Punthill Apartment Hotels | Little Bourke

Please DO NOT book a room at Punthill apartments on Little Bourke street Melbourne! You will be wasting your money. It’s pure filth, I didn’t want to touch a thing - door handles, bathroom and living area was horribly dirty Mould growing all over the blinds and in the bathroom, walls are disgusting, couch was completely stained, I don’t even want to think about how dirty the carpet is as it’s charcoal in colour. I paid $230 a night and all I wanted to do was go home, so disappointed. My daughter and I planned a weekend away and was initially so excited to stay in Melbourne but instead all we did while in our room was constantly wash our hands and try not to touch a thing. I have never stayed in an apartment of such dirty conditions especially when it’s suppose to be 4 star. More like 2 star!

If I could give zero stars, I would. Punthill Apartments was a complete disaster from start to finish, and I feel compelled to warn others before they make the same mistake. Filthy, smelly unit that felt like an abandoned squat. The overwhelming stench of curry hit us immediately, and the grime everywhere made it impossible to feel at ease. It was the furthest thing from the polished hotel apartment advertised online. After just one unbearable night, we had no choice but to leave and find alternative accommodation for the remaining four nights. The staff were polite but completely unhelpful. They dodged my questions about why we were placed in what felt like someone’s personal unit and never gave a straight answer. We were offered to change rooms but with the mistrust I felt and it being Christmas Eve we didn’t have time to waste and found more comfortable accommodation for Christmas. I requested a refund for the unused nights, the pet fee, and the rollaway bed, and they promised to “see what they could do” weeks later I followed up and they agreed to refund the pet fee only which weeks after that I had to follow up again because they didn’t process it as promised. Punthill Apartments claim to pride themselves on cleanliness and comfort—what a joke. If that’s their standard, they’re sorely mistaken. I strongly urge anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere.

The photos looked great. The rooms very opposite.. the bathroom smelt like mold, the whole room was awful smelling- the skirting boards and all bowing from im washing water damage, i didn’t want to step foot in the bath with the mold in the crevices. the aircon wasn’t functioning at all, the remotes were filthy.. the only good thing was the locations and the rooms are fairly sized. Otherwise this was a total expensive let down. Truely disappointed- thankfully only staying one night

I recently stayed here for business trip, and I can’t say enough good things! The location is absolutely great for business. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I’ll definitely be coming back!

WARNING! We are extremely disappointed with our booking with Puntill Apartment Hotels. Were were requested by email to pay our 3 night booking in full two weeks before our stay. Sadly due to the death of a family member we had to cancel our stay ten days prior. At no time were we notified of a cancellation policy with our booking correspondence, and this information is not on the website. We first became aware of this 2 week cancellation policy after we were directed to ring head office. We feel our $800+ payment has been effectively stolen as the room was more than likely rebooked. We have expressed these issues with an email, which has been ignored. We are in the process of taking this matter further.

Original booked apartment was Filthy , ridiculously small parking. Thankfully staff were helpful and able to move us to a new apartment. The cot provided for the baby was disgustingly filthy and a health risk, no other cots available so we were forced to go and buy a new one ourselves.

Beautiful apartment overlooking the city. Complete block out area to sleep. No light at 6 o’clock in the morning allowing sleep ins. The bath was a bit dirty. Parking inconvenience as well. Overall a really nice place to stay.

Rooms had a mouldy smell, worn carpets, moisture swollen doors and a leaking fridge which freeze your items. Very uncomfortable and dated furniture. The back of the main door had grease and dead bugs on it. Needs a major renovation

This weary traveller turned up at 1:30am after a delayed flight and discovered at this point that Punthill Lt Bourke does not have a 24-hour reception. Oops. I've gone back to the (third party, but very reputable and has not steered me wrong before) website I made the booking through and confirmed that it does state 24-hour reception as one of the hotel's features. It's something pretty important to this late-night flight-catcher, and had I known otherwise I would have been able to call ahead... instead of seeing the darkened front room as I approached and feeling the palpitations kick off in my chest. There was an intercom I was able to use to dial through to "after hours", which was a very helpful gentleman at one central switchboard for all Punthill locations, who gave me codes to get into the building and then to get my key. That all worked well but at 1:30am it wasn't what I wanted to be going through. Plus I'd already been planning my sweet-talk into a room upgrade in the taxi on the way over, and now I had nobody to deliver it to, only an envelope with my name on it to collect from a safe. The room was fine, the bath/shower fixtures were a nightmare to work out (seriously the number of times I have filled a bath using the shower because I can't work out how to get the taps to switch over properly = NUMEROUS), checkout was easy as my room was prepaid, and Punthill were happy to keep my bag stored in a conference room while I sauntered around all day. But I won't need to stay here again.

This place was advertised online as offering free wifi and a complimentary breakfast and parking. Not one of these things eventuated. In a small lane in china town Melbourne, the front of the building looks clean and modern. Unfortunately of the 4 people who booked in and paid for 2 seperate rooms, only one of us was on the system and as only having booked 1 room with 1 bed. The receptionist -Jodie- looked like a battered soccer mum, with hair dyed burgundy, a downward turned mouth, sarcastic and pointedly rude customer service. From the moment we walked in she behaved as if we were lying about our booking and that we just wanted to scam the establishment. She called head office twice before lecturing us on how she was not wrong about our group booking. When I enquired about why our wifi wasn't working she replied "Not everything is free you know" Wait a sec, have I recieved any freebies from you? The Apartment was not clean, the "balcony" door doesn't lock, the whole area was draughty, the seals on the putside doors had perished long ago, the room did not look like the picture, there is no customer support at all and we were redirected to the most expensive parking spaces available after calling reception twice to find out which one they were affiliated with. We found a much cheaper option a lot closer to the hotel after we were offered a "deal" of $19 per exit. Great location, but service is utterly Abysmal.
