If an adult sized bed with bedding from this century is important - look elsewhere. If walking to the slope - Gondola is all that matters this is the place. The owner has an I don't care attitude and the staff reflects this. For the price, it was a disappointment The stairs weren't cleaned from the snow and there are a LOT. When we arrived the parking lot was closed and we dragged our suitcases through the snow, no help to be found- The pics are filtered.

I absolutely love this hotel. It has a great family feel and everyone on staff is very nice and helpful. Looking right out of the back porch and from each room, you have an amazing view of Cerro Catedral (one of the best ski resorts in South America), and the lifts are just a couple minute walk away. You are as close as you can get! ||||The hotel has great rooms for families, which are condo size, as well as smaller rooms for people traveling alone or as a pair. All room options are gorgeous. Besides this, the hotel has a restaurant that serves delicious locally sourced food, with options great for kids and adults alike. If its your first time in Argentina, you will love the Milanesas as well as the superb wines. The local trout from Bariloche is delicious as well! ||||I cant wait to get back to this hotel. I have been in the winter and the summer, and both are absolutely beautiful. If you want to get a true feel for life in Patagonia, this hotel is perfect for you!

The hotel is across the road from the big car park in front of the lift stations and you are very close to lifts and shops. The restaurant area has a nice view of the lower ski area so you can keep an eye on the lifts in the morning. Breakfast is simple but good and the reception desk always helpful. Rooms are big but a bit tired looking. We had a room with a balcony which we thought was nice, but it meant we could hear the water dripping onto the concrete all night. They for some reason don't have guttering on the houses here.

After getting to Buenos Aires, you come another 1000 miles to Bariloche in July/August to ski Cathedral mountain. The Hotel Punta Condor is adjacent to the entrance to the ski facility. It is maybe an 8 minute walk from the hotel to the gondola. Your picture window and balcony frames the ski slope, you wake up at 8 AM watching the moon rise over the mountain - they are on Buenos Aires time over here despite being due south of the Eastern Time Zone, so it's dark at 8 AM - and you hear the sounds of kids having great times on the slopes through your open window.||||We are here for 7 days - no new snow, unfortunately, but enough man-made to make for good enough skiing. I suggest you check the weather reports online before coming.||||The place is owned by a couple of ex-pats from French Switzerland. She makes breakfast and he cooks dinner. Breakfast buffet, which is included, has scrambled eggs, sliced meats and cheeses, juices, cereals, fresh fruits, yogurt drinks and lots of little pastries that were obviously just made. We've eaten twice here for dinner and couldn't have been more satisfied with the local trout, lamb and beef dishes being of special note. We've also eaten at the more famous places downtown in the city of Bariloche - 25 minutes and $20 USD via taxi - and, while the setting in those places was much more impressive, I can't say that the food was that much better. And after a day of skiing, it's great to dine in the hotel and then hit the bed and get ready for the next day's early rise to go skiing. (Keep in mind that the slopes close at 5 PM so you want to start early even though it is still dark at 8 AM)||||Our dining tab for the 7 of us averaged around 1000 pesos or about 200 $US. That included huge appetizers any one of which could have fed the whole table.||||The room was very clean and efficient. The bathing/toilet part of the bath was quite small but included a full tub and bidet and lots of heat and excellent water pressure. There is a small sink just outside. The main part of the room includes a sink, fridge, microwave, 2 burner stove and plates, silverware, etc. The beds are small but comfortable enough. The TV is satellite but when is there time to watch?||||Again, if you are here in Bariloche to ski, why would you not stay alongside the mountain vs. waking up in the dark downtown and having to take a bus or taxi each way to get here? If you are not here to ski, different story.

