QT Gold Coast (Gold Coast, Queensland) 5 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You might expect a place called Surfers Paradise to be an unspoiled refuge full of endless-summer vibes and world-renowned surfing — and you’d be right about the surfing, anyway. A district of Queensland’s Gold Coast, Surfers Paradise is a bustling tourist destination that offers the nightlife of a coastal city along with some of the world’s best waves. As such, it plays host to an eclectic contingent of revelers, families and beach bums. QT Gold Coast manages to court everyone with a cosmopolitan sensibility that’s both fresh and unpretentious." - Tablet Hotels

Very pleasant communication in the lead-up to our stay. Check-in was handled by a friendly staff member, though unfortunately, one of our rooms wasn’t ready at the 2pm check-in time. As an apology, we were offered complimentary parking and drink vouchers, which was a thoughtful gesture. The room became available around 5pm. Rooms were spotless and beautifully presented — modern, with stylish finishes and thoughtful touches throughout. Room service was absolutely delicious. While on the pricier side, the generous portions and high quality made it feel worthwhile. It’s also great to see they offer dog-friendly rooms. However, it’s worth noting that while dogs are welcome in the room, they’re not allowed in shared areas like the restaurant or pool. (Also, we weren’t sure if the dog treats on the table were complimentary.) A big thank you for the lovely birthday surprise left in our room — it made our stay feel extra special! We’ll definitely be returning!

10/10 – A Fantastic Stay! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and we found ourselves spending several evenings at Stingray’s enjoying delicious tacos and perfectly made margaritas—my personal favourite. The pool bar was a great addition and added to the relaxed vibe. The staff were consistently helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. A special mention to Rory at the front desk, who went above and beyond to make our stay even better. All in all, we absolutely loved our time here and will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended!

I drove to Surfers Paradise to scatter my mother's ashes off the spit and only stayed one night at the QT. The experience far surpassed most hotel I have stayed in in Australia. This is a hotel that has chosen and trained its staff to give their guests excellent service. The rooms are comfortable and quiet and are equipped with everything you could need to make your stay special. Room service was prompt and the food scrumptious, I recommend the NACHOS with pulled chicken. I would definitely return to this establishment again.

The service was great, all the staff are lovely. We booked a room with a balcony specifically so we could enjoy a night out on the balcony so having it not able to used was something we wish they told us. The doors on the building make a banging sound when there’s a bit of wind about so we weren’t able to get any sleep. We were more than happy with the service no issues there but I wouldn’t recommend staying here until they get the balcony’s fixed and the doors sorted.

Large rooms and comfy linens, though pillows were too big. Great location near the beach. Didn't try the pool but looked nice, but small. However, this does not feel like a 5 star hotel, to me its very much in the same vibe as "ibis Styles", compete with a very similarly basic buffet. 3 star, maybe 4 at a stretch. Don't go here if you're looking for 5 star or a good breakfast. Come here for the cheap price point and location. The buffet breakfast charges $38 for a very very very basic spread and then charges you extra for a coffee on top, which is very poor value compared to what other supposedly priced buffets at any main brand 4-5 star hotel offers. The breakfast was what I've seen offered for free at holiday in express style hotels, or ibis Styles in Asia. No egg station or anything like that. The balconies were all locked shut due to planned works, which nobody in our party was notified of, and the aircon won't go below 18.5 (but really, it felt like it was just blowing moderately warm air). Luckily I had my pocket fan. The rooms felt very poorly painted and decorated, the whole vibe is very much "cheap fun". The outdoor furniture in the bedroom was very odd. Folks with long hair would appreciate the Dyson hairdryers and the amenities were nice. Service was basic; including cleaners entering my colleagues room at 9.50, without knocking, despite a do not distribute design on the door. Obviously not acceptable. The lady that checked us in was nice and recommended a great restaurant nearby.

Very funky hotel. Location is super convenient, you can walk to beach, paradise centre and nice dinning places. The staff there are super friendly and always there to help with anything you need. We had the buffet breakfast, quality is superb. They are providing food from reputable brands. Not only the food, but also the equipment in the room, such as dyson hair dryer, nestle coffee machine etc. The restaurant on site is also very good. We will definitely stay in QT again.

