Worst Airline Experience Ever! I paid an additional $827 for Exit Row seats on our trip from Atlanta to Maldives in April 2025. They bumped my husband and I from our exit row seats with no explanation and no refund, on all 4 legs of our trip! I have been contacting both them and American Express for 5 months now and Qatar refuses to acknowledge that we did not get the exit row seats we paid for. I have the booking reservation showing the seats I paid for and all of our boarding passes showing the seats we actually got....they are Not the Same! Then to add insult to injury, we were supposed to fly out of Maldives at 7pm and we received a phone call right as our hotel was coming to pick us up to transfer us to the airport (4pm) that they bumped us from our flight and put us on a 2am flight. We argued that we did not accept that but they did not care, they bumped us, again without any kind of compensation. We had a room reserved at the hotel at the Doha airport so we could spend the night before our 8am flight, again, they just didn't care. They never offered us any type of compensation for their overbooked flight, which I know for a fact is common practice among airlines, as I have gotten stipends for voluntarily giving up my seat in the past. I will never fly on Qatar Airlines again, as it doesn't matter what you pay for, they will change it and not compensate you for the downgrade. Worst airline ethics ever! Update- the day I posted this review I received an email from Qatar saying that they were going to refund $827 to me, wow! (Coincidence?). I have in fact received the refund, but it doesn’t change my mind about the airline at all. I’m just glad that after 6 months of fighting for this, they finally did the right thing.

This airline doesn't know who's the customer and also doesn't know how to process payments, and lastly, they don't acknowledge their fault or apologize. Sep 14, 2025 update: These bozos double charged my credit card for a reservation which they simply declined to acknowledge or refund. I was able to dispute the duplicate charge through credit card, but in turn Qatar Airways canceled my reservation without refunding me. Crooked thieves.

Qatar Airways check in personnel were abusive and obnoxious. We had return tickets from Cape Town to Atlanta and we were on the return journey with the luggage we had brought on the inbound trip and they demanded that we reduce our hand luggage to 7.5kgs. They refused to allow us to carry a computer bag as our personal item-which by the way is allowed as per Qatar Airways rules-they said because the computer bags had straps for carrying them on your back they were backpacks and not computer bags. My wife cannot carry hers anymore due to cancer surgery so has to have it on her back. We spent 2 hours packing and repacking bags-they insisted on weighing the carry on bags before they would even check us in. This disgusting treatment by Qatar Airways ground staff has put us off using them to travel back to see our kids in the USA. When we got to Doha and changed flights there was no such carry on baggage weight rule that was being imposed by the Atlanta Qatar Airways ground crew. The airline itself and the crews on the plane are great. However they need to retrain the ground staff and make them more aware of customer service.

Qatar Airport So Amazingly Beautiful, Good Food, Lovely Atmosphere. So Many Store To Shop Beautiful Items To Choose From. The Quality, Is Top Of The Line, With That Said Something Are Very Expensive. Just Walking Around Site Seeing Was Great. I Truly Enjoyed My Layover At The Airport Before My Next Fight!! Have A Blessed Day Everyone ☺️

You are one of the worst airlines I have ever flown with. I had a flight with your airline, and you kept us waiting for two hours in Atlanta, then flew us to Charlotte, where we had to wait another five hours — all without any food or proper care. After that, you sent us back Atlanta on a bus, a five-hour ride, without our luggage. To make things worse, when we finally received our luggage our suitcases were broken, and you offered no compensation whatsoever This experience was completely unacceptable, and I am extremely disappointed with your service

the flight was average, with decent service and food but nothing stood out. the legroom was spacious though, which was a plus.

Didn’t give a crap about my diabetes status. (Type 1) needed it asap on fridge as gel packs melted too quick. Asked the agent she said let me check and never came back. So sad bc I’m now flying back with zero insulin

