A fun and affordable spot for breakfast/lunch in West Hartford. Fast service and great food. Of all the diners in the area, I definitely return to Quaker the most!

Google
This cute old school diner has a simple menu and the food comes out fresh and hot. But there is nothing that really makes this place stand out. We got a pumpkin muffin, the feta spinach omelette and the eggs and corn beef hash. The muffin was the most stand out item, it was a sweet corn bread base with pumpkin spice flavor mixed in. The omelette was exactly what it says it is, nothing more nothing less. The has was a good hash and egg combo. The home fries seemed to be seasoned with curry which gives them a different flavor then normal but not one that I would look for. The jam that was at the table seemed to be very old it all tasted like it had spoiled.

Been here twice and both visits were excellent. The pancakes are tastier than most I’ve had. The home-fries are seasoned nicely and the perfect size. Chili cheddar omelet is super yummy on a cold day. Ambiance is unique, authentic to the time period built including music, which is really great. Love diners and this one ticks all the boxes. Will be back often!

Nearly 100 year old dining experience. Great history laden diner going back to 1931 when it was shipped to West Hartford, Connecticut. It was run by a family for many years afterwards. It has been kept in original clean historical condition for all these years while the city continued to grow and modernize around it. Beautiful original decor with original cast iron counter stools, tile floors and real wood everywhere. Cozy decor, but as with old diners, it is small with 6 cubical tables and a dozen counter stools. Great competitively priced breakfasts, well made. The free parking is available next to the diner, but is limited. Note: Parking area shows as a tow-away zone, but is not, as the diner rents space here, as well. Very clean restrooms, still in original look of 1931. Just beautiful. Does not have a ramp for access.

I have always wanted to check this place out, so when I had the chance, I did. This place really feels like it stepped out of the past, from the building to the layout. This diner is a true artifact. After entering from one of the two(!) enterences, you can choose to sit at a surprisingly comfortable booth or at the ever classic counter. While they have a decent lunch menu, you need to ask for it specifically as they seem to promote their breakfasty foods. I found the bacon cheeseburger to be quite nice and not cooked to a briquet as some places are want to do. The fries were not my favorite style. I was told that the French Toast was not very good. I have nothing to add to that as I did not try it personally. The iced tea was a little disappointing; I suspect they use Lipton tea, which is well known to be one of the worst teas. All in all, I think I would go back and try something else, such as the meatloaf sandwich or Ruben. I also think I'll sit at the counter to check that out.

Google
My most favorite thing about this place is that it's Mom and pop's place. It's not a huge place. There is parking on the side of the building. The customer service was great! I hope this place stays open for so many more years. This place will definitely be a place we return to every time we go to Connecticut. The food tastes like it's being cooked at home. Which is great!

Google
It's what a diner should be. We were a party of four for breakfast and everyone enjoyed their food and the atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. The service was really fast. The prices are very reasonable. We waited just a few minutes for table on Sunday. We will be back.

I have been here several times before. Never a problem. I had asked for chocolate chip pancakes. Maybe she didn't hear me. So she brings me back the plain pancakes with a bunch of chocolate chips just thrown on there. For real? This is supposed to be service? That has got to be one of the laziest acts I've ever seen in a restaurant. Then one of the people I was with he had a hair on his hamburger. At that point it was like we were a nuisance and I was seething. And after I mentioned the hair I saw the woman who was serving us have a side conversation with a coworker who looked right in my direction. Right in front of me. That was downright rude. She was more interested in conversing with other diners than checking on how things were. one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We're living in times of nobody caring anymore about anything and this place is no different. I also went back and checked some of the reviews, and there were several about a waitress with an attitude and provided bad service. One of them mentioned Amelia who was our server today. The poor service and attitude obviously hasn't changed. I think this is the first time I've never left any tip at all. This is obviously an establishment that doesn't want to do better. Never eating here again.

