Purple Lantern Restaurant( An Bang Beach Hoi An )

This is a great stop Just outside of Hoi An ancient city, away from the tourists. The food is great! I especially enjoyed the grilled whole red snapper, definitely recommend! Also ask the server to whip up some chilli sauce, it was delicious and went well with everything! We also had the scallops, pork and chicken clay pot, and the morning glory, all were very great!

We came here 10 years ago when it first opened and was just 8 tables. Came back 3 years ago with the kids and now again. Every time this place hits the mark. Na’s food is amazing. The whole family is there to serve. Worth the trip! The grilled seafood is well priced and the grilled beef was my daughters favourite thing in all of Vietnam

The space is beautiful, the family is very friendly but the food is out of this world. It may have been one of the best whole fish that we have had. The mixed combo appetizer was perfect for sharing. The bottle of wine we got was a perfect pairing for our food

Every time I return to Hoi An, Purple Lantern is at the top of my list—and for good reason. The kindness and warmth from the two sisters who run this place are unmatched. Their hospitality makes you feel like you’re coming home. The food is out of this world. We started with the local appetizer platter—each bite bursting with authentic flavor. The Vietnamese pancakes were crispy perfection, and the scallops stole the show: fresh, tender, and beautifully seasoned. My personal favorite was the eggplant in a clay pot—the sauce was so rich and flavorful I could’ve eaten it with a spoon. We finished with the grilled fish, which was incredibly fresh and grilled to perfection. Their recommendations are always spot on, and you can tell each dish is made with love. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is thoughtful. It’s that perfect mix of home-cooked comfort and culinary delight. Thank you again to the lovely sisters for creating such a special place. Purple Lantern is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience I look forward to every time I’m in Hoi An.

I ate at Purple Lantern in Hoi An and ordered the BBQ seafood with charcoal along with a watermelon juice. It was the best watermelon juice I’ve had, fresh and with no sugar added. The seafood was delicious, flavorful, and not greasy. The service was excellent, and the restaurant had a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. They even gave me a free passion fruit for dessert, which was such a nice touch.

Ki delivered the best service! Always welcoming. The food is outstanding. The Steamed Snapper is fresh and prepared well. The Papaya Salad fresh and crisp. Morning Glory is delicious. Highly Recommended.

We really enjoyed eating here, there is a large outside dining area that's cooled by fans. The whole restaurant is decorated with signature paper lanterns, and purple neon lights. We ordered the grilled whole red snapper and lemongrass chicken. They both came with rice and were hot and fresh. The snapper was delicious and fresh, I'd come back for that time and time again, the chicken was very tasty too. The hosts/ wait staff were friendly and couldn't be more accommodating, they asked if we wanted it spicy or not and even gave us some passion fruit for palete cleansers. I'm sure we will be back.
