QT Wellington (Wellington, North Island) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"New Zealand’s hotels generally stress their outdoor and adventure connections, but QT Wellington, set by the side of the capital’s harbor, is a tribute to the city’s contemporary arts and culture scene. The rooms are fun and colorful, decorated with murals and bold, vibrant prints, and they’re quietly luxe as well, with necessities like Nespresso machines and Bose sound systems. There’s a dramatic indoor pool in a sunlit atrium, and the heart of the hotel’s social life is the Hippopotamus Restaurant and Cocktail Bar, where chef Jiwon Do marries French flavors and local New Zealand ingredients." - Tablet Hotels

Spent 2 nights, Dec 25&26th, in a Harbour view room. Room 436, was light bright and stylish. Plenty of space, with comfy chair & side table and a desk set up. The room and balcony artwork was amazing. Great view and balcony. Awesome bathroom with large tub and great amenities including super soft robes, Dyson hairdryer even bath salts for the huge tub. All the staff we met were great as was the food we sampled. I had some trepidation after reading some reviews but it was just great and the hotels art collection is amazing. I am looking forward to my next stay.

Google
An excellent stay and the standout of the three QT properties we visited. Stylish, comfortable and exceptionally well priced for what’s offered. What stood out: • Room: we stayed in a Grand Harbour Balcony Room, which was beautifully decorated, very well laid out and absolutely worth the upgrade • Value: outstanding — this is what clearly pushes it into five-star territory • Pool & spa: we really liked the pool area and used it several times; while it could benefit from some maintenance (missing tiles and a few broken hot tub jets), it was still a great facility and a real plus • Location: ideal for exploring Wellington, with great harbour views from the balcony • Overall feel: polished, relaxed and very comfortable Where it fell short: • Breakfast: limited. Self-service filter coffee was included, with barista coffee available at an extra cost, which felt a little out of step with the otherwise strong value proposition Overall, a fantastic stay and excellent value. With a slightly more generous breakfast offering and some attention to pool maintenance, this would be close to faultless.

Great location. Interior is full of art. Some areas like breakfast section looked tired and worn.|The bar and views from restaurant are great. All staff are friendly and helpful. We had desserts and drinks all very well made.|Breakfast a la carte choice was also very good.|Our harbour view room with balcony was spacious and bed comfortable but need to keep the cleaning of the provisions in the room and cleaning of bathroom was not to the high standard expected.|We did find the hotel bathroom had poor lighting and the lifts were dark inside.|Great friendly and helpful staff.

Lovely hotel, let down by poor customer service. The hotel feels cosy and quirky, it’s in a great location near Te Papa, with beautiful views from the restaurant on level 3 out to Wellington harbour. I loved walking through the lobby and looking at all the art. We had a Superior King room, which was small but very nicely decorated, with a very comfy bed. |What let us down was poor customer service. We had to ask for hand soap in our room (twice) - (I saw that my sister’s room had this and moisturiser - we did not ). We had to ask for our room to be serviced as they missed us. There was no explanation of how room servicing works - apparently you have to put the sign on the door. This was not obvious. There was no hotel information in our room and if it was available on the TV, we didn’t see it. We paid $25 each for continental breakfast at the restaurant. The yoghurt was empty and I asked them to refill it. They said they would but didn’t. So no yoghurt for me! On checkout I was told that they’d email me a copy of the invoice, which they didn’t. I emailed and asked for them to send it, which they haven’t. It’s not that hard to get these things right and make a guest’s stay that much better.

Good and not so good|Great location quirky some helpful staff one not at all.|On arrival a staff member who was leaving for the day was superb. Gave us the picture from the carpark. What a start!|Reception was good concierge was ok.|The wifi password on the QR code was wrong.|The rooms were to me a fail. |Insufficient lighting|No room for suitcases|One powerpoint which was behind the bench none beside the beds|Bathroom dark and poorly laid out|On our check out day we wanted a continental breakfast. Oh no full buffet only at 38NZD. Pass. Coffee only at whatever charge no you cant have plunger which would have been fine.|So much could be better.

A comfortable spacious room with a super comfortable bed. Harbour views on a sunny day nice to wake up to. Fantastic art through the hotel adds a special character.

Car was parked in their carpark right by the entrance to the lobby because we had three ebikes on the back. Was told by the staff they would be secure being there and under the CCTV cameras. Bikes were taken after cables and locks being cut which took over 40mins to achieve. Staff never approached or noticed this happening outside their main entrance. Wouldn't supply CCTV footage stating the privacy act and offered no help at all.

QT Wellington is a fantastic stay. The service is warm and genuinely friendly, especially the team at the restaurant, which makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The location couldn’t be better — just across from Te Papa museum and right in the heart of Wellington’s vibrant waterfront. I also loved the artsy atmosphere throughout the hotel, from the lobby, the bar to the rooms, which gives the place so much character. A great choice if you want both comfort and a creative vibe.

Yelp
Cool place. Neat artwork. Friendly people, but ineffective staff. My heat/air wouldn't cool, so stopped at the desk to ask it be fixed. I was told they'd put a fan in my room until maintenance came in on Monday. Never happened. Drank 2 bottles of water from the refrigerator ($6.00 each) my first night there. They were never replenished. Asked the concierge to order a cab and I'd be right down. He said he would, it didn't until I was standing there in front of him. The room was comfortable and clean, but for the money the service is lacking.

Yelp
Horrible. Waited 3+ hours to get into rooms and Rooms (2) dirty one room smelled and unfortunately windows couldn't be opened. Location sketch. "Harbor view" is a joke - you can't open curtains to see the view without other rooms looking straight into your room. Save yourself money and headache go elsewhere.

Yelp
Great hotel with nice rooms. Excellent location opposite Te Papa and near the harbour. Just a short walk around to Courtney Street for restaurants & bars. But make sure when having a drink at the in-house bar that you actually do get your drink or be left hanging!!!! I should also add that if you want any food from the bar, don't bother. You'll wait forever!!! Lo and behold we actually never got the food. The kitchen was so slack!!!! Look like we will have to go somewhere else for a drink and snack.

Yelp
This place looks really nice and elaborately decorated so the awful service and lack of quality in basic amenities was surprising. We stayed on the apartment side and had a beautiful view of the fitness room's treadmills! Anyone on them could see directly into our room with just a thin veil of an opaque curtain between us. - WiFi is AWFUL!! They even let us use their Event WiFi after I asked why our connection kept dropping. And then the Events WiFi kept dropping constantly with basic surfing and messaging - forget about streaming. After night one, we complained about the following: - Dishes in the storage cabinets weren't clean - TV wasn't working (missing an HDMI cable) We came back at 5pm and the dishes were still dirty and the TV still wasn't working. + breakfast was good and view from their Hippopotamus restaurant is gorgeous.

Yelp
Unlike other reviews, I am giving this hotel a higher rating because of the polite and excellent staff. The room was nice, too. Hotel owners, if you are reading this, know that we will never come back. The decor is just too creepy. Sad looking naked ladies in the paintings. One in the dining area says "bimbo". There is a gun shooting a bullet towards a skull in a block of clear resin. Edgy art that some would appreciate, but not us.