Yelp
Discovered this Diner recently while searching Yelp. Sat at the counter where I could watch the food as it was being prepared. I chose this diner because of its long history in WHa and reviews. It didn't disappoint. I had their breakfast which sustained me throughout the day. I'll be back.

Yelp
This quaint, old-fashioned diner hustles & bustles in the morning and there's a reason why. Y'all, this is my third time here for breakfast in the past two weeks. Between the nostalgic decor, local camaraderie & delicious menu...I foresee myself here often. The menu is simple but has plenty of options. The coffee has been fresh & hot and the service quick & friendly. Don't miss out on this place if in West Hartford during breakfast. It's not a big place, only about 8 booths but has lots of counter seating.

Steven S.

Yelp
This quaint little diner is excellent! Parking is a bit sus, and when the snow hits, it will be more difficult. However, it's worth it. The place was bustling, but I quickly found a place to sit at the counter. I ordered coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese on a hard roll. It came out quickly, and everything I saw other people order looked delicious. The guy to my right had their Berf Stragonoff. Like any good diner, the portion was hefty. The old style decor, the swing music playing in the background; these made the experience awesome. All the staff were very friendly. I'm definitely coming back! You should, too.

Yelp
We're baaaaack! Loving the Quaker once again, it's been a long couple sheltered years. The food and service better than ever. It's like nothing ever changed and it's a family reunion! Today, Nov 13, 2021 our adult daughter specifically requested Birthday Brunch at the Quaker. My wife and I have been regulars since the mid 80's (that's the 1980's) and later came the youngins. Saturday and Sunday morning memories built. Today, a couple of the Maple French Toast specials with two eggs, over easy. Wait staff wished birthday a pleasant day and year to come.

J B.

Yelp
Great place for a simple breakfast. Service has always been quick, friendly and efficient. Is one of our go-to local breakfast spots.

Ian L.

Yelp
It's always nice to take a step back in time and not cook food that you can definitely make at home. That's what diners are for and the Quaker Diner is no exception! It's a nice little diner where you can relax and read the newspaper or watch your food be made in the open kitchen. Despite the fact this place is slightly cramped, it was definitely friendly, inviting and comfortable. My corned beef hash was excellent and my bacon was crispy. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the homefries had the perfect crust under them. All that and a little bit of coffee with toast. Oh man this is a perfect meal for my Sunday morning. Nothing else to say except this is a really interesting diner that has been here forever. Now you know why!

Yelp
This is a classic diner and a staple in West Hartford. If you've never been to a diner, you wouldn't know what to expect. But as far as diners go, this is the epitome. Small interior, nothing fancy. The food is cheap and the portions are generous. The quality is good and the food is tasty. Giant pancakes, sticky syrup, always-warm coffee... what else can you ask for?

Zack G.

Yelp
Small diner housed in a 1-story barrel-roffed brick building that has been in operation since 1931. Very basic menu Both table and counter top service The food is fine but nothing special, it is the atmosphere that people come for 6

Andrew M.

Yelp
Great food, setting puts the "old" in "old school" in a good way! Give it a try next time you are in the neighborhood

Bob S.

Yelp
Little nondescript diner in west Hartford where food is king!!!!!! Daily white board specials are varied, plentiful and most importantly delicious. Pleasant staff. Parking on site.

Claire T.

Yelp
Best diner in Connecticut. I love it! The service is amazing, prices are very affordable, the breakfast is phenomenal, the coffee is delicious and free refills keep-a-comin'! I recommend this diner to everyone I know in town. As a West Hartford resident, it's the place to be.

Christina R.

Yelp
Very delicious food, quick service, and a great family environment! Seating was socially distant, and staff made sure all menus and areas were clean after each customer! Overall good restaurant and recommended for a quick bite especially for breakfast!

Kale And Allen B.

Yelp
3 stars because our waitress was rude/unsociable, she probably said 5 words to us the entire time. I liked the menu and the food good, but the overall experience was subpar.

