Had the most amazing experience at Blue Star Parlor this afternoon! What a gem! I can't believe I hadn't heard of it before. I was on Google Maps looking for a place to have lunch with my mom today and came across this place after 15 minutes of searching. I'm so happy I came across it!
It's a quaint cafe on Cortelyou road a couple doors down from the flower shop/bar "Sycamore." When we got there, there were a few people seated out back and one patron on the interior. Perfect timing! We ordered the ginger turmeric tea and the Saint Lucian haute cacao hot drinks to start. I had the hot cocoa with coconut milk. Delish!!!
For our meals, my mom ordered the passion fruit pancakes with a side of eggs. I decided to treat myself to the B.E.S.T. (Biscuit Egg Sausage and Tomato croissant sandwich). It consisted of House Made Lamb Sausage, Tomato, Chipotle Aioli and Mini Omelet Sandwiched in a Butter Biscuit. I was pleased to find out that I ordered the same thing that the owner had just finished snacking on. I knew then that I made a good choice!
I cannot speak enough of how great everything was--the no-frills setting, exceptional service, quality food, and hospitality! Sherman, the owner, shared a bit of history about the place. It's been around since 2015 but he grew up in the neighborhood and wanted to pay homage to his Saint Lucian roots by opening the cafe there. I cannot wait to be back! Thanks for an excellent experience, Sherman! See you soon!
