Qatar National Museum is beautiful—very clean, neat, and seamless, much like the other architecture in Qatar. The children’s section, however, felt more like a regular children’s library. I think it could benefit from more interactive elements—more reading nooks, a small play area, hands-on activities, or even an art corner.
On the positive side, the children’s library is conveniently located next to the restaurant and restroom, which makes it easy to leave children aged nine and above safely while they enjoy the area.
The library staff are very friendly and helpful. My experience borrowing books wasn’t perfect, but the registrar’s staff were extremely helpful. We had trouble scanning books with our phone, so the staff manually checked them out one by one. Note that only the person holding the Qatar ID can borrow the books, so my husband had to do it.
During our visit, there was an Antarctica exhibition, which was stunning. It’s fascinating to see one of the last untouched places on Earth through photography and exhibits. I hope the museum continues to host such informative and engaging exhibitions.
