport is well-maintained and good in most aspects, with just a little improvement needed in staff behavior.

Seating is adequate, but during rush hours finding a comfortable spot can be challenging. Washrooms are clean and regularly serviced, which adds to the overall positive experience. Connectivity options like taxis and app-based cabs are easily available outside the terminal, making onward travel convenient. While the airport does not yet match the scale or facilities of larger metro airports, ongoing upgrades are noticeable and promising. Overall, Pune International Airport offers a satisfactory and hassle-free travel experience, especially for short-haul and domestic flights, and continues to improve to meet growing passenger demand.

Pune Airport has become much busier compared to earlier. With more flights and increased passengers, the place feels crowded, especially during peak hours. However, the airport is well maintained with good connectivity and nearby hotels like Hotel Samai Palace, Novotel, and Four Points. The staff are helpful, and food options are decent. Overall, it’s an important travel hub for both business and leisure travelers, but expansion is needed to handle the growing traffic smoothly.

One important thing to note: you cannot book cabs directly from the airport premises. You actually have to walk a bit outside to get a cab, which can be inconvenient, especially with luggage. A small and tiny airport, but honestly quite clean and well-maintained. Since it’s also a military airport, we were clearly informed not to click photos or shoot videos near the windows or runway yet some people still try to take selfies, which is just annoying.

The officers were professional yet courteous, making sure everyone felt secure without creating unnecessary delays. Even though the airport was busy, the process moved fast, which made me feel stress-free. ☕ Relaxation & Refreshments Before boarding my flight, I spent some time in the waiting lounge and food court. The airport had a variety of options ranging from coffee outlets to snack counters. I enjoyed a warm cup of coffee along with some light snacks while watching aircraft take off from the runway.