Title: Qatar Airways' Worst Customer Service – Avoid If You Value Your Money & Time! My recent experience with Qatar Airways was beyond unacceptable. Despite being called the world’s best airline, their customer service is a disgrace. My son travelled as an approved solo traveller from Nairobi to Doha, where I was waiting for him. Qatar Airways Nairobi airport staff REFUSED to let him board, falsely claiming they couldn’t confirm my travel plans—even though: Qatar Airways had already approved the trip I provided all necessary documents & boarding passes. My trip was visible in the Qatar Airways app. The staff refused to check my booking details through OneWorld partners. They forced me to rebook my son’s flight for $650, an unnecessary expense caused by their incompetence. When I raised the issue with Qatar Airways Customer Service, they lied in their response and blamed my family instead of owning their failure. This is not how a top airline treats passengers! If you want stress-free travel, do NOT fly Qatar Airways. Their airport staff are poorly trained, their customer service is unresponsive, and they fail to assist distressed customers. I demand a refund of my $650. The customer service complaint center is simply a platform to shift blame to the customer instead of genuinely trying to settle complaints and satisfy customers on such unnecessary charges that the customer is forced to pay. Qatar Airways, fix your customer service before you lose more loyal customers!

Yelp
I will never fly Qatar airways again. A flight attendant name Diana was awful. The passengers were rude. They need to redo the seats to where they don't recliner all the way back. I couldn't enjoy my movies, the passenger in front of me reclined his seat so far back, to where I couldn't hardly see my screen. I don't advise anyone to travel Qatar Airways. I will make a point not to use their airline.

Yelp
Qatar Airways doesn't deserve a star after the type of workers they have. They are rude, disrespectful and a disgrace. I had everything i needed to board the flight today. The person at the desk let my friends go & told me my test expired already in Dubai & for that reason i cant board the flight. It was a hassle to call these ppl to rebook on the phone longer than a hr, called more than one, had to pay for a covid test it was just stressful. However the plane ride heading to Doha business class was amazing, the food, the champagne, the night clothes, television, wifi the goodies was excellent! I did try the Q-Suits but the flight was only an 1hr from Doha to Dubai so i really didn't enjoy it & they served good too but because the flight was soo quick i couldn't enjoy the food really.

Yelp
Qatar airways they used to be the best but not anymore. The manager at Atlanta airport need to do some mental health evaluation. He's not the right one to represent such airline. I flew on the flight going from Atlanta to Doha QR756 left on July 4th. A lot of new faces I guess they were never trained how to do their job. I will never fly with Qatar airline anymore. It's not just me almost all the people were in the check in line feel the same way.

Yelp
Qatar ground crew supervisor on September 4th is probably one with the worst people skills. Never experienced a more incompetant, rude and untrained personnel in 3 decades of my travelling experience. His off handish, rude and callous attitude makes him inept to work in a customer service role let alone that of a supervisor. Never again on Qatar.

Yelp
This airline is unbelievably dishonest. They advertise that their tickets are refundable and that you can refund segments you don't use (within their timeframe). During the COVID pandemic, they advertised no cancellation fees as well. When I went to get a refund on my unused return ticket, their customer service could not tell me how much I would get back (I assumed it would be something close to 1/2 of the ticket price). They told me that they have a separate refund department that would get back to me. This was in October 2022. Nobody did, so I kept having to go back to their website messaging service (no email address). Week after week, they would tell me that they were looking into it and would get back to me. After following up and chasing them for months, and complaining to the DOT and FAA, I finally got my refund (Feb 2023)...$130 on a ticket that was $9,000!! Upon calling them, they charged me all kinds of cancellation fees, which I'm now trying to get reversed. Sorry, but this sort of business practice is completely dishonest. I will not be supporting this company again. Separate to the ticketing issue, my travel experience was less than stellar also, with issues at the airport where they never came with my wheelchair and were very lax about their in-flight experience. They also advertised my ticket as having a Q-Suite, but when I boarded the flight, it didn't. Many of the passengers were quite upset. All in all, my experience is that this airline gets an 'A' for bait-and-switch tactics and a 'F' for customer service and business ethics.

Yelp
I had terrible problems with flight reservations, they asked me if I wanted to take advantage of an upgrade offer, which I did not respond too and let expire. This somehow "split" my reservation in their system which they could not resolve for the flight. My wife and son could not board a flight which I had paid $3000 for them to fly to Cebu. Had to get them on the next flight, 3 days later, when they seemingly fixed the issue. Meanwhile , I was out 3 days on an ABNB. Back office, website navigation are issues. Otherwise, my family seemed happy once they departed and arrived. But all and all, a truly negative experience in spite of Quatar Airways excellent reputation. Lost 3 vacation days.
