Traveling can really tire you out... after 12 hours of flights and travel, I was much in need for a spa day. Looking up places to go in Milan, QC Termemilano continually appeared so I decided to try it out after my week of class. I bought a ticket online for a 4 hour visit on a Saturday at 11am and the check in process was very quick. I arrived, showed my QR code that reserved my spot and my ticket for the lunch buffet, and took my complimentary spa bag that included a rental robe to the women's locker room. Since I was flying out of Milan that evening, I needed to bring my luggage with me, which unfortunately wouldn't fit into the narrow locker. Thankfully the front desk was willing to hold it in the back.
After changing into my swimsuit in the locker room, I wrapped myself with the rental robe and started to wander around the spa. There were tens of rooms to visit - a number of dry saunas with different treatments like roasted chamomile scents, wet saunas, and jacuzzi pools. They have pools both inside and outside; each pool was sanitized with chlorine, so it felt more like a collection of hot tubs and pools with jets. Inside, the pool experiences ranged from a cinema room that projected a film on the walls to a hot/cold walking stone path to encourage stronger immunity systems. They also had resting/relaxation room, which included an abstract short film about Milan projected on the ceiling while you lay down on a water mattress. One of my favorite rooms was the relaxation that had sleeping pads surrounded by a metal structure. In the room, there were at least 10 structures and the room played soft tropical thunderstorms and birds chirping to create a white noise.
While I had fun exploring the various rooms, the best part of the spa experience was the lunch buffet. In the buffet, they offered a salad bar where you could create your own salad with various leaves (spinach, mixed, arugula, etc.) vinegars, olive oils, salts, and peppers. They had a substantial selection of vegetables, cheese, and sliced/cured meats to make the salad more robust. They also had warm pasta dishes and lasagna that an attendant will serve to you. In case you were thirsty, they have a selection of wines (white, red, rose) to serve yourself as well as water and exclusively brewed beer on tap. And to finish the meal, they have a number of shortbread cookies and chocolate cake to enjoy with some espresso to wake you back up before you head back to the pools.
All in all this was a fun experience for 55 Euros and ~25 euros for the lunch buffet. I'm not sure if I'll return on my own, but definitely will with a group to relax and explore the various rooms again.
