Yet another great stay at the Puri Santrian 30 November to December in the Premium Deluxe rooms. Two couples, two rooms. ||We booked in April and requested room 350 where we have stayed for many years or nearby. We were given a room on the second rather than the requested third floor. I objected at check in and we were then given a third floor room that looked directly onto a roof with no other view. Third try - room 347 the next day. Wonderful! ||Lovely staff, gardens. Lovely returning guest coordinator Yuli, who gets things done! We were offered a free meal at the mezzanine restaurant - superb. The breakfast offerings now include a small gluten free selection, thank you. Much appreciated.||I had a birthday while here. The hotel provided a cake x2, flowers, cards and big 72 balloons denoting age. The staff would've sung happy birthday at breakfast but being a shy reticent type, I opted out. Your birthday can be a Big Event if you want it to be here. Not me.||We bought our neighbours here for the second time. We all loved it. This hotel is very special, mostly due to its staff and Balinese owners. Yes, it could do with some modernisation, especially in the club rooms (but what a fantastic pool!) Location-wise unbeatable. ||The only sour note this time was no fault of the Puri Santrian hotel. We were appalled to see what has happened at the end of the beach walk path at Mertasari. What a mess. Kite flying no more, a fenced off music arena that had miked up people screeching/screaming hysterically loudly over the top of crap music. Lots of rubbish/motorbikes. Awful. No peace, calm, serenity, chill environment. No Bali feel, just noise+++++++++||This made us treasure the Puri Santrian vibe all the more when we got back to it (10 minutes walk).
