Purple Nest Hostel Valencia

I was not happy with my stay. Here is why: Management was very chaotic, we had to change rooms and leave the first room at 11 and we're only able to check in again 4 hours later. We were only told later why and that they were sorry and got given coupons for the breakfast which we didn't use as there was nothing vegan but even if you're not vegan, the breakfast is definately not worth 6 euros: It is raw eggs you have to self cook, cold cheap meats and low quality bread. The coffee was very low quality too. In one floor they did construction work and the whole corridor was completely dusty. Most of the staff was friendly but seemed stressed out and overwhelmed also with customer complaints for example about the construction work, which probably leads back to poor management. So if the owner reads this: please work on your management skills and don't blame your employees. Also it wasnt too clean- the kitchen floors we're cleaned but never the surfaces, bathroom was okay. Another thing to be aware of which I think is not clear when booking: this is a youth hostel where huge groups of children stay at, which is not exactly the vibe we we're looking for. The rooms and beds we're fine but we weren't given beddings for our first night. For one night probably okay but I wouldn't stay there again.

Absolutely brilliant. Went on their organised pub crawl so good for getting a feel of the city’s night life. Facilities are clean and hostel beds are actually comfy which is such a nice change. Good kitchen that has a fridge and storage for everyone. Handy for making a holiday cheap. Locations quite central with good bus connections

Be super careful booking with this hotel as even if you are forced to cancel because your flight lands into a natural disaster and you have medical conditions that prohibit landing in such conditions, they will not cancel your booking. I had to cancel, gave heaps of notice and they still refused to cancel despite them being in the middle of a natural disaster zone where I was advised by my client on the ground that public transport was crowded and hard to access due to the flood. The staff i dealt with prior to the flood via email were rude and short. I wasn't even able to give the booking to my client trapped on the ground. Just disgraceful. Be warned.

Best hostel in Valencia. Really great location central to best food and museums. The 24hr service is great as well. Richard behind the front desk is really accommodating and overall the staff is very friendly!

Basically, the hostel is in a very good location in the city, available at a very good price. The only problem we had with the room was that the walls are thin, so you can hear everything from the corridor. It's not good to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to a girl crying and howling. The people there don't care about each other. The breakfast was delicious. The staff is nice.

Whoever thought of those torture devices called '' ladder '' on the beds should be thrown in jail. lol. To get to the top bunk is actually painful. I think the common ''social'' area of the hostel looks a bit too much like a prison. Come on- make it cozy, put some couches, etc. The location and staff are great, but there is room for improvement.

The location and staff were wonderful! The only things I didnt love about this hostel was that it felt quite unclean. As well as the beds just didn't feel secure, the curtain only covers one side, leaving a huge gap on one side if your bed doesnt happen to face a wall. So everyone in the room can just look into your bed... Other than that it was a perfectly fine hostel.

Good decent hostel. Enjoyed my stay and the room had beautiful view. The kitchen and dining hall was massive. Thanks to the staff who gave me ice compress pack on my last night. Recommended.

Had an awesome stay here for two nights. The service was extremely helpful, the beds were comfortable, and most importantly everyone working here was simply very kind to us. Makes you want to come back. Would highly recommend the spot to any travelers in Valencia looking for an affordable place to stay!

I'm staying here with a large group of students. It's everything that you'd expect from a hostel, but I've had way better experiences in other hostels around Spain. Firstly, the air conditioning in my room did not work. Not having AC in Spain is actually quite common, but they do have AC. The one in my room in particular just didn't work. There are NO windows in the room to open. So overall, it was extremely hard to sleep because the room was super stuffy and hot. Secondly, the night shift staff isn't attentive or helpful. People were ringing the bell to be let into the hostel, the front desk person heard the bell but just let it ring. I literally watched him sit and let the bell ring while people where standing outside to be let into the hostel they're paying to stay in. It's ok on cleanliness. Great on location. Everything else is super meh. I'm not a fan and would never stay here again.

Absolutely loved this place! The rooms are clean and the staff is so friendly! They let us borrow towels to take to the beach. When we returned they even allowed us to use the communal showers despite being checked out already. Would definitely recommend!

The Purple Nest is perfect for exploring the Old Town and the nightlife in the city, but it's not the greatest location if all you want to do is go to the beach. It's a nice flash hostel and the air/con goes from 11pm-11am in the summertime. There's a bar downstairs, the receptionists are all lovely and willing to help, and there are heaps of maps showing the metro, local markets and other places of interest. The cleaners do a really good job but don't get in their way because they'll mop over your feet! hehe

My stay at this hostel was absolutely fantastic. For starters, the staff was awesome and super helpful when it came to things to do in Valencia. They were also helpful in finding public transport. The hostel was clean and the atmosphere was great. They had a great common room with a bar and a terrace above, both areas were great to converse with new friends. The rooms were clean and spacious and the kitchen was pretty decently sized as well. The only down side was probably the bathrooms as they smelt sort of funky and the showers were either burning hot or cold, it was difficult to find a good temperature. They were well connected with a tour group called tour me out. The staff from this tour group was phenomenal as well. The hostel offered free tours through this tour group and a pub crawl(12€) as well, all of which I highly recommend! They offer a buffet for breakfast for 3€ although I never tried it so I cannot say whether it is worth the money or not. The bar inside has happy hour downstairs starting at 8 PM and during happy hour they have beer pong tournaments and specials. One night while I was there, the tour group came in and gave us free pasta for dinner!! Lastly, one other downside to this hostel is that the top bunks don't have a plug in nearby so if you're worried about your phone being stolen and you're on the top bunk, I would recommend switching to a bottom bunk. All in all, great hostel and I have been recommending it to my friends for the future!

My group of four stayed one night in the purple nest and had a great time. The people were helpful, the bartender was fun, and the space was clean. This hostel was one of the more rambunctious hostels that I visited in Spain. As is often the case when traveling, there were many australians raging the night away and we were more than happy to join them. The location is very central, leaving many sites in close walking distance.

good place. very central. friendly staff and clean. i am not giving it a 5 star rating because of the annoying purple light (even in the rooms; almost makes you want to pimp out your gf). I know it is called purpled nest but it has been slightly overdone. If you want to meet drunk english people this is the place to come to.
