Pushkin Cafe Restaurant

Bizarre pictures of playwrights on wall. Check. Crazy history canvas including Stalin, Thatcher, Lincoln, Einstein, Putin and a smorgasbord random selection of other historical figures. Check. Service is just as random as the decoration. And the food expensive for the quality. Still good if you arrive late on the Dogu Ekspress and need a late night place to eat but temper your expectations. Despite carefully ordering our order was messed up and bill not the best value for the quality.

PROS The servers were nice and friendly. The show was incredible. The ambience of the restaurant was on par. CONS The food wasn’t great. The boneless goose had bits of bone in it. The service was a bit slow since they are so busy. Note: Make sure to get a reservation ahead of time. They seem to fill up even on the off season on weekdays. I still would recommend moreso than Kale Restaurant (the only other show I went to) since the show is more intimate. Perhaps ordering the hengel (a local ravioli style dish) is the way to go.

Totally overrated. I don't know what is so special about very chewy goose meat. It's not what's cracked up to be. The lamb was not any better either. The soup was good. The service was insignificant. I don't recommend it and I personally wouldn't try it again.

If you visit Kars then this restaurant has to be on your list. We went on a Monday evening (7pm-10.30pm). Make sure you make a reservation as it is very busy. The place is warm, very comfortable, and has a great atmosphere. The food was delicious (make sure you try the goose) and the entertainment amazing. Great value for money and what an experience.

A fantastic experience. The food is delicious here, and the service is equally as impressive. Try the tea which is infused with bergamot. Absolutely incredible. Worth checking out if you’re visiting.

My wife and I enjoyed a scrumptious Turkish breakfast at the Pushkin Cafe Restaurant a few days ago. The spread was generous, staff were very attentive, and we even met the lady chef. We ate some honeycomb for the first time and it was simply divine! The restaurant is nicely decorated and was extremely clean. Given the freshness and the quality of the food, it was such an inexpensive meal. Highly recommended.

The room is quite nice. Me (vegetarian) and my friend ate there but the food lacked seasoning and it wasn't really orienteted to quality rather quantity. We were quite disappointed. Also it was rather expansive. Ayran was super! But we didn't go there for ayran...

Absolutely underwhelming experience. If you are a foreigner, don't waste your time with this restaurant. There are better restaurants with cheaper prices and way more value. Service is chaotic. We had to ask for the menu - twice. We ordered a goose leg, but they served something else without asking first - they had no goose leg left. Food is average. Compared to other restaurants in town underwhelming. In the end we paid cash and the waiter just took the change as a tip without asking. It's sad, it's a nice atmosphere, but i would never go back.
