QT Bondi, Sydney, Australia - Hotel Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"How did it strike you on arrival? A skip from iconic Bondi Beach, QT Bondi is within the contemporary Pacific Bondi Beach building on main seaside street Campbell Parade. Enter up the stairs from the front of the complex through the tree-dotted atrium or drive in from Beach Road. Nice. What’s the crowd like? You’ll bump into surfers and style-seekers at this hip boutique hotel, sister to the city’s vintage-chic QT Sydney. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. A coastal-cool vibe rules in the 69 spacious studios and apartments, by Australian designer Nic Graham, with beach-motif cushions, porthole-shaped mirrors, rocking chairs and geometric rugs. Sleek contemporary furniture, blonde wood floors and white walls create a chilled-out feel. QT Deluxe Kings and QT Gould Suites offer city-view balconies, QT Atrium Suites have balconies with atrium views (don’t expect ocean vistas). We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us? QT King and QT Deluxe King studios feature open-plan sleeping and sitting zones; QT Atrium Suites and QT Gould Suites have a separate bedroom and lounge. Generous beds feature plain, white linen, contrasted with zingy yellow, blue, red and green accessories. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? Quirky minibars come stacked with snacks, soft and alcoholic drinks, plus fun beard kits. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. Modern bathrooms combine white and mint-green industrial subway tiles with oversized circular mirrors and black taps. Double basins, a bath, shower and American Malin+Goetz products add luxe. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word? Complimentary Wi-Fi and movies. Room service: Worth it? QT Bondi doesn’t have an in-house restaurant, but you can whip up food in the kitchenette. You’ll find a Woolworths supermarket below in the Pacific building, plus Fishbowl for yummy poke bowls to go. Panama House café off the atrium and Bondi Beach Public Bar (180 Campbell Parade) have ocean views. Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why? The 24-hour reception and concierge desk are at your disposal, or see the QT’s website and social media for local drinking, dining and activities. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. The beach is just over the road. The QT offers access to Speedo Fitness Club and pool downstairs. Valet parking is available for a fee or hire a Lekker bike to explore. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? Showcasing video and photographic art by Australian Shaun Gladwell, the vibrant lobby celebrates surfers and beach life. Kitsch-cute flamingo and palm tree lights dot the seating nooks. Bottom line: worth it, and why? Bondi’s blend of barefoot living and coastal gentrification makes it one of Sydney’s most seductive neighbourhoods, appealing to fitness freaks and fashionistas." - Sophie Davies

Amazing stay at QT Bondi. First time coming to Australia and this hotel is a must for visiting Sydney. Just a block from the beach, the location is the best. From watching sunrise/sunset to surfing or running on the beach, the hotel has the best options. In addition to that, the rooms are well equipped and very design. (+ treat well your cuddly toy 😆) We loved our stay there, would def come back next time !

What could have been a lovely stay, was ruined predominantly by the attitude of the receptionist when checking in. She lied straight to our faces about information she had given us moments before when she gave no such information and accepted no accountability for causing stress and confusion. Her use of the term ‘that’s why I said ….’ multiple times when she had said no such thing(s) was infuriating, and her smug attitude was appalling. I do hope she’s not a regular on the desk, she is 100% more suited to something behind the scenes instead of interacting with guests as she’s the main reason we’ll never stay here again. We had booked for 3 people and the room was only set for 2, she had the audacity to ask if we would like a second bed set up, really? Are we expected to all sleep in the same bed? We didn’t check in until late evening, surely someone could have used common sense or called us before our arrival to check instead of coming into the room after we’d arrived! There was also no hand soap provided in the bathroom so we had to walk into the deathtrap shower (slippery tiles when wet, no grooves for grip or floor mat) to get body wash every time we wanted to wash our hands, as well as only enough towels for 2 people, despite our booking being for 3 people. We didn’t bump into a single person while coming and going during our stay, yet our room was the second last at the end of 2 corridors and right beside construction, which I’m sure was a last minute change because the receptionist didn’t appreciate us saying ‘you never said that’ while she was lying to us! This is more like serviced apartments rather than a hotel. While they have a hotel reception, they have no pool, no gym, no restaurant or even their own parking. You need to park in a Metro carpark and get a ticket to be charged to your card at checkout. We had issues getting our car out of the carpark with the ticket and no one around to help for about 15 minutes because it’s not the hotels car park and Metro staff weren’t available. The only good thing about this place was the location, but it rained the whole time we were there so we didn't get to the beach. With no pool in the ‘hotel’ it added to our disappointment during our stay. We will choose somewhere else the next time that has more to offer.