Yelp
Went back today for the second time in 2 weeks after years of not going. When I went years ago, I realized one of the ladies was padding my bill and added things not on it. It took me a few meals before I realized it and called her out on it. This was after I used to tip generously for them ($4 tip on $10 meal), and needless to say I felt like a moron and so used for being so generous. After that, I purposely went back several times and left only small change as tips to remind her of what she did. Even before that, the other lady that works there was rude and brusque, and she one time left the American cheese wrapping paper in my omelet! It was so obviously visible, and I pointed it out to her and she was nonchalant and such, and even then I still tipped like 30% on the bill, because I used to feel sorry for this small scrappy diner. But after being taken advantage of, I changed my mind, and after going back a few more times just to leave change for tips on purpose, I stopped going for years. On top of that, it used to feel unsanitary, like I'd be eating at the counter and one of the ladies would be wiping down the counter with her tablecloth right next to my food, which I also found rude, like why do that as the customer is eating, and right next to their food! I finally went back 2 weeks ago for the first time in years, and I was cautiously optimistic that things had changed, and that first meal was fine, and actually tasty. I went back today, and the lady once again was rude, taking away some condiments I wasn't done with without asking. I thought once again what a fool I was for giving this place another try, as I thought back again about being cheated by them in the past and their rude behavior. It's the same rude service, nothing has changed, and the food also wasn't that great today. In short, this diner is only good for its prices, like you can't get a cheaper diner breakfast in West Hartford, but everything else about it leaves much to be desired, and I'm still angry when I think about being cheated by them in the past and the rudeness I experienced. So, make sure to check your bill, and no need to tip generously, I certainly didn't feel their behavior warrants it! Edit: Wow, I should've taken my own advice. Finally looked at the bill after I got home, and I was overcharged again! I was irritated at the place and didn't pay attention when the girl rang me up because I was annoyed and just wanted to leave, but after I got home, I saw that she snuck in an extra dollar charge, small enough that I wouldn't notice at the time. What a bunch of dishonest people. And to think, I still left a 15% tip for them despite everything. I should've just left no tip whatsoever. Unbelievable rude dishonest people.

Yelp
Heard a lot of great things about this diner. We were in the area, so my BF and I decided to give it a try. We got there at the perfect time, as we were able to get a seat right away! Not even 2 minutes later, there was a huge wait at the door! Our waitress was funny and her hospitality was on point. The only thing that was lacking were the home fries topped with cheese. I was hoping it was real shredded cheese, or at least homemade cheese sauce, but nope, it was the canned stuff. Couldn't get the taste out of my mouth. Other than that, everything else we had was delicious! If we're in the area again, we will definitely be back!

Yelp
We were on route home from Boston to North Carolina and looking for a place to have a late breakfast. Man, did we luck out! I ordered typical sausage and egg breakfast with kielbasa and my husband have the Italian omelette and of course we had to split an order of fresh raspberry pancakes, which may have been the best decision we made the whole trip! This place is a walk down memory lane as well as being a homie friendly place to stop and have some seriously honest to goodness food.

Jelane K.

Yelp
We visited Quaker Diner on a Sunday morning. I had read about the diner in a post online about local diners. We initially planned to wait for a booth but after awhile took two stools. The place had a great atmosphere. The service was quick. We ordered pancakes, poached eggs that came with hashed browns. Pancakes didn't have a lot of flavor and though the hash browns were tasty, the texture was a bit like mashed potatoes. It was ok but we won't be back.

Larry S.

Yelp
I like this place. I like sitting at the counter and watching the cook master the timing and preparation of the food. I find everyone friendly, service is quick and the food a good option when you want decent meal at a good price. Food was hot and the homefries crispy but not burnet or overdone from hanging out on the griddle to long. it is an old diner - the diner could use a little TLC, I have gone here more times than I have checked in. I will be back.

David M.

