"Dynamic British designer Thomas Heatherwick was the star of Design Shanghai in 2024, and his 1,000 Trees project in northwest Shanghai is on track to be a nature-enhanced mixed-use mall next to Suzhou Creek. Seedlings already sprout from the development’s sci-fi-like planter-pillars. Look out for fruit and flowering trees, evergreens, and more as Phase Two of the project comes into bloom in 2025."
