Pynes House

I’ve photographed at Pynes House several times now, and I absolutely love coming back. The grounds are stunning, the rose garden, fountain, and that iconic tree-lined drive leading up to the beautiful house never fail to take my breath away. But for me, it’s not just about how picturesque it all is. What really makes Pynes House so special is the atmosphere and the people. The team here are always so welcoming, kind, and professional. They make everything run smoothly and create such a warm environment for couples, guests, and suppliers alike. It’s always a highlight when I get to photograph here!

We got married at Pynes House in May 2025 and honestly, it was a dream from start to finish. The house is absolutely stunning — From the moment we drove up the tree-lined driveway, we knew we had found something the venue for us! The grounds were gorgeous, and the views/house made the perfect backdrop for photos. What really stood out was the team. They were super friendly, organised, and made the whole planning process so much easier. On the day we had Phoebe, who made sure everything ran so smoothly — we didn’t have to worry about a thing and could just enjoy ourselves. The bar staff as well lead by Jay were amazing, highly recommend having a cocktail hour. Having the house for the whole weekend made such a difference and made it feel really personal. It felt like we were hosting an amazing house party with our closest friends and family, which is exactly the vibe we wanted. The bedrooms are all beautiful and waking up there the morning after with everyone was just the best. If you're thinking about booking Pynes House — do it. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better venue. It was perfect. We just want to do it all over again!!

The gorgeous, stately yet cosy Pynes House formed the backdrop for our dream wedding in May 2025. It really was the perfect venue – set behind the rolling hills just outside of Exeter, the house exuded class and character and has been impeccably maintained. Just a 5-minute drive from Exeter St David’s station, its location couldn’t have been more convenient, although it always felt incredibly private thanks to a long driveway leading up to the house, lined by stately fir trees. Whilst spacious and versatile, it also retained warmth and cosiness due to its elegant proportions. The grounds were also spectacular; with the rose garden and wisteria really coming to life on a sunny spring day during our drinks reception. For our Saturday wedding, we loved being able to check in on Friday afternoon, checking out at midday on Sunday. Spending the whole weekend in the house with our closest family and friends made the whole occasion feel like an extended big house party. The Pynes House team were responsive, warm and approachable, providing clear instructions throughout and leading up to our big day – a quality we really appreciated given the uncertainties of wedding planning. A huge shoutout to Jay and the drinks team who went out of their way to make us a delicious lychee martini the moment we returned from church as newlyweds. It was the best day of our lives and we are so happy to have celebrated at Pynes House. If you’re looking for the perfect country house in the South West, then look no further!

We had a beautiful wedding weekend at Pynes House, needless to say the setting was stunning but the real game changer was the Pynes House team. Honorata was really excellent; she and Jay made such a positive difference to how smoothly everything flowed on the day and how relaxed we felt in the organisation and run-up!

Pynes House was the most perfect setting for our wedding, we loved every minute! Being able to have the venue for the whole weekend really made it extra special and we were so glad to be able to extend the celebrations. The house, rooms and grounds are absolutely beautiful and so well maintained. A really special place that helped us create a weekend of amazing memories.

I was a bridesmaid for a wedding in October 2025 in Pynes House, and it was absolutely stunning. I could see how the team and the set up put my friends at great ease, and a lot of care and attention was taken to make everything very perfect. Also Phoebe, the Event Manager on the day was such a legend; definitely the MVP of the day and made sure everything ran smooth & more.

Recently stayed here for the weekend for my son’s wedding and what an incredible place Pynes House is!! Amazing bedrooms beautifully decorated with excellent facilities. Friendly staff who stopped at nothing to go the extra mile to make sure the guests had everything they needed. Nothing was too much trouble. The house and grounds are just stunning and beautifully maintained. The drive down to the house along the gravel road between the trees is certainly impressive and instantly made us feel excited for the weekend. The rain poured all weekend, but it didn’t matter one bit as there was plenty of room for all of us in the house and it felt very cosy watching the rain outside the window. It was also absolutely freezing weather, but despite this the house was heated very well and we were warm and cosy all weekend. We were particularly impressed with Phoebe the wedding coordinator who worked hard behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly. Also the caterers, Pickle Shack, were fantastic and provided fantastic food with seamless service. The bar staff were brilliant too, there was rarely a queue for the bar and the drinks were made to a very high standard. All in all a 5 star experience which my family and I will remember forever. Pynes House....A venue that feels totally perfect. It is grand and exquisite and all at the same time so personal and beautiful in size. It's a house that becomes your own for the weekend and one that so perfectly fits everyone in it that you want to celebrate with in a lovely amount of space. It is beautiful in style, atmosphere and feel and it is a venue we feel so blessed to return to and to shoot at. The team are gorgeous and Pickle Shack, the resident caterers produce the BEST food. Pynes House is a place you go to and don't forget. It holds a piece of our hearts and we adore it.
