Purana Quila (Old Fort) in Delhi is one of the city’s most beautiful and historically rich landmarks. Built by Emperor Humayun and enhanced by Sher Shah Suri, the fort showcases the elegance of Mughal and Afghan architecture. The massive stone walls, grand gates, and detailed carvings reflect India’s glorious past. The well-maintained gardens and peaceful surroundings make it a perfect escape from Delhi’s busy streets. Inside the fort, the **Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque** and **Sher Mandal** are must-see attractions that highlight the artistry of that era. The evening **sound and light show** is another major highlight, offering an engaging narration of Delhi’s history. Boating near the adjacent lake adds charm to the visit. Overall, Purana Quila offers a blend of history, beauty, and serenity, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and families alike. **Tips for Visiting:** * Best time to visit: Early morning or late evening for pleasant weather. * Don’t miss the sound and light show (usually after sunset). * Carry water and light snacks; wear comfortable shoes for walking. * Photography lovers should visit around sunrise or sunset for the best light. * Tickets are available at the gate or online via ASI’s official site.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Experience at Old Fort! Old Fort is truly one of the best places to visit in the city. The atmosphere is peaceful and calming, especially on weekdays when it’s much less crowded—perfect for couples who want to spend some quiet, quality time together. The entire area is well-maintained, with clean washrooms and a canteen that offers decent food and snacks, making the trip even more convenient. The fort itself is beautiful, full of history, and a great spot for photography and long walks. Overall, a must-visit location if you’re looking for a relaxing and memorable outing. Highly recommended! ⭐️🌿

Purana Qila is one of the oldest forts in Delhi and a wonderful place to explore history. The big gates, strong stone walls, and wide courtyards show the beauty of old times. The fort area is clean, peaceful, and full of greenery, which makes it a nice place to walk around and relax. It’s less crowded than many other monuments, so you can enjoy your visit comfortably. There is also a boating area and an evening light and sound show that tells the story of Delhi’s history. It’s a must-visit place for anyone who loves heritage and calm spots in the city.

A quaint forgotten fort that is well maintained and a great place to visit in Delhi. Unlike Red fort it's not overly crowded and you can easily enjoy the vast open area. Zoo is just nearby in case you want to visit.

This is one if the oldest forts in Delhi, the modern structure was built by Humayun and Shershah suri but people usually believe that this fort was once the Indrapasta fort of the Pandavas. There is still a lot of excavation work going on in the fort area and there are a lot of stuff the is usually dug out from the Gupta ERA of 300 BC. The fort is very well maintained and is very clean. The ticket price is very nominal Rs 20 - 25 and if you buy online it is more cheaper. There are two smaller museums inside the fort. If you go to the back side of the fort you can observe structures of work from ancient times. There is a small lake near the fort where you can do boating. The fort is very near to the Zoo and the parking size is slightly smaller. You can face difficulty during peak season and weekends. Rest, once you visit the fort then you will dive into the reminiscent of our past

Purana Qila is one of the oldest forts in Delhi and a wonderful place to experience history. The massive gateways, stone walls, and wide courtyards really take you back in time. I visited on a rainy day, and the fort looked even more beautiful with wet stone walls, fresh greenery, and calm surroundings. The monsoon weather added a peaceful charm, and walking through the quiet lanes in the drizzle felt like stepping into another era. It’s less crowded compared to other monuments, which makes it perfect for exploring at your own pace. There’s also a boating area and a light & sound show in the evening that brings Delhi’s history alive. A must-visit for anyone who loves heritage and serene spots inside the city.

Visited Purana Qila on a sunny afternoon and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The fort has a peaceful vibe, and the ancient architecture gives a good glimpse into Delhi’s historical past. The massive gates, old walls, and quiet gardens make it a nice place to explore if you’re interested in heritage sites. The Archaeological Museum inside is small but informative, and the boating area nearby adds a nice touch. However, the place could be better maintained in some areas — especially the lawns and cleanliness near the entrance. Still, it’s worth a visit if you enjoy history and want to escape the usual city rush for a while. It’s not the most exciting monument in Delhi, but definitely a calm and underrated spot.
