"Even in a town where locals pride themselves on being earthy and fuss-free, you can still hit the salon and emerge camera-ready thanks to PURE Beauty & Wellness Spa, owned by British expat Joanna Lyons. This is the place to get faux mink or silk eyelash extensions, enjoy a massage in a new Polish salt cave, or even try a colonic with a certified colon hydrotherapist. If you’re still feeling chilled from a day on the slopes, hit the infrared sauna, inspired by age-old Scandinavian tradition but more vital than ever in today’s toxin-filled world."

Mara was incredible. I had a 60 minute custom massage with reflexology and it was one of the best I’ve had! It’s easy to tell she is well trained and knows the body and the lymph system. Highly recommend.

I had the most incredible experience at Pure Beauty& Wellness Spa in Telluride! I recently attended a sound therapy session in their serene salt cave, and it was beyond amazing. The peaceful atmosphere, combined with the healing sounds, left me feeling completely relaxed and rejuvenated. The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, making sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. I felt all my stress melt away, and my mind felt clearer than it has in months. This is truly a hidden gem in Telluride – I can’t wait to return for more treatments! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique, restorative experience.

Google
Wonderful spa, great massage from Mara, and lovely, helpful staff. Super clean, I loved the salt cave and the infra red sauna. Highly recommend, best spa in Telluride by far.

The Supported Stretch service with Meg is amazing! She uses her knowledge and experience as a personal trainer to tailor the session to your body and its needs. The 45 minute session noticeably improved my mobility and flexibility and the ambiance of the salt cave was incredibly relaxing. I'd highly recommend this service, especially after a long day of skiing or hiking.

I had an incredible experience at Pure Beauty and Wellness Spa. Mag Nee delivered an exceptionally relaxing and supportive stretch and recovery service in a fantastic salt cave that effectively addressed all of my body's issues and left me feeling incredibly relaxed. I'm thrilled with the increased flexibility and rejuvenation I've experienced. Thank you for the fantastic service! I'm eagerly looking forward to my next visit!

Google
They automatically charge a 20% gratuity on services even when no hands-on service is provided. For example, I used the salt room and the sauna. The staff person opened the door for me and I set down the towels, but that was it. It didn’t seem worthy of a 20% gratuity. I’m very happy to pay a gratuity when someone actually provides a service such as a massage or a facial, but in this situation, 20% gratuity seemed high. Maybe five or 10% for sitting at the desk. I’d pick a place that did not automatically add 20% on my next visit to Tride.

Yelp
I never want to leave a bad review, but I can't stop thinking about the experience I had for makeup for my wedding day. My time at the salon was hands down the most stressful part of my entire wedding. 1- I booked makeup and specifically said it was for my wedding, they said their standard makeup service would be fine. When I sat down, she said I didn't book wedding makeup and I would be at the discretion of whatever SHE thought looked good on my face. I should have just left. 2- more of an fyi but I wanted my mom to come with me since it was my wedding day, but no guests due to covid which I understood. 3- I was already on a timeline, and they got started about 20 mins late because they said their airbrush machine was broken. They were running around and seemed very stressed. 4- I am well educated in makeup so I came prepared with photos, my own brand new palettes in case she wanted to use (totally fine if not though), and was very specific that I do not look good in cooler tones, requested natural warm tones only. I ended up with BLUE/PURPLE eyeshadow. She also was making weird jabs at the product I brought saying she had never heard of it (MAC palettes??). 5- I brought a bunch of different lashes, including individuals for her to help me apply. She had never seen individual lashes before, and the strip she did apply ended up with glue all over my eye. To top it off, the salon called me after and said they didn't charge me enough, so would have to charge me more. Overall, I felt extremely uncomfortable, not listened to, and unwelcome. They were unprofessional and kept making me feel like I was an inconvenience. I tried to keep a good attitude and be kind (like let's keep things positive because I'm getting married in 2 hours), and left a full tip. But I just felt compelled to let other brides know my experience. Maybe this salon is good for other services, but I would not recommend their makeup services.