Yelp
It's simply the best. You accept the cash-only-tight parking lot situation-standing for a seat at a busy time because... there's just no other place that is as homey, warm, delicious, and personable as Quaker Diner. The waitresses are kind, professional, and know how to hustle -- do yourself a favor and get the 2 2 2 -- you can't go wrong. =)

Lynn L.

Yelp
I had breakfast with my son and it was horrible, I had 2 pancakes, 2 scramble eggs with cheese, 2 slices of bacon and home fries i had a cup of coffee. My son had 2 french toast 2 sausages , 2 scramble eggs and home fries and orange juice. The eggs with the cheese were runny the bacon tasted like it was old and the home fries were yellow and burnt and the coffee was real strong. The waitress was annoying asking me if I like my hamburger with blue cheese or goat cheese. I was trying to have a nice breakfast with my son. The bill was over $30.00 I will never go back there again.

Heather G.

Yelp
I love a good diner...therefore I don't understand why this was never on my radar when I actually lived in Connecticut....but....anyway...it's a cute little old fashioned diner which does not disappoint. We were in town for my friend's wedding, and BF wanted to meet up with one of his friends who lives north of Hartford. Back in their college days BF's friend lived right around the corner from the Quaker Diner so they wanted to meet here for breakfast for old time's sake. I got my standard coffee, two eggs sunny side with hash and rye toast and was not disappointed in the slightest.

Angela M.

Yelp
I struggle with the Quaker Diner. They've been around for ages and you can tell from the look of it. It's a quaint little place with really reasonable prices and not a lot of seating or waiting area. They are indeed cash only and they don't have an ATM on site. I walked a block or so up and crossed a busy intersection to go to the gas station for their ATM. My bank pays me back so I didn't mind. I was also pretty unimpressed with their parking situation. Halls market is next door and the parking lot you'd assume you could park in next to the restaurant belongs to the market and threatens to tow you if you aren't a shopper. Street parking isn't easy to come by either. Once you get inside though the food is beyond reasonably priced and pretty tasty. My omelette was huge and the sides were good. Their coffee was hot and tasty - only $1.80 a cup. We got a side of blueberry pancakes and those were really good too. Aside from the inconvenience of parking and being cash only I'd go back.

Him Y.

Yelp
in all of West Hartford the only real diner here. Food is absolutely amazing and you get what you pay for. My one and only complaint is randomly throughout the week. You may end up going there and they're not ready for business because their chef is a no-show?

Stan D.

Yelp
Quaker diner was awesome. Food was fabulous place was clean. Service was quick. Would definitely go back again. Well worth it

Michael R.

Yelp
Perfect old fashioned impossibly friendly diner. Feta Omelette hit the spot with terrific coffee and fantastic service.

Samantha H.

Yelp
I had been to this diner years ago. As my favorite breakfast spot was closed this particular day, decided to try Quaker Diner again. The first woman who greeted my boyfriend and I and served us our beverages was pleasant enough. Our actual waitress, not so much. She rushed us ordering, rushed giving us the check, and even rushed us eating. My boyfriend was mid bite when she took our plates without even asking! Food wise, compliments to the chef, but we will never be back again after this experience. Also note, it was 2.5-3 hours before closing.

Antonio R.

Yelp
I love coming to Quaker Diner. It's a great diner with great food and the food is priced right in this pretentious town. Anything you order will be delicious. I love the spinach, tomato, and feta omelette. A tip: it's always packed on the weekend so unless you are willing to sit at the bar, be prepared to wait.

Emily F.

