I visited Pure Raw Juice bar on a Sunday ~noon. Tucked away on a side street in Fed Hill, Raw Juice is small.. but had a line almost to the door! I knew this had to be good. The interior is small, maybe 5 seats at their bar, where you can chat with their "juice-tenders." Really nice guys, and excited about the store and what they did. One guy even shared a video of the new Towson location to my friend and I as we chatted and ate our Acai/Pitaya bowls.
The menu is small, but I liked that. Maybe 3-5 varieties of each (Pitaya vs. Acai). Topped simply with things like fresh/dried fruit, coconut, granola.. with options to add in a protein supplement. They also had a smoothie menu, coffee (STEEP at $3.. no options for smaller sizes), some energy balls you can purchase, refrigerated juice, and the menu said they had kombucha but I didn't see any. First of all, this is sort of a "luxury" and not for someone just looking for a smoothie. Smoothies run you around 10, as do the bowls (smaller size is 24 oz - $9.50 before protein add in, 32 oz. is ~$13). This was kind of shocking to me, but I knew that acai bowls were on the more expensive side. I was surprised the coffee was so expensive too... and it was really nothing special. BUT they did have cashew milk.. no almond milk. I wanted tea, and was raelly surprised that they didn't have it. They did have "matcha lattes" but I passed... don't have those every day. Love matcha, but I would have preferred just matcha tea.
My bowl was delicious and I DID have 1/2 to save for another breakfast. Worth the $10? Sure for a weekend thing, but definitely not every day. I'm sure I'll be back at some point, but sort of an expensive "breakfast" that to the layman, may just seem like a smoothie.
Again, this review is on the quality (which is great!) and overall experience. I knocked off 2 stars for lack of seating and "coziness", lack of beverage menu and overall cost for the area. If I could give 1/2 star for awesome juice-tenders I would
But that bowl SURE IS PRETTY!