Yelp
I came here to relax and left feeling more stressed than when I showed up. I wish zero stars was an option because of how misleading they are. They should be more clear on the website, and on the phone, that a day pass is actually just a two hour access to the spa with limited services. The "services" in the day pass included sitting in an underwhelming salt cave, a tiny sauna that's not made for people over 5'9", and an oxygen "bar" that made you feel like you were in a sterile hospital setting. The sauna is in the bathroom, and the bathroom was small with a toilet next to the shower. Typically , when finishing up at a day spa, you have all of the supplies you need and could just theoretically leave there and go straight to back out into the world. That was NOT the case here. The shower only had Doctor Bronners for soap, no conditioner or shampoo. No blow dryer etc. just someone to knock on the door and move you along to make your payment which included an undisclosed 20% gratuity for the woman who pushed us around on a strict timer for the two hours we were allowed for our "day pass". Let me be clear- I would absolutely be happy leaving a 20% tip if I got a service done but I didn't. I am surprised that a place like this exists in downtown Telluride.

Yelp
Fantastic experience! 90 min massage with Mara was best massage I've ever had, and I do massage regularly. I will come see Mara every time I'm in Telluride from now on. I also met the hands on owner, and she too is fantastic! What a great spa and climate.

Yelp
disclaimer! i posted this review to Google and she mustve reported it or something. such a terrible establishmen, I'm baffled this business is working in downtown telluride . We will not be returning and would not recommend to anyone looking for a spa experience. If you are looking for a bathroom with an awkwardly placed sauna or a dark cubicle to suck on some oxygen, then this is the place for you. First we are a group of four and had a "day" pass which we was quoted at 135 each. This pass included the salt cave, oxygen bar and infrared sauna. A "day pass" lasts 2 hour and 15 minutes. We walked in and were asked to take off our shoes and pick from a basket of unorganized slides. The salt room was absolutely absorbing of minerals and all the other benefits, or we hope, but the chairs were Walmart quality lawn chairs that awkwardly fit in the space and were gross. We were a group of four and split in half because the infrared sauna was a tiny two person sauna that had a 5 10" women's knees at the door of the sauna while both people in the sauna could see the sink and toilet in the room through the mirror directly over the sink in front of the sauna. The result of this saunas experience was, "I could fit one of these saunas in my basement apartment." Any sort of curtains to help one forget they were in a bathroom while in a sauna would have been helpful. The most wildly disappointing part was the oxygen bar. The chairs seemed like they were from ikea and had no neck support, didn't fit in the room and wouldn't recline all the way. Literally resulting in two people with uncomfortable necks and resulting pain . Most majorly we had an amazing front desk woman who was there to guide our apparently two hour "day pass" and all she did was usher us from room to room to keep track out our times, I.e 45 min in the salt cave, 35 in the Sauna etc, and then... during check out had a MANDATORY 20% gratuity that was not communicated over the phone booking. Over all we had a good time because we are best friends but we were split up, over charged and wildly disappointed by the office turned spa settings. This place takes advantage of customers, is not clear of business expectations and should not be providing these services to anyone else.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed at our experience considering the high price. We bought a "day" pass which really only meant 2 hours of getting shuffled around from room to room. I came in with 3 girlfriends to enjoy a relaxing spa day , and while we had a good time because we love each other and can turn any experience positive, this experience was completely overpriced. The spa is cramped, the salt cave small and the oxygen room felt like a doctors office waiting room. We had no time for ourselves to just go at our own pace and enjoy the spa. Instead we were shooed around on a timeline. We had to be split up for the sauna because the sauna is a small box inside a bathroom. We did have a good giggle while staring out ourselves and the toilet through the sauna door in the bathroom mirror. For context, I just booked a 60 minute massage at a spa in snowbird, Utah that includes a full day pass--saltwater rooftop pool, hot tub, eucalyptus steam room, lounge chairs, drinks etc. for $175. The 2-hour "experience" at pure beauty ended up costing $150! We were shocked to learn at the end... as we were checking out... that there was an automatic 20% gratuity added! There was no signage and we were not informed of this when we called to book, or at any moment while we were at the spa. I found this to be outrageous-- I'm not sure what the 20% gratuity was for as we did not receive a service? Also, if that is the route you are going... you MUST make it very clear-- at booking and with signage on the website and the front desk. Bummed about how much we spent for this.

