Can definitely recommend this nice Hostel, we stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Quepos and the National Park and it was perfect. The manager was so helpful in finding beautiful beaches along the coast and also helping buying the tickets for the national park online, before going there! Such a nice guy. In general all the staff was very friendly and helpful. The hostel is close to the center and only 15 minutes by walking! Taking the bus to the national park is just on the opposite side of the road, (only 390 Colon) couldn’t be more simpler. Bonus: when eating your breakfast in the early morning, you even have the chance to see the monkeys just outside and so close, really amazing.

I arrived at pura vida hostel 8 days ago for one night. I was welcomed so warm hearted and I felt right away at home. I took a private room with a private bathroom on the top floor where the entrance to the room is aswell a balcony with a breathtaking view of the jungle and mountains. You can go downstairs to the public room with a kitchen where you can prepare your own coffee or food aswell there is a big refrigerator. I would sit upstairs with my coffee and enjoy the view. Aswell downstairs in the mutual lobby there is a TV and enough space to sit inside at the table and eat or even another balcony where you can just sit or eat aswell. The owners are soooo friendly and so very very helpful and they will even give you ideas where to go or help you out with your needs ❤. The location is so convenient that you can walk to the city of Quepos, no need for any transportation. You have restaurants, stores, bars, banks, hairdresser etc. etc. aaaand the bus terminal where you can take busses all over. I recommend to stay at the hostel like I did and take every day a day trip and come back home in the evening. Most nearby places of 1 to 1,5 hours busride are not so attractive to stay overnight. So I preferred to come back every night and that was perfect. I came for 1 night and ended up staying 8 nights. I felt like family. You have aswell right in front of the hostel the bus to Manuel Antonio Beach and national park like every 15 minutes and the ride takes 15 minutes too to Manuel Antonio, to Quepos 5 minutes. If you need help with laundry, aswell no problem, they will wash and dry it withing to 2 hours and the price is by kilograms, it's a very good price. I didn't want to leave today because I have enjoyed it so much, but I am definitely coming back and looking forward to be there soon again. Thank you. You were my family and my made my stay so pleasant 🙂 😍🤗😃🙏🙏🙏

The property is absolutely beautiful! Lots of wild life in the area. Monkeys come through 2 times a week. Sloth lives in the trees too. The pool is fabulous! Shower at the pool are great for when you get back from the beach to shower off the sand. ||||Each villa is privately owned so it is not a hotel. You rent these villas from private owners. Saw 4 of the villas and they all have different things that go with them. Not all have air conditioning in the bedrooms so ask. The lock on one of doors was broken and was not fixed while we were there but they did give us an alternative lock to use. The caretakers that stay on the property were very helpful. They have a washer and dryer available which comes in handy. The houses are clean. Beds are okay. All the porches are great! Bathrooms were very clean too. They do not have internet but the Mono Azul Hotel is at the end of the block and they have wireless there. The food there is not so great so just get a drink. The bus stop is also at the end of the block so it is easy to get around if you don't have a car. I would stay there again for sure. a very relaxing place!

Really nice place. The staff are chill and helpful. There's free breakfast and a large common area with couches, games, a PS3, computers you can use and free coffee. The rooms are nice, and they are separated from the common area so you don't hear noise when trying to sleep. The location is a bit awkward, perched halfway up a hill making it tough to carry bags. Overall, you'll have a really nice stay here!

Very comfortable and clean apartment in an attractive and secure complex. I liked the apartment as it had a well-stocked kitchen, washing machine and dryer, phone with complimentary local calls and tv. The manager Donna lives locally and is friendly, organized and responsive. The apartment is located between the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio. It is about 3 miles to Manuel Antonio but the bus stop is located about two minutes walk from the apartment. It seems to run every half hour, only costs 50 cents and is a fun way to mix with the locals. I think if I did the vacation again I would try and be closer to the national park as I think the park is the only thing worth seeing in the area. However, I thought Casa del Chaman was wonderful.

My husband and I came here with a group of friends and had an amazing time! We rented out the whole place. The place is very simple and had all the amenities you need. The pool was a refreshing place to cool down after a long hot day in town. It is conveniently located by a bus stop that takes you either to Quepos or Manuel Antonio via a short ride. The porch was a wonderful spot to hang out and feed bananas to monkeys. Donna was very friendly and helpful. My husband and I want to go back in the next few years for our anniversary and will most definitely stay here again. I would recommend this place to anyone on a budget and "car-less". You can also walk into Quepos. I would recommend catching a cab back because the walk home would be straight uphill. The neighbors were great until some sour apples in our group pissed them off. They took it out on the whole group and made if very awkward for us to enjoy ourselves afterwards. But needless to say I would definitely go back, but this time without sour apples....

There is nothing negative to say about this place. The house is great. The neighbors are very nice. The location is exactly what one should want in a relaxing get-away. Donna was an excellent host and bent over backwards to ensure that our stay was perfect. We highly recommend this as a relaxing escape from the every-day rat race.