Basil and Sybil Fawlty are please to advise that they have left Torquay and have taken up residence in the ski resort of Bariloche.||A buddy and I booked a week in a room that was supposed to be "2 seperate sleeping areas with a shared bathroom". What we got was a room with a tiny bedroom and a kitchenette with a day bed. The double bed was actually 2 (old) single beds pushed together with nothing connecting them but the sheet, so of course you fall inot the gap that opens in the middle. The curtains provide no privacy whatsoever, so anyone passing by the room can look in and see the person sleeping/changing in the kitchenette. The bedding was a disgrace, pancakes for pillows, army surplus grubby blankets and ripped sheets. Worse still was the fact that the room was directly over the boiler, so even with the heating turned off and the windows open (while it was snowing) the room was an oven. After one (dreadful) night we complained and after considerable argument, we agreed to change to 2 single rooms for an additional US$220 each. Upon checkout they charged us US$277 each and we had to argue again for 40 minutes to get them to honor the previous agreement.||The hotel has no internal stairs or corridors, all are outdoors, exposed to the weather, so to get from your room to the lobby or restaurant, you have to dress for an arctic expedition. What genius thought that would be a good idea for a ski resort hotel? Whe leaving, we had to drag our luggage unaided down 4 flights of wooden snow-covered stairs, across a snow drift covered car park and 100 yards up a slushy road, becuase they could not be bothered to clear the driveway for the pick up vehicle.||||Food and beverage in Argentina is generally good and inexpensive, not here. Mediocre quality and overpriced. Try and get a gin and tonic at the bar - they've never heard of tonic . The so called restaurant/bar is actually a basic cafeteria next to the reception desk with no atmosphere. There is no where to sit and relax comfortably in the entire place. ||Your hosts are a delightful couple. He (Basil) is a dour chap who never comes out of his office, and she (Sybil) is an unfriendly, cold fish who rarely says hello, and spent the entire week shooting dirty looks at me for having the nerve to complain.

Do not stay here if you are over 35||Do not stay here if you do not speak Spanish||Do not stay here unless you like to listen to trance music (I don’t mean Bob Moses) until either 10 pm or often until Midnight||Do not stay here unless you enjoy walking up numerous flights of wood planked stairs ||Stay here if you like having antiquated brass skeleton keys to enter/exit your room||Stay here if you like 1980 retro hotel room decor ||Do not stay here if you like pillow top mattresses ||Stay here if you like beautiful views of Cerro Catedral||Stay here if you want to walk out the door and be to the lifts within a minute or two ||Stay here if the word “rustic” gives you the warm fuzzies.||Definitely stay here if you like to get booted off the WiFi every 30 minutes and have to re-enter the user name and PW because it is somehow blocked from being stored on your device (neither Apple or Android had success)||Stay here if you want something between a three star hotel and a hostel||||In a nutshell - the place is quaint and in its hey day was probably quite the place to be. It’s no fault of the owners that the town is now over run with snow boarders, beer, pizza and pulsating music that starts at 7 AM and goes on most nights until 10 PM but often until midnight. Or that one of the primary sub woofer joints is right outside the door of the Punta Condor. We found the door lock system to be frustrating and quite frankly very dangerous should there be an emergency situation where we would have had to exit the room quickly. We were given one set of 3 keys on a large, round wooden fob. There was the primary key that opened the door to the outside; once inside there were two hotel rooms, one upstairs and one downstairs. The secondary key opened our room which happened to be downstairs. The third key was for the door out to the balcony. In each case, as you pass through a door, you have to use the skeleton key, which by the way only fits in and turns a specific way, to lock yourself into the room. And, since there is only one key per room, if there are two or more in a room, if one goes out, the rest have to lock the door behind that person. When the person returns, they have to knock on their own door to be let in. If everyone leaves at once the key is turned in at the front desk. If you all come back together, great. If not, then the first person gets the keys, and the others check as they come back and then head up to disturb the person in the room who if they wanted to take a nap or a shower...well you can see my point. All I can say is that the key management process was time consuming and ridiculous! And think about this scenario in an emergency. Fire is engulfing the hotel and you are fumbling with skeleton keys trying to get OUT! Just not sure why anyone thinks this is a good system.||||Another frustration was the internet. They have a monitor on it that only allows you to stay connected for approximately 30 mins and they somehow block your device from saving the username/PW so you have to constantly re-enter them. As the hotel filled up over the weekend the signal strength was degraded and we were often met with an ‘unable to connect’ message. ||||As far as the staff goes: we had two faves - Nicholas and Paula. Kudos to them both.

We stayed in the apartments across the road which are owned by one of the Punta Condor owners. Much better deal than the hotel and in a small building, all have view of the mountain, great size with kitchenette (could do with some better utensils etc), quiet (mostly). THe only negative is that they are advertised with free wi fi but the wi fi from the hotel across the road doesn't reach so you have to go over to the hotel and sit in their foyer. Make sure you visit El Living Restaurant around the corner near Moonski - the BEST restaurant in Bariloche.
