Rented Buggy from HTL (great service) and went to Punta Sur. We got tickets from rental company for $15 vs the $22 entry fee, saved a few bucks since that was our plan. The drive is on dirt road and plenty potholes but manageable for any vehicle. Stopped at lagoon tower for some pics and one crocodile sighting from above, then headed onward until we ran into signs for restaurant parking and Stopped, wow was so glad we did, went to restaurant on left and found out it's called Virgin Beach, not a club per say as long as you plan on getting food and or beverages. This was an absolute hidden gem! Smallish in size but white powder sand, turquoise blue calm water and place was practically empty at noonish for us. Suffice to say my grand day tour plan around island got derailed for a few hours as we were thrilled to stop. On way out we climbed lighthouse, it can be a task up spiral tight staircase, we r couple in mid 50's, we made it fine, last thing u needed to do at top was crawl through an opening about 3.5 ft high, then you are on the top 360 view platform. Had place to ourselves for about a few minutes then two large groups arrived, please note staircase is only one way wide so need to coordinate and communicate up and downs, doable as there r few spot to get past each other.
