This is such a beautiful temple & experience. You’re able to participate in the purifying ceremony, which was very meaningful and inspiring. One of the few temples in Bali that allows you to participate in a ceremony. They have sarongs you can use in the temple as well as in the water! Come wearing a swimsuit under your clothes for ease of experience. I highly recommend this experience on your Bali trip. It gets a little busy, so be sure to come earlier in the morning around 8am to miss the crowds!

Wasn’t expecting to have such a deep, spiritual experience here but it really caught me by surprise. Our taxi driver came in with us and it was a big help to navigate, understand where to get the water ceremony costume, where to change etc. It might be even better to get a local guide as we don’t, and the girl behind us in line explained how to do the actual water ritual. It really was magical to share this moment with my kids and everyone else there, and definitely the most meaningful experience I had in Bali.

Visiting Tirta Empul was an unforgettable spiritual experience. The temple architecture is stunning, and bathing under the stone spouts filled me with calm and clarity. Having a guide made it simple to follow the proper steps, understand each fountain’s meaning, and feel more connected. Even though it gets busy, entering early made a difference. I left feeling refreshed, peaceful, and deeply respectful of Balinese tradition

A gorgeous and spiritual temple. I highly recommend booking the Melukat Ceremony in advance if you want to participate in the water purification ritual. We did the 7:30am ceremony and were surrounded by locals — no other tourists — which made it even more meaningful. The guide was excellent and the setting is stunning and peaceful.

A beautiful and spiritual place near Ubud, famous for its holy spring water. You can join the traditional purification ritual in the pools or simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and unique Balinese architecture. The water is crystal clear and the temple grounds are well maintained. A meaningful cultural experience and definitely worth a visit when in Bali.

Beautiful experience, next time before coming there would take more interest about the history of the temple, and what to do there for the purification ritual. Otherwise you can pay a local to explain to you and take some pictures while you are at it. Better come in the morning while it is not as crowded.

I would give 4 Stars if less entry fees. The temple is nice, but except for the holy spring, average to other big temples. It was not too crowded when we visited on a Thursday late morning. Normally lots of esoteric/ spiritual western people there to take a bath in the holy water. For them it may be a 5 Star location. Currently several constructions ongoing. Up the hill is some location, from where you can get a nice view on the temple.

Beautiful area and experience doing the water purification ceremony. The guides will explain everything and are very serious. Some comments ⬇️: - visit early or later to avoid the crowd. - the exit leads you through a maze of stalls of women that try to sell you the same souvenirs which kind of made the experience a bit less amazing, just be aware of that. - maybe bring a local guide to explain you more about the temple and the religion. There are no explanation signs. We had our driver prep us amazingly so that made the experience very interesting. - the whole visit took us (without rushing) under an hour. Felt like a special experience. Grateful 🩷
