Puri Damai Boutique Losmen

Best location for me on Bali. I’ve been coming here for many years, and by now have gotten to know the locals pretty well, and have made many life long friends. Puri Damai is hosted by the amazingly lovely Ayu, a woman really well connected to many successful ventures on the island, and therefore really well respected by the community. Something I discovered later, but also something she would never boast about. True class. The rooms are authentic, the service is oh so nice and respectful. The beach is around the corner, where they serve the best Bass on the island, and even though you’re in the middle of the beating heart of the island, Puri Damai will bring you peace and tranquility. Absolutely superb!

A great property. Convenient location with the beach genuinely close by and a short walk to a variety of the cafes, bars and shops that Bali is famous for. The street outside is reasonably quiet and while the property is older, it is well maintained. Puri Demai provides excellent value.

Beware booking this property. We booked this hotel via email as there is no online booking system. I booked about 4 weeks ago. We arrived on a late flight to find that they had no booking, even though I had confirmed the booking that same day. We were then shipped to another hotel for the first 2 nights, but we paid top prices and they said that we would have accommodation back at Puri in 2 days - I turned up today and there is no booking and they are fully booked. We have had to find last minute accommodation in high season. It has cost us extra $1000 for the week. super disappointed in this as is a lovely hotel with nice reception staff. Would recommend the hotel normally but you cannot run a place like this - so be warned with the person who books the place. Worst experience ever in dealing with her .

Just spent three weeks at Puri Damai in suite No.6. Double bed with direct views over the pool. Overall a very pleasant experience. Staff were all very nice and helpfull with management very low key. Basically equipped kitchen with medium sized fridge - all very adequate. Only adverse comment I would offer is that the open verandah and dining area were extremely hot during the days . There is only one ceiling fan and frankly it was inadequate. The bedroom and bathroom are airconditioned very well - no problems there. Over all a happy experience and just hope I can get back some time.

I particularly appreciated the outdoor area that opened off my room, featuring a well-equipped kitchen, a dining area with a table and chairs, and lots of comfortable seating under an overhead fan—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The pool at Losman Hotel is yet another highlight. It was clean, sparkling, and private, a well-maintained oasis away from the bustle of the beach. The fact that it is adults-only added to the tranquil ambiance, making it an ideal spot to relax. The location of the hotel is fantastic, with a wide array of cafes and shops just a short walk away, and the beach is easily accessible. This makes it incredibly convenient for anyone looking to explore the local area without having to travel far. Overall, my stay at Losman Hotel was delightful. The combination of excellent service, beautiful surroundings, and a great location makes this hotel a gem in Legian, Bali. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful yet accessible getaway!

As regular guests pre Covid we returned to Puri Damai after a 3 year break.|We were so happy to be warmly welcomed back & were impressed with the way the complex is looking. Fresh coats of paint bathrooms updated & the gardens just as beautiful as ever.|Yes it is rustic but that is part of the properties appeal. |Our room was cleaned thoroughly everyday & the staff were always smiling & eager to assist us.|If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay with more space than just a hotel room. Hidden gem in a top location! Just spent 3 fabulous weeks. Close to shops, restaurant's, 4min walk down laneway to beach. Owner Ayu and staff exceptionally friendly, attentive and efficient. Has the authentic Bali vibe we love, beautiful gardens, pool and boutique villas that are fully equipped with kitchen, lounge, balcony / relaxing area, separate lockable bedroom / en-suite with safe. Already booked for 2025. A must to visit!

Puri Damai ticks all the boxes if you are seeking an authentic Balinese style of accommodation. Each apartment is well equipped and so spacious with comfortable balconies that overlook the immaculate peaceful gardens. Just a short stroll down the nearby lane takes you to the beachfront and restaurants. The staff are friendly and always available to assist you to ensure you have a wonderful stay.
