Me and my girlfriend went for a lovely dinner here when we were staying at a nearby glamping spot. We had some gorgeous pizzas, chips and I had a great Guinness!! The staff and service were absolutely amazing. Our server was a lovely local girl called Rosa who was like an absolute workhorse and such a pleasure to be around. She was looking after so many tables and still had the pleasure and deceny to be so joyful and energetic in her work. Thank you Rosa and thank you Pure Magic!

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Not Worth the Price I stayed at Pure Magic Achill Island for 2 nights, and it was the worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had. We chose it based on the good online reviews and clean photos, and paid €270 just for the room. However, upon arrival, I was completely shocked. The room was not clean — there was hair all over the bed, and the bed linen clearly hadn’t been freshly changed. When I complained, I was offered another room with a double bed, single bed, and bunk beds for two of us and it was even worse. The room smelled like an old college hostel and had a tiny bathroom roughly partitioned with hardboard. When I asked for a refund to find another place, they refused, leaving me no choice but to stay in the first room. The shower water didn’t drain properly, the toilet wobbled when sitting on it, and even the towel was jammed into the sink. The whole building was old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Overall, it was a total nightmare. Definitely not worth the money and I do not recommend this place at all.

The room we had was small and cramped. The pipes behind the bed woke us up every night. There’s no hooks and nowhere to hang clothes. The en suite was tiny and dirty; the shower (which is smaller than a phone booth) has a dirty old rope on the door to open and close it and doesn’t drain properly, and we found hair and dirt on the walls when we arrived- and had to ask for it to be cleaned. There is a rickety sliding door to give you privacy from the en suite. The communal areas are nice. The food is ok. They don’t have laundry and they don’t organise activities as they advertise (we asked and they just said they’d pass on someone’s number to us). I have no idea why this got a good review in lonely planet. We’ve stayed at places all over our trip through Ireland for the same price and this was a total rip off by comparison. Really below the standards of everywhere else we’ve stayed. Would strongly advise staying elsewhere.

Super comfortable double room. It is small, but has everything you need. Hot shower, comfortable bed. A nice common area to hang out. An attached restaurant. It is a gorgeous location on the slopes of Achill’s biggest mountain. Highly recommended.

Pure Magic is a place close to my heart. I’ve stayed here many times, and it never disappoints. Nestled at the foot of Slievemore Mountain, it’s perfect for a peaceful, tranquil break. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and easy-going. The food is excellent—highlights for me are the lasagne, which is a special, the warming seafood chowder, and the decadent white chocolate crème brûlée. Breakfast is just as good, with perfectly poached eggs and a great balance of healthy bites and hearty indulgence. Keel Beach is a short cycle or drive away, perfect for a morning dip in the Atlantic. From the property, you can also enjoy walks to an impressive megalithic site and the Deserted Famine Village—great hikes without being too strenuous. I can’t recommend this place enough.

The food on our evening visit was great but we didn't have such a positive visit for brunch. The morning menu was overpriced and the food was below standard. However the evening food was excellent and the service was very good.