Yelp
Listen, this is an old school diner serving up quick, homemade, comfort food breakfast. It's small, yes, but what else would you expect from a restaurant the size of a trolley car? A magical second floor? I don't think QD should be dinged for their size. The place is consistently clean and abuzz with happy patrons. The antique pictures, appliances, and artwork are something to be mentioned. Really makes you think about making dreams come true. Ok, on to the food and service. The breakfast is no-frills, real deal diner food. You know how some other places use a massive jug of liquid "eggs" to make their food? Not at QD. You'll see a ginormous stack of eggs behind the grill. Thank you! There is one waitress who is always a ray of sunshine. I wish I could bottle up her positivity and enthusiasm and take it with me for the day. Your coffee cup will never be empty, and your bellies will be full. Great bang for the buck. Nothing fancy, but everything authentic. Relax, West Hartford. Not everything needs to be new and improved when it's already established and genuine. Amen.

Leah G.

Yelp
No. So many people have said to us that we MUST make a stop at this traditional diner. It's so authentic and retro. This is not always a good thing... We walked in and they had no seating left. We walked all the way to the end inside and saw the massive pile of home fries essentially steaming on the flat top. One look at the plates of food and we walked right back out. Over cooked omelettes and soggy steamed piles of home fries everywhere. I'm also not sure if my memory serves me right but I believe it is cash only. Which in 2018 is absolutely asinine. I don't like to judge a place before trying it, but I did not actually need to eat the food to know it would have been terrible.

David B.

Yelp
Simple retro diner food. Cash only, great priced, limited seating, big enough menu. I had the smoked turkey omelette which had bacon, tomato, and cheese. It came with toast and home fries. It was a good size and had good flavor. Also got a side of hash, extra crisp, and they obliged. Overall, this is the perfect spot for a quick, simple, cheap breakfast.

Daryl M.

Yelp
Exactly what I was looking for. My pet peeve is over priced breakfast, this was not it. Great food in a small cozy diner type place with an open kitchen. The menu is basic breakfast items: pancakes, eggs, meats etc. The food was just OK though. That was really the only downfall. There appeared to only be one cook which led to the bacon and home fires being pre cooked and sitting in the warming area of the flat top grill. So the bacon was over cooked and too crispy. Overall it was a good experience and a cheap decent breakfast. I would definitely be back.

Robert H.

Yelp
This is the first time I've reviewed a place that we've not set foot in. Why didn't we set foot inside, you may ask? The parking lot next-door to the diner belongs to Hall's market, and is posted as such. We drove out of the lot, and passed the driveway for the diner. We turned around, and entered the driveway. We faced a car, and a truck, side-by-side. We didn't see where the parking lot was. To be sure, we returned to Hall's parking lot, to look for a rear entrance. We spotted the parking lot for the Quaker -- it had five cars in it. The truck, and the other car, were blocking the driveway. We went into Hall's to buy some of their good roast beef and some deli salads for the house. We then emerged, thinking that in the fifteen minutes we'd been there, the truck might've moved. The time was now 10:20. We'd tried twice (actually three times) to patronize this place, but I guess it wasn't to be. As we drove away (we ended up at the Gold Roc) we thought to ourselves how embarrassing it would've been had we arrived earlier, and been trapped in the parking lot, and have to persuade them to move the truck. One star, instead of two, because over eight years ago, we ate there and noted that the home fries had garlic powder in them. Just a personal no-no on our part: although we *love* garlic, we don't love it in our breakfast (unless we've ordered huevos ranchero). Nothing sets this place apart but for the fact that it's an antique that you can venture into, and eat in a place that time has forgotten.

Karen M.

Yelp
My boss took me here for lunch. It's a breakfast-y spot. I liked it. The staff seemed a little spaced out? But maybe that's unfair. The vibe is like... eating at a bakery or cafe. A quick in and out meet up spot. It's a cool place if you want breakfast.

Vinny G.

Yelp
Great place always a smile, great food waitresses seem like neighborhood people Good food, good prices happy customers, antique decor and old word feel, down home atmosphere great step back in time

Roger d.