Yelp
Called to make a makeup appointment for my elopement in September. They're the only place in town I've found that has a makeup artist and it's a minimum of 6 people (so the party of 2 for my mom and I is out) and on top of that I said I was interested in eyes only and nothing on my cheeks as I have very sensitive skin and was told by Julie, "that's not something they do" glad to hear ahead of time that listening to your clients on what they want for THEIR day is not something you do. The search continues....

Yelp
Terrible customer service. I will not be recommending this spa to friends and family when they book their vacations in Telluride. They weren't able to accommodate my request to change appointment time and i'm only here for a limited amount of time. Really disappointing.

Yelp
Joanne was a life saver. She made special arrangements for me because, I had dislocated my shoulder on the ski slopes the day prior. I was in pure misery after being up all night the night before with Chronic pain. Joanne worked me in their busy schedule, and treated me with Cryo therapy pain management (which is the equivelant to icing my shoulder for 5 hours, but only took 5 minutes. I was in instant pain relief. She also recommended the salt cave which I also did. Thank You sooooo much Joanne and Pure Beauty and Wellness center. You made the rest of my vacation bearable.

Yelp
Joanna did awesome eyelash extensions for me - all the things you look for hygienic, very detailed and overall a great result. She's also really nice to talk to . Highly recommended

Yelp
I scheduled at the last minute and got a half-hour treatment in the infrared sauna (followed by a shower) and then an abdominal massage (which included some reflexology and a brief head/neck/shoulders massage). I thought that Joanna was very skilled at giving the massage and very pleasant. Massage in Telluride in general is pretty expensive, but this was a good treatment. I will likely go back on future trips to this town.

Yelp
The Spa Pass with Massage and Facial was just what the doctor ordered. I went from feelings crumby to fabulous after just an afternoon at this cute little spa right downtown filled with salt lamp glow and contemporary style. I can't recommend Pure, Beauty & Wellness enough! Saved my vacation and was a very fair value too!

Suanne W.

Yelp
Very underwhelming experience. The staff was so unfriendly and unhelpful. I had to change in the actual salt cave and try and hang all my belongings including all my clothes on a small hook. My things ended up being strewn about the salt cave floor. I had other issues as well and tried to solve them with a phone call instead of a review. The owner, Joanna was not receptive or interested in making things right for me. The poor service, subpar massage, and negative interaction with the owner was super disappointing. I won't be recommending this spa to family or friends and will never visit again. Pass this one up when looking for a spa in Telluride.

Yelp
Joanna gave a wonderful massage, stretch and facial. She was very accommodating and very knowledgeable about the body. She knew exactly how to treat my aches and pains. The facial was not only relaxing, but had me glowing the rest of the day. The Isun products she used were so delicious, I bought quite a few to continue using at home. Would highly recommend her!

Yelp
Came here for vacation and came across this amazing little spa right in the heart of town! Just a short distance from the gondola. Got a massage/facial combo and it truly was amazing. I feel so much better after a long day of snowboarding! Plus the woman who runs the spa is a sweetheart! Definitely recommend! 5 stars!

Yelp
Such a relaxing way to spend our last day in Telluride! After hiking, rafting, and paragliding it was great to sooth the body, mind and soul. I went to this spa with my sisters, and we booked last minute. After struggling to schedule with multiple other spas we came across Pure. The owner was extremely accommodating. She managed to juggle 3 massages along with time for each of us to enjoy the salt cave, sauna and oxygen rooms. The massage was my favorite part. This massage is NO JOKE! She makes sure to hit every nerve and muscle. This massage is also not one for the weak, she puts on the pressure and I loved it! If you are having any pain in certain parts of the body this massage will work it out. I highly recommend this spa if you just want to relax after mountain activities.

Yelp
My experience at Pure Beauty Spa for lash extensions was one of cleanliness, professionalism, and a job well done. I will definitely be back to experience the Salt Cave next time I am in town.