The QT feels like a hotel that does the add on stuff brilliantly but gets the basics wrong. ||Good things: The hotel design is stylish and very instagrammable. The location is handy for Surfers Paradise, the tram and the beach. There are Kevin Murphy toiletries in the rooms, Missoni bathrobes and Dyson hairdryers. The pool isn't large but it was warm and popular on sunny days. The gym is a good size and well equipped. The rooms are quiet. The reception staff are (mostly) friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was good.||But! The pillows are horrible, oversized and overstuffed and when we asked for other pillows the ones that arrived were lumpy. The bathroom design is rubbish - a silly small sink with a shelf over it to bang your head on when you lean over it, terrible water pressure, a poorly designed toilet roll holder and a step to stub your toe on when entering. There's a well equipped mini bar but there's no menu for it in the room (nor in the online room information linked to the TV). The balcony was off limits which I gather has been the case for some months, and the doors rattled significantly on the first day which was windy. In the restaurant, the staff kept leaning over our plates to clear items from the table. And as other reviews have mentioned, the seating by the pool is inadequate for the hotel's size.||It's not a bad place to stay and those extras go a long way but it did feel overpriced and significantly less special than other QTs I've stayed at.

The whole experience was fantastic. From the friendly staff to the lovely rooms to the great pool space. I can't fault the place and will 100% visit again. Everything was easy at QT. The hotel happily upgraded us to an ocean view room on account of balconies being unusable - so good!|Thanks to all at QT for a memorable two night stay. I only wish it has been longer.

Yelp
We had our buffets with Bazaar restaurant during our stay in Gold Coast. The food were not that amazing as it supposed to be, medium Angus was over cooked, pizza was a little bit burned lol dessert section covered a great variety, but then again, not so much tasty. Overall, don't think it deserve such price.

Yelp
What can I say growing up in the seventies and eighties and visiting the Gold Coast as kid - QT pulls off a retro chic of an era that never quite was... It is fun and sophisticated all roiled into one, yet the do it in a way that is never cringeworthy or lampooning. I think the young staff who always seem to be moving really do this place justice! The rooms are well appoint and quite spacious the designer furniture despite some appearances is not just for show it is genuinely comfortable and sure as the decor might not suit all tastes however it rare feels over the top. Even the restaurant and bar give a slight twist on the old classics; and server too quality food even when busy - including when serving up meals in the ballroom for our work closing night summit dinner. Well done team! and next time I am in town expect to see me checked in here!

Yelp
It may surprise you that as a born and bred Queenslander, Surfers Paradise and I have never really been a huge part of each others lives. But towards the end of last year, with Foo Fighters tickets in our hands, we needed somewhere to stay overnight after their concert at Metricon Stadium (Dave Grohl, right? right?). The QT Hotel, touted as "nostalgic surfer chic meets Miami catwalk cool" was the perfect place to rest our heads and was the classiest nod to Surfers Paradise I had seen in a while. You'd be forgiven for waiting for Don Johnson circa Miami Vice to walk through the doors. As you walk into the foyer you're greeted with a modern and design friendly interior and if you're like me looking at all the detail you'll be distracted by the elegant green high back lounges or cafe table with filled candy jars atop. The staff greeted us with a friendly welcome and we were shown to our room. There's just enough quirk and kitsch (think ceramic cockatoo bedside lamps) to make the rooms cool without trying too hard and the "stir your own" homemade lemonade on arrive was the sweetest detail. The thing that makes the QT Hotel experience something to write home about it the details, they've made every effort to make the details the highlight of your stay. While we didn't eat on site there's three restaurants and one cafe where you can indulge in teppenyaki, a drink from one of 50 in-house tequilas or international cuisines at the Bazaar. Surfers Paradise itself may still have a lot of work to do to change my perception, but QT I wouldn't think twice about staying at your Gold Coast or Port Douglas hotels.

