Pur Oporto Boutique Hotel (Porto, Norte) 3 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Another in a long, long list of impressive Portuguese boutique hotels is Pur Oporto, a colorful little gem mere minutes from the city center. Its primary aesthetic inspiration is azulejo, the tilework for which the region is famous; as a decorative element tile is present in varying guises all throughout the hotel. Sky blue is the dominant tone, lending the rooms a soothing softness; some of the rooms (and all of the suites) come with outdoor terrace space. In classic European boutique-hotel style it lacks a full-service restaurant of its own; in this area its relatively central location fills the gap." - Tablet Hotels

Wonderful Experience – Looking Forward to a Future Stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Although I wasn’t able to stay at the property this time, I had a very positive experience with the hotel. The staff was incredibly kind, responsive, and professional throughout the entire booking process. The hotel itself looks beautiful, well-maintained, and full of character. Based on the excellent service I received, I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a visit to Porto. I’m already looking forward to booking here again on my next trip!

Absolutely appalling service! Rooms were fine but on the smaller side but kept very clean. Staff could not accomodate my request despite requesting on 3 occasions that I needed 2 separate single beds and was given one queen. Staff were not willing to compensate for this. Major plumbing issues! Went to adjust the temperature of the shower and the entire hot water tap came off and so the room completely flooded. When I phoned reception to alert them they did not answer at first. They finally rang back after about 3 minutes of gushing water coming out of the wall. It then took them another 5 minutes to come up and assess the issue which by this point the hallway began to flood and other rooms were being impacted. I was then given a new room but nobody rang to check on me or see what they could do to make my stay more pleasant. No compensation provided. Was just told “I can’t do anything at the moment” and was directed to send an email to their generic inquiries email.

It's a good hotel, cozy and clean. Large room, with all the quality personal items. (Robe, slippers) Very good location, close to many attractions, attentive staff. The only thing I would like is a more varied breakfast. I would be happy to stay again.

Gorgeous hotel! Rooms are stunning and the bed/pillows were soo comfy!! The hotel is a good location but it is all uphill from the main part of Porto, and an all uphill walk from Trindade metro (which is the closest metro)…. So bear that in mind! I was in room 307 and there was a lot of noise coming from upstairs in the evening. I assume this was due to whoever was staying in that room but it was very noisy which was quite annoying when trying to sleep after a long day. Other than that, I throughly enjoyed my stay here!

I had a positive experience at the hotel, apart from the drilling noise in the morning. When we arrived, our original room was not suitable, but Rafael was very helpful in accommodating our needs. The breakfast was good, the location was great, and the hotel had a charming boutique feel. However, the experience would have been significantly better without the constant construction noise. Additionally, we needed a hot water kettle, but unfortunately, there was not one available in the rooms. I would consider staying here again if the construction noise were no longer an issue.

TLDR: comfortable, quiet hotel in a good location but beware: your "private terrace, the perfect place to relax" may actually be extremely overlooked! This hotel is well situated, a short walk up the hill from Bolhao metro. You can get all the way down to the river in 25 minutes. The rooms are very comfortable, especially the beds. The location is quiet (although the building's ventilation kicks in at 07:30 and causes a lot of noise so don't expect a long lie in). The staff are generally polite and friendly (unless you have an issue, then they seem to roll their eyes..) Unfortunately you can easily be mis-sold at this hotel. For the extra cost of a "private terrace", room 101 does not live up to the billing. Whereas all the other balconies and terraces have privacy screens, this one doesn't, despite being 1m from the staff smoking area and 5m from the public terrace attached to the restaurant... A simple change here would make a lot of difference! Overall we did enjoy our stay and would consider it again, just wish there was more clarity on what to expect when you turn up

I’d first like to say: one of the days of my stay included the unprecedented power outage that swept through France, Spain and Portugal. I discovered then that water generally cuts off completely during outages in Portugal (and I assume the other countries affected this time) and the water systems most likely do not have backup generators like they do here in Canada. I had to clean up using the one bottle of complimentary water provided (thank goodness the power outage happened early in the stay). The staircase was pitch black and it would have been nice if there had been battery powered lanterns but I understand that would be a bit of an unreasonable ask given how rare an outage must be. Anyways. Aside from that I generally enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The hotel lobby was quaint and pleasant smelling with infused water in the sitting area. The staff were polite and efficient. The room was clean and nicely decorated. It included many amenities that most others do not include such as: tooth brushes, conditioner, a miniature sewing kit and slippers. That was very appreciated. In the four nights we stayed, they refilled the toiletries once. For some reason after cleaning one of the slippers disappeared so we had one set and one single slipper. My one complaint was the room cleanup. The slipper issue was minor but on one occasion one of my bath towels had become visibly dirtied. I had left it in the shower stall as hotels usually indicate to do, but after the cleaning I found the same visibly dirty towel on the rack. I left a written note asking for a new one and a new one was provided. I felt a bit apologetic because I didn’t know how to write the note in Portuguese and it might have inconvenienced the staff. It would be nice if the hotel room included a card that provides instructions on how to request fresh towels. Excellent location. The hotel is a short walk from Mercado do Bolhão, a small shopping centre with a supermarket (a more budget option), and many cafes/restaurants. It isn’t too far from the shopping district and several museums and Bolts are very affordable throughout the city.

This is such a cute hotel. I enjoy staying in boutique hotels when I can, and this one was very cute. It’s in a great location, and the size and decor of their standard room was great for one person. I would definitely come back to stay.
