Puro Surf Hotel & Performance Academy

Had an amazing experience at Puro! The grounds are beautiful, the room spacious and clean. The pool was amazing looking over the water. All the staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was great (chicken fingers were surprisingly amazing for a snack!) and lots of options for lunch/dinner.||Our surf coach, Bauti, was exceptional. He was so kind and patient and really focused on each student. He gave excellent feedback, and was genuinely excited when we did well. I have learned more in 4 days here than in all my 5 years surfing.

Puro is super organized, clean, and the staff is amazing. |I’ve never been on a surfboard before, but the lessons were perfect for a first time experience. I felt comfortable from the start and had a blast learning.|Ale was an amazing coach and we’ll definitely be back to learn from him again! ||The Covana restaurant is a highlight as well. The food is delicious, and they’ve got great options for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The service is top-notch, too!||If you’re looking for a fun, active vacation with a focus on wellness, this place has it all. Great vibes, great food, and an unforgettable experience! Highly recommend!

if you are wanting a stress free, beautiful place to stay then Puro Surf is for you. My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and we do not have enough wonderful things about this place. The food is pretty good, the vibes of the hotel are very tranquil. The people here are absolutely amazing and so helpful! Everything in town is within walking distance and i would highly recommend walking around in El Zonte. If youre on the fence about booking please JUST BOOK IT!! you will not regret it.

Loved the stay. Great location, amazing surf instructors, great food.|I did the full adventure package but also tacked on extra surfing sessions and also did all the classes they offer. All of them were great. Special shout out to Santos, my surf instructor. His feedback on my technique was very specific and actionable which helped me improve a lot.

Epic location & super nice staff! Great waves out front for beginners & rippers. Caves and tide pools walking distance, beautiful ocean views, & great food @ Covana Kitchen. Watch out for rip currents and the incoming tide. 10/10 stay and will be back every year.

Beautiful property, gorgeous beach, great pools, large and nice rooms. They obviously cater to surfers, but we are not surfers and just wanted a nice beach hotel in the area to explore that part of the country. For us at least, it was a great family beach vacation for non-surfers. We were there in late November and the beach was basically sandy with a few stones here and there and very good for swimming. The surfers were all father out. Food was pretty good and priced reasonably for a nice beach hotel, service was good by Salvadoran standards, which may be a little slower than you're used to in an American restaurant. There are lots of walkable restaurants in the little town, some priced cheaper than the restaurants in the nice hotels. We did an excursion to Taminique waterfalls, which was incredible. The hike is not long, but it's strenuous up and down and it was a mistake to bring my 70-year-old mother-in-law. I wish the hotel offered a few more excursions or some flexibility in putting them together, though I suppose most guests are there for the surfing. We were able to negotiate with the waterfall guide to take us to Tazumal and then Coatepeque the next day, and both of those were awesome. We are definitely coming back.

Oh my goodness, this place!! Heavenly. The setting is perfection, with a stunning view everywhere you look and the staff are absolutely wonderful. From the delightful people at reception, to activity instructors, and of course the surf coaches, Puro Surf is a MUST! If you’re even considering it, DO IT! You won’t regret it.
