Qasr Al Hosn

I visited Qasr Al Hosn (قصر الحصن) and it was an unforgettable experience. The fort is one of the oldest and most iconic buildings in Abu Dhabi, beautifully restored to preserve its history. Inside, there are interactive exhibits, photographs, and artifacts that tell the story of Abu Dhabi’s transformation from a small fishing village to a modern city. The architecture is stunning, especially the white stone walls, courtyards, and towers. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and there are often traditional performances, workshops, and cultural events taking place. Located in the heart of the city, it’s easy to reach and surrounded by other attractions like the House of Artisans and Erth Restaurant. Overall, Qasr Al Hosn is a must-see destination for history lovers, tourists, and locals who want to connect with the UAE’s heritage. Great location with nearby cafés and attractions

Beautiful palace/fortress in the middle of the city. There’s a great exhibition at the entrance providing the backdrop to visiting the actual palace! There’s building itself is beautifully designed with cleverly designed windows towers to bring coolness in during the hot weather! Plenty of shady areas to shield from the heat!

Worth a visit to understand the country's history and how people lived before modernization. The building itself is quite simple and mostly empty, with display stands in different rooms explaining cultural and political history. Informative and worth seeing, but not the most exciting attraction

Tickets can be purchased either online or at the museum shop across the street. Despite the open windows, the entire complex gets extremely warm — it’s best to visit in the evening. It’s also a good idea to read up on the castle’s history beforehand or join a guided tour. Simply walking through and reading the plaques in each room isn’t particularly engaging.

What a place to visit! It was a very informative and enjoyable experience. We got to see the exact place that the ruling family of Abu Dhabi were living in. The place is well organized and will take you on a time capsule to experience the life in the past. 10/10 destination to anyone who likes museums.

Even after visiting multiple times, I always learn something new and notice details I missed before. It is calm, clean, and beautifully maintained. A perfect place for families, visitors, and anyone who wants to understand the real heritage of the UAE. Qasr Al Hosn is a cultural landmark that everyone should experience at least once.

The exhibitions are well presented and easy to follow and the staff are friendly and helpful. A lovely experience for anyone wanting to learn more about the roots of Abu Dhabi and Emirati culture.

Beautiful historical gem in the city. Surrounded by tall CBD business centers this old castle is gorgeous. We visited early October, it was 35C hot day. Rooms in the castle do not have aircons. Come prepared, grab a fan or smth to keep you cool. Ticket should be purchased in the building next door House of Artisans. Note - they DON’t take cash! House of Artisans is also a great spot to visit.