I called it ‘A perfect stay at QT Bondi, because that’s what it was!|We were warmly welcomed by staff and upon entering our room, we found it to have a clean and fresh appeal. Thank you! The location of the hotel makes it easy to discover and enjoy everything Bondi and the eastern suburbs have to offer. I would like to commend Laura on her friendly and informative conversations. Such a knowledgeable young lady Thank you!

Excellent location, modern rooms with nice amenities but mold ruined our stay. There is fan to exhaust the shower steam so there is mold growing on the drywall above. Our first room also had mold growing behind the curtain to the sliders. We moved rooms but the second had a terrible chemical smell in the bathroom. The staff was super nice about moving us and just in general, but we spent our stay trying to avoid the room so we didn't get headaches/congestion, etc

Best location right in the center of it all but on the edge of the main road so you ideally located AWAY from the noise that can get quite loud. Staff is welcoming and kind. Comfortable linens and mattresses|7. Microwave/frother/kettle & stove top |8. Easy in and out and secure entry past 8pm which I like |9. Right on top of great food and ease of access to things below |10. Room service is available |11. Free selection of movies that were new releases |12. Ability to stream netflix & streaming apps on the TV|13. Clean rooms & love the desk area that I am able to work from |14. Great ability to dim and have different lighting in the room|15. Shower is large & has products that you need |16. Staff is readily available when I needed them!||I will be back. Five stars thank you QT & staff!

Laura (pretty sure it was Laura) was fantastic! We got into Sydney on Mar 23rd 2025 three hours early (about 8 or 9 AM) and she checked our bags behind the front desk and then hooked me up with a surfboard, sunscreen, and a place to change into my wetsuit so I could go catch waves at Bondi Beach until the room was ready. After lunch everything was set and before we walked into our room we’d already had great memories from our stay. This place comes highly recommended! Right across the road from Bondi beach, plenty of places to eat near by, and fantastic hotel staff. Couldn’t be happier with my choice to stay here. Love the rooms and location. Surfs up!

Love the laid back atmosphere of QT Bondi - Spacious stylish light filled room, super comfy bed and beautiful bathroom. Mini kitchen if needed, great mini bar and the boogie boards bikes and surfboards at the foyer. Great friendly staff at front desk with local recommendations.

Google
Super location gray side rooms either all the required amenities right across the road from bondi beach and on the strip for lots of choice of eateries and shopping. Super helpful and friendly staff which as always makes the difference between a good hotel and a great hotel. Highly recommend

Yelp
Super location, friendly staff. Large rooms with comfortable beds. The lack of an in-hotel dining option is more than made up for by the plentiful cafes and restaurants in the area.

Yelp
1000% yes you should stay here. I booked through Tablet Hotels and was pleasantly surprised by how truly amazing this hotel was. The room was enormous - enough room for a big couch and table/chairs. This would be a perfect set up if you had to work on the trip. There was also a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and the most amazing bathroom with his/her sinks, a soaking tub, and a rain shower. Bonus points for having Kevin Murphy products. I loved this hotel so much and most definitely will be returning.

