The good things about this hotel are that the rooms are pleasant and it is in a good location. The young man at reception made every attempt to be helpful, as did the woman who worked hard to connect us to the Internet. That said, the stony faced manager - who watched but did not identify himself as I expressed my concerns about the air conditioner blasting cold air onto the bed - could hardly be described as customer focused. Given that the room had already been paid for we were given no option other than paying for an upgrade. Nor could the untrained staff who stood on watch over a breakfast of coagulated fried rice and noodles, a rigid block of steamed rice, and cold coffee. There was little interest in lighting the burners under the food to keep it warm - not that this would have helped. Pouring our coffee back into the communal coffee jug after we had tasted it and requested hot coffee did not inspire confidence in hygiene standards. The wifi did not work, and the stained carpet in the room was also disappointing. The overall impression was that the hotel's principal client base was local business people, and tourists could be taken or left. The general feeling of the place was not at all welcoming. I would not return there.
