Quality Hostel K's House Takayama

Great value and location. I have stayed here twice. Small but clean and practical rooms.

I absolutely did not like this place at all! It was extremely uncomfortable, and the atmosphere felt suffocating. The lack of fresh air made it unbearable. I understand it’s a budget hostel, but personally, it wasn’t for me 🫥

The hostel is near the train and bus station and has private rooms and dormitories. There's a communal kitchen and lounge and if you stay for three or more nights you may use the washing machine for free. The staff is lovely and very helpful. My private room was very clean and spacious. Apart from the bed there was only a shelf, a small table and a chair would have been nice.

We stayed in a triple with a private bath. Towels and bedding were provided. The location is great, close to the bus/train station and within walking distance to the sites. The staff was super kind and helpful and the place has a community/traveler vibe. There is a shared living room, dining room and kitchen where you can have a cup of tea and chat with others. I traveled with my kids and felt safe and welcome.

The people here are the main draw, from staff to fellow hostel users. The small rooms mean low prices and so a lot of tourists from all around the world, all using the lounge. Everyone's super friendly and it's so easy to strike up conversation with other tourists, plus share recommendations. It's really thanks to the fact that the lounge and dining areas are comfortable spaces for people to eat and hang out. I talked to about 10 fellow hostel guests and made 3 friends!

This was a top tier hostel to stay at. And so close to the festival that was taking place at the time. The front staff was very helpful, and they helped me plan other side trips and such. It was great to talk to the other people who were staying in the cozy common spaces and the kitchen. I made a lot of new friends!

My wife and I stayed here in a private double room from the 05/11/2019 to the 07/11/2019. The location is excellent, the train station only takes a few minutes to walk to and it close to restaurants and shops.|It has a shared lounge area, kitchen with two fridges and two ovens. The place was quite clean and the staff are really friendly. |Our room was clean and was bigger than most rooms we have stayed at while in Japan. It was great to spread our clothes out. The room had 4 hangers for clothes. The bathroom is small and you have to step up, to walk into the bathroom, I almost fell over a couple of times trying to enter the bathroom during the night. The shower pressure is good. There is no tv in your room here.|The beds are hard (I didn't have a problem with) and the pillows are way to soft. The pillows don't support your neck and caused me a few problems trying to sleep. This place should invest in some firm pillows. Overall, considering the price, the room space, friendly staff and location, it is a very good place to stay.

We spent 2 nights in Takayama which we all loved. It’s such a nice easy going town and really enjoyed the Hida Folk Museum. The K’s Quality Hostel was excellent. From the minute we walked through tue door, we felt very comfortable. The staff were amazing and so hospitable. The dining area and sitting areas were beautifully decorated and cozy. The kitchen was well equipped. Lots of information to help with visiting places and travel. The rooms were comfortable and fair priced. Would give this place 10 out of 10.
