Putu's Wild Ginger

I can't appreciate more the food I had here. If food is meant to be, it's meant to be like this. What I had was simple, understated and traditional. A tofu/tempeh curry with rice and their warm herb drink. The food was light, simple and beautiful. Not too big a portion. For this I'm not complaining at all. I state it because in Western culture we tend to want to over-indulge on heavy laden food. This place gets it right in every way. I'm a Western trained naturopath with a focus in nutrition and herbal med. I have been a vegetarian for 30yrs. The herb drink was the most perfect thing I have ever drank. This is the most perfectly balanced and delicious food I have ever had and what a shame if it goes unrecognized. Bravo.

Amazing family run restaurant! Highly recommended! Very clean and super friendly owners. We have dinner several times during our stay in Ubud and never disappointed. We tried each item on the menu and every dish was simply delicious! Even guacamole, despite being far from the Mexican one, was really delicious. You can definitely recognize that food is made with love and at the moment. On top of that, they always customized dish to make it 100 % suitable for our daughter, we really appreciate🤗

After living in Ubud for 6 months I can definitely say this is my favourite warung. Lovely family who owns it, food is absolutely delicious - I love their Vegetarian Nasi Campur. Highly recommend!

We loved our experience here. The family is lovely and the food was delicious. Recommendation: Have dessert - you won’t regret it ;) The atmosphere in contrast to the insanely busy roads is really pleasant and calming. Unfortunately the green scenery in front of the restaurant from a picture of eight years ago is gone. Well, that’s what Bali in general experiences, I guess.. I hope hidden gems like this restaurant can sustain the big chains.

Such a charming little restaurant with only a few tables. The food was absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. We had both starters and mains and left perfectly full – I’d actually recommend getting both, as the portions aren’t huge (or maybe we were just extra hungry 😂). It’s family-run, and we loved supporting the local community by dining here.

While we loved their nasi campur, we didn’t like the mie goreng too much. Still, a valid choice in a nice Balinese style with a lovely family ❤️