Yelp
A greasy spoon. Its small, cramped and poorly ventilated. I think people go here for the nostalgia theme. I get it! Its a real 1930s diner. But the food is bland. The fried potatoes havent had a crunch since theywere dug up. Waitresses are nice but they treat regulars in a friendly manner. Strangers are served as if they are intruding. But whatever my opinion people flock here. Bottom line: you are better down the street at Effies.

Leonardo D.

Yelp
The food is pretty good and service is fast, but it is the overall "old diner" experience that makes Quaker Diner great. This little diner is a trip back in time, whether sitting in a booth or at the counter, the experience is memorable. My only complain was with cheddar home fries. The cheese felt more like nacho cheese. I will not be getting those again. Overall this is a solid place.

Sam T.

Yelp
We dined at Quaker Diner today for the first time instead of our usual breakfast stop at A.C. Peterson. The diner is cute and small however the nice waitress pointed out an available booth in the back to eat. I did notice there are seats at the counter of one doesn't mind sitting there. The waitress who took our orders and served our food was pleasant but moved a little too fast for me at times. My pancakes were very good, fluffy and what you expect of an excellent pancake. His omelette was ok including the sausage however he did not like the hone fries. I believe requesting the home fries to be cooked crispier would have made a difference. Quaker Diner is certainly worth a visit for a quick tasty breakfast.

Bill U.

Yelp
On my visit to family in Hartford from San Angelo TX, my brother and I enjoyed the food and excellent service on multiple occasions. Real home-style food delicious and in great portions. One of my all-time favorite restaurants.

Kurt N.

Yelp
Usually when the waitstaff is this surly, you expect excellent diner fare. Not so. Everything is acceptable, nothing of note - omelettes dry, pancakes rubbery, coffee weak. A small place and moves people through pretty quickly. Not great for a group of more than 4.

Tony M.

Yelp
1.) Introduction: Diners, schminers. What makes a diner different than another? "But they make eggs, pancakes, bacon and fresh toast, Anthony!" Wow! Whooptie-doo! I still wanted to check this place out. Quaker Diner has its competitor, AC Petersen's which is down the street. But I guess the difference is that Quaker Diner has history. 2.) What you may see: You may feel like you're back in the 1940s, 50s or 60s. It's a small place, so when it is busy you can find yourself feeling awkward, standing and hovering around people's tables while you wait for a table or place at the bar side. This place still keeps the decor looking retro, with an old telephone, jukebox (which I believe does not play), and toys and gadget that are shelved over the tables. 3.) Food: I ordered the short stack of french toast, and an order of two eggs with corn beef hash and hash browns. They tasted pretty standard for a diner. Maybe next time i'll try their omelettes that I've been reading about on here. If you order an apple or orange juice, they don't serve it from the juice tap, it comes in a bottle, and I believe the company was Tropicana. 4.) Service: Standard diner wait staff service. They only accept cash and check. Apparently they are use to the many customers who come in only with debit/credit cards, so they tell them to go to the gas station to grab cash from the ATM. They may need to change that system sometime soon. But I see what they're trying to maintain, that old fashioned style. I guess now that I know, now I know. 5.) Impressions: I can walk to this place, so that's pretty good. I don't want to go to that other diner down the street anymore. lol.

Yelp
Considering how small the eatery is, our wait time wasn't too bad. The service at Quaker Diner was incredibly efficient, at least in my experience. Just note that they're only open until 1:30 pm on the weekends but serve breakfast the entire time ( lunch menu available only on weekdays). First of all, the coffee is outstanding. Since I drank about two cups more than usual, the caffeine was merrily, merrily coursing through my veins while we waited for our order. The menu didn't offer anything terribly unusual, just a wide selection of traditional diner classics with a range of omelet options, French toast, pancakes & homefries. I chose the raspberry pancakes, which were amazing- a nice contrast between the tangy fruit filling and light, buttery pancake flavor. My friend went for the kielbasa & cheese omelet, another delicious choice. Also, if you love homefries, definitely try them here. Just don't make my mistake and opt for the "cheddar homefries". What I envisioned to be a light sprinkle of shredded cheese turned out to be a big glistening glob of nacho-esque topping. So I worked around it. No big deal. I'd order a plain batch next time. The verdict? Excellent food, but try to get here early on weekends. We went around 9:30 and the place was already packed, so I imagine it gets busier as the hours roll by. Service was quick, prices reasonable, cash only. Enjoy!

