Every time I return to Hoi An, Purple Lantern is at the top of my list—and for good reason. The kindness and warmth from the two sisters who run this place are unmatched. Their hospitality makes you feel like you’re coming home.
The food is out of this world. We started with the local appetizer platter—each bite bursting with authentic flavor. The Vietnamese pancakes were crispy perfection, and the scallops stole the show: fresh, tender, and beautifully seasoned. My personal favorite was the eggplant in a clay pot—the sauce was so rich and flavorful I could’ve eaten it with a spoon. We finished with the grilled fish, which was incredibly fresh and grilled to perfection.
Their recommendations are always spot on, and you can tell each dish is made with love. The flavors are balanced, the ingredients are fresh, and the presentation is thoughtful. It’s that perfect mix of home-cooked comfort and culinary delight.
Thank you again to the lovely sisters for creating such a special place. Purple Lantern is not just a restaurant—it’s an experience I look forward to every time I’m in Hoi An.