Yelp
We stayed at QT for our honeymoon right around the time they had just finished all their renovations. I am not a Queenslander so I am not aware of the rich history QT apparently has, but I sure did appreciate the tiki style Hawaiian inspired contemporary decor they have chosen to deck the place out in. The lobby and communal areas have that feel that any moment a Pin-Up girl is going to accost you with a ukulele and demand you hula with her, which is wonderfully charming if you're in to that sort of thing, which I am. You can even hire an old sting-ray bicycle for a day! The rooms are lovely. Clean. Very important, they are impeccably clean! The bathroom was very clearly brand new, fit with spiffy fixtures and the like; so shiny one could apply ones make-up by simply gazing into the faucets. There was a super comfortable bed, larger than your usual hotel flat screen television with Foxtel, balcony over looking at the ocean in our case and a beautiful view of the Gold Coast. Waking to the sound of the sea was priceless. Everything else in the room was equally as new, elaborate and charming, we were given complimentary lemonade which I found too adorable to function! It being our honeymoon we had in our rooms waiting strawberries, chocolate and sparkling. All the staff seemed to be aware that we we were honeymooning and we were treated super special, overall the staff were wonderful to deal with whether it be at random, on the phone, in the lobby, in Bazaar (restaurant in facility- a must) or at Stingray (bar in facility- also a must.) I have recommended the hotel to friends and family and will continue to do so, it's close to main strip & beach, it's got probably the best 'all you can eat' restaurant, a fun bar and wonderful amenities.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my stay here! Great vibey hotel with a cool & quirky feel. Really enjoyed the facilities, pool and hot tub, bar. Rooms were clean, spacious and I enjoyed a beautiful view with balcony. The staff were also excellent & really helpful. I want to give Dodie a special mention. I left my jackets in the wardrobe & only realized when i got to the next city. Luckily she was able to pop in the mail and email me a tracking number. The items arrived today! I'm very grateful to her and the housekeeping team for their efforts in returning these items to me. Thankyou guys so much!! You're the best

Yelp
Finally a hotel in the GC that can pull off chic sophistication and the perfect blend of boutique and resort features. The hotel has been designed with such a focus on touches to match the retro theme. Staff outfits, room décor and furnishings, the complimentary lemonade ingredients for you to make in the room. As with the Port Douglas property, employees seem really happy to be here, and make conversation that seems genuine and warm, as opposed to the steely professionalism we have come to expect from properties part of a five star international chain. The hotel's location is fine, walking distance to cavil if that's your thing (although I'd question why you are staying here) and just across the road to the beach. We stayed in a King Suite and had a great view, heaps of room, basically two rooms put together, and a huge bathroom with rain shower head and separate bath. Touches like lights and lamps on dimmers were great. The whole hotel seems to have been refit, and it looks great, would recommend upgrading the gym though. Join as a priority member before booking (its free) and you get a welcome drink, complimentary 1pm late check out and 20% off food and drink at the hotel (excluding room service). See my other reviews for my thoughts on the restaurant here, bazaar, and the supposedly hip bar stingray.

Yelp
The good: very cool 1950s lobby, incredibly polite and helpful staff, great location a couple of blocks from the beach. Also, the breakfast, though expensive, was probably one of the best buffet style hire breakfasts I've ever had. Rather than list all the amazing options, let's just say this: short of cold pizza, if you have ever eaten it for breakfast, they have it! The bad: It looked like since the time of the last renovation a few years ago, nothing had been maintained. That meant curtains that were grossly stained and wouldn't close properly, pillows with lumps in them, and a smell on some of the floors of mildew. Also, they charged a fee for using a credit card that was not disclosed (or at least not obviously) on the reservation. Bottom line: I suppose not a bad place for a clean, decently-located place for less than $200. But don't expect anything nice, either.

Yelp
There was a lot to like about this hotel. It has a very relaxed vibe and funky, colourful decor. The ocean view room was very big and well appointed. It was pleasing to find a Nescafé coffee machine rather than the usual sachets. Two toilets and two TV's was a welcome find. The room service was very good except the chips were quite cold and unappealing. Overall though, a very good hotel.

Yelp
Cannot find a better Hotel than this. One of the most beautiful suites we have ever stayed in. Incredible staff incredible decor incredible memories. Right on the most incredible beach. What more could you want??

Yelp
Nice, retro style hotel. A pleasant change from the norm. Free wifi in all rooms, and a nespresso machine. Also they serve free lemonade in the foyer. However the housekeeping staff knock off at 5pm, so if you arrive later and need something there is no one to answer the phone and your are left on hold listening to the "we'll be with you shortly" phone mesage! And when I went downstairs in the morning to ask the concierge for extra milk for the coffee machine I was told I would have to either buy it from the foyer cafe or go across the road to the mini mart.