Yelp
We had such a lovely visit at the QT Bondi. The room was spacious and had all kinds of fantastic amenities like Dyson hairdryer, a great safe, microwave, oven, and washer dryer. (Though the washer dryer isn't the greatest because it's an all in one unit and those take a long time to dry. Still gets the job done.) My highest praise is reserved for the staff. I learned that I could email them at any time and I would get an immediate cheerful response from the front desk. I got fantastic recommendations for places to go in the city and things to do. Bailey, Melanie and Diego were especially helpful. We loved the shops in the grocery store in particular, down on the basement level of the hotel. They have a butcher shop that will cook you a steak and pack it up to eat in your room. But the grocery itself reminds me of a New York City neighborhood, supermarket, crammed full of everything you could possibly need and more. The location is phenomenal. It's so fun to walk out and be right on Bondi beach. it's quite a swish neighborhood and we enjoyed wandering around and especially Anita's ice cream gelato place. I would definitely stay here again if I came to Sydney. Sydney is a massive city and there's a lot of stuff to do but it's like having your own little neighborhood boutique hotel. Big huge, modern, clean room, and a very friendly group of people watching out for you. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Beautiful design hotel, amazing location right by the beach in the middle of everything. Fantastic restaurants on the doorstep. Read more and see pics at http://www.stayple.net/hotel-resort-reviews/oceana/australia/sydney/qt-bondi/photo-video-gallery.html

Yelp
Great location, nice staff, clean rooms and the set up I CRAVE when staying at a hotel. I am all for the apartment style hotels with the kitchenette, couch and lounge area so it doesn't seem like you have to sit on the bed the whole time. I know you don't spend a ton of time in the room on vacation but it really is the details that matter. Location: Across the street from the beach and boardwalk. Great location to walk along the Bondi to Coogie path. Many restaurants, grocery store, shopping right outside the door. There are no food amenities at the hotel but everything is a very close walk at the bottom of the elevator. Amenities: Nespresso coffee for the room, plush and comfortable beds, large bathroom and tub, washer and dryer in the room (although I had a very hard time trying to dry my clothes and the door was locked, it was a thing...). You could also cook meals as it has a fully equipped kitchen. They allow you to use their surf boards for free FYI. I would definitely stay here again it if I returned to the area. The beach was not yet busy since we were here at the beginning of summer but I can tell it probably is pretty crazy in that area.

Yelp
This hotel is so lovely, that I wish I lived here. I haven't felt that way about a hotel in a very (very) long time. Conveniently situated on Bondi Beach, it's new, clean, fresh, and incredibly pleasant. The front desk staff are also friendly.

Yelp
Great hip hotel close to Bondi beach! Rates average $350-$450 a night. Very modern rooms that come with washer/dryer, sleeper sofa ( careful they charge $100 for an extra guest) walk in shower with seamless glass. The best was that downstairs there is a spa, eateries for dessert, snacks, a liquor store, and even a grocery store! Bondi is a lovely town remincent of Venice, Ca but without all the rif raff. Plan ahead and save for Bondi and Australia.. very expensive but so worth it.

Yelp
Listed as 5 stars on hotels.com. Great location, great staff, awesome gym. Hotel and rooms definitely not on a 5 star level (Ritz Carlton, etc)- rooms really trendy and cool with great amenities but beds not very comfortable, bathroom appliances cheap. Did have in room washer, dryer, basically full kitchen which was awesome. For the money was worth it because I was using American dollars and the exchange rate was about 70%. I guess my only gripe was the uncomfortableness of the bed, but that's huge.

Yelp
I'm a bit confused how to rate this property. Stayed 4 nights and it is certainly different from most hotels. Firstly they take full payment on arrival, strange for a hotel, second they offer no food & beverage options apart from a mini bar and a supermarket you can access on ground floor. Check in was a bit of a mess as they tried to check me in to someone else's room, the guy had the same first name as me but not surname, then they were going to charge the wrong credit card, the other guy who they thought I was, for full prepayment. Outside the hotel you have a comfy seating area which is manky, after the first night I realised why it's manky, the homeless sleep on it, I have nothing against the homeless but the guy who occupied the seat at night also used the bin next to it as his urinal. The price charged was in excess of 500 Australian dollars a night, very steep for the level of comfort and service

Yelp
Great hotel with comfortable beds, huge rooms, great bathrooms, friendly service and excellent location. Whilst a little on high end price wise, the luxury you get makes it good value. Totally recommended for a bit of Bondi luxury.
