Stunning scenery in the sounding valley. Delicious food, great coffee and got to meet the local cows. Highly recommend if passing through the area!

The place is lovely with great views. The cheese scone also great. I have marked down because I had been looking forward to trying their cheese on toast but it wasn’t available. I can’t understand how a cheese shop can’t have cheese on toast available. Might be a bit petty but worth stating as it is an easy remedy. Also I do think the cheese is overpriced. $20 for a 140g block of their vintage. Having said a nice visit and good to see the cheese making process.

Great little Cafe here worth visiting. Staff were friendly. We had a cheese platter. Hadn't tried their cheese before, and it was excellent. It was great to see the cows being milked too. The cows walk themselves into a self milking machine whenever they need to. Top place to check out when on the east coast.

What a wonderful accidental find. We followed google looking for a coffee and found so much more. We couldn’t resist buying cheese after tasting the tasty samples. We followed our coffees with delicious ice cream that we enjoyed as we watched the cows happily wander in for milking. Wonderful views, kind bubbly staff and great service. Please put up more road signs so more people can find this beautiful place. Highly recommended!!!

Lovely cafe, great cheese and tastings. Out the back you can watch the cows getting milked in the automatic milker.

Nestled in the heart of Tasmania, the Pyengana Cheese Factory offers more than just incredible cheese – it's an experience that embodies the essence of happy cows and wholesome produce. One of the most delightful aspects of this farm is their dedication to the comfort and well-being of their cows. After being milked, the cows head straight to a back scratcher – a little luxury they absolutely adore. Watching them enjoy this pampering is a joy in itself and speaks volumes about the care and respect the factory has for its animals. It's clear that these happy cows are the secret to their exceptional cheese. Speaking of cheese, it’s simply delicious. Every bite is a testament to their dedication to quality and tradition. Whether you’re sampling the aged cheddar or one of their other specialty varieties, the flavors are rich and satisfying. Our visit was made even more special with a serve of their freshly baked scones, accompanied by generous dollops of jam and cream. The scones were perfectly fluffy, and the homemade jam was bursting with flavor – a true taste of Tasmania. The Pyengana Cheese Factory is a must-visit destination for cheese lovers and anyone looking to connect with the charm of country life. The combination of happy cows, quality produce, and heartwarming hospitality makes this place truly unforgettable.

The smell of the milk is so good. The taste is also very creamy and milky. We got the chai latte which was so delicious. The soup got some cheese so it was a little bit too cheesy to me. The farm and the cows were very lovely. They also offered cheese tasting and heaps of souvenirs, including gin.

The cafe has new owners and is nothing like it used to be. A massive disappointment. The menu has been reduced, removing our favourite late breakfast options. When we visited in mid Feb half of it was marked as unavailable. The staff took 30 minutes to cook chips to go with my BLT, then we watched them pull it completely pre-made from the fridge before serving it straight to us. Still cold, not toasted, and with uncooked bacon fat hanging out one side. No different to what I could make at home for $5. We used to be regulars but we'll never go back.

Yelp
Fantastic stop if you're hungry on your way from Launceston to the Bay of Fires. The dairy does frequent cheese tasting during the day, with an informative spiel about each cheese. The Holy Cow Cafe has good daily specials, and of course includes cheese platters. While you eat lunch, you can even watch the cows line up for milking. Definitely add to the Tasmanian itinerary.