Kara S.

Yelp
I live within walking distance of the Quaker Diner and I love it. Everything is good, the staff is friendly and the Portuguese roll that they serve their egg sammichs on is a big puff of Heaven. There is often a wait for a table or stool at the counter but it usually goes fast.

Nic B.

Yelp
Meh. Just meh. This is the issue with west of the river breakfast, few options. I am from east of the river where local gods such as Cosmic Omelet, Pastrami on Rye and the Main Street locals dominate the breakfast arena. In the Westerly territories, where we live our lives in a breakfast desert, this is local favorite and it is a very basic diner. It's super cute, it lives in a "train car" kind of building. The food is a-ok and nothing special. I will take it any day over the snotty cafes I am faced with for alternatives. Seriously, east of the river breakfast entrepreneurs need to franchise out here. 20 minutes away and starving for a unique breakfast spot. I usually order a feta and spinach omelet and tolerate the homefries because I am a hashbrown girl 100%. Nothing a little a ketchup can't class right up.

Erica K.

Yelp
YUM! Love this place and I love sitting on the stools, watching the chefs cook. Simple and quaint this is a great diner. Good coffee, awesome omelettes, delicious food. They don't get credit card so make sure you have cash. Very tiny place so be prepared to wait.

Kris L.

Yelp
Ambience: old fashioned diner, cute and small Food: fresh, well seasoned, well cooked. I had eggs and turkey sausage-would def order it again. Price: cheap, lots of bang for your buck Service: singlehandedly keeping this place from 5 stars. MANAGEMENT PLS MAKE A SIGN THAT SAYS SEAT YOURSELF. Everyone stands awkwardly in the doorway until the staff eventually mention it's seat yourself.

J B.

Yelp
How can you not respect and admire a place with so much history? Our waitress was new-ish to her job, but a total riot. :) They didn't have the advertised side of coleslaw available for my order, so checked with me if I would be okay with a substitution and then proceeded to provide me with two generously-portioned options on my plate. There are very few places, especially around here, where you can get such down-to-earth, friendly and welcoming service.

daniel r.

Yelp
Food was quite good...service was quick....prices very reasonable...BUT. It lacked the character that we were expecting from a retro 50's diner. Its got a few old signs, mixers etc from the "good old days" on display but it lacked the warm, fuzzy feeling we thought we'd get. Our server was, I guess, friendly enough but just going through the motions/seemed bored. My sausage and cheese omelet was actually above average and loaded with delicious ingredients. My friend enjoyed his feta cheese omelet...our hash browns seemed non descript. Coffee was fine. Perhaps we were both expecting too much on our nostalgia seeking journey.

Yelp
WAITRESS WAS TOO RUDE. I believe her name was Marilyn. We had never been there before, so upon arrival we waited at the door not knowing if we should wait to be seated or seat ourselves. The waitress by the cash register doesn't even say hello, just says seat yourselves while using her phone not even looking at us. We seat ourselves and she asks "drinks?" And proceeds to have an attitude, at this point I am already beyond annoyed at such behavior and tell my boyfriend I decided not to eat there. She then walks by us and literally throws her notepad onto the table, right in front of where I was seated. I truly believe to work in the service industry one needs to have a good attitude, this woman and her attitude do not fit in there. I wish the nice lady with the glasses had taken care of us. Everyone else in there was so nice, even the cook gave us a warm smile when he dropped off my boyfriend's food.

Yelp
Best place for an authentic diner experience. Real food for an amazing price. This is a place where regulars go every day. Great value!
