Quality Hotel Grand, Kongsberg

I stopped overnight in this hotel on a road trip towards the East of Norway.|I had a hard time finding the underground garage entrance, Google Maps shows it as in the same block as the hotel, but in fact the entrance is on the opposite side of the road from the hotel entrance. Parking gives direct entrance to the hotel reception.|My room was a bit of a contrast. The bedroom was very modern (brand new) and egonomically the best hotel room layout I have seen. It had a gigantic flatscreen tv with internet connection and casting from mobile devices worked. Wifi coverage was also excellent. So far so good.|However the bathroom was not so modern. The toilet seat was the thinnest, cheapest thing you could buy and it was loose. The toilet bowl was dark under the water line as if it had not seen a toilet brush in a long time. The handbasin mixer tap handle was all squint and could be pulled off, missing a fixing. And lastly I only discovered in the morning that the shower cabinet was completely missing one of its doors! I honestly cannot undertand how all of these issues were left like that for guests.|The restaurant had the usual pizz-pasta-salad-burger menu, I ordered the bacon cheesburger which was excellent. All the staff were very polite and service minded.|My night sleep (a Friday night ) was constantly disturbed by a noisy street outside, people shouting and cars revving their engines until the early hours. I do not know if this was a one off or every weekend.|The buffet breakfast was again excellent, real scrambled eggs, real sausages, bacon, small new potatoes - no mushroom though thats the only thing I missed.|If it was not for the terrible state of the bathroom (and a little due to the noisy street) I would have given this hotel 5/5

The bathroom water heater was not working during my stay, daily housekeeping is not a given, one has to inform the front desk daily, no individual ironing boards in the room, but a common iron room on the 4th floor .though the breakfast fare is good and restaurant staff are pleasant, it doesn't cover for the hotel's shortcomings

Good quality hotel just got all rooms renovated and new good looking upgraded resting lounge. Excellent dining service and food is absolutely delicious. Also at lobby have pool table and other games to enjoy and spend some great time with friends family or kids.

I am very satisfied with this stay. Nice breakfast, nice people and a nice room.||The location of this hotel is the best place to stay in Kongsberg.

I want to share this perfect hotel with all guests that need rest, a place in the sun, a lot of space in the hotel room, and also good service on their holiday, rehabilitation or work week in Kongsberg. We always stay here and have been guests more than 10 times before in recent years. The hotel has most of what you need, a nice restaurant and even nicer breakfast, also a wonderful range of rooms, and the biggest ones are nicest! We got a handicap friendly room as I had broken my foot and needed rest. Also, the service of cleaning, and roomservice was immaculate. The employees in the reception area took well care of me and our needs, and the hotel is renovated this year with a new workout hall. I loved the pool and spa, that is now closed, and hope for it to return by the next time we arrive - a wonderful poison-free pool area. we also love the small glass lift! Also, we loved the view from our room.

Hotel located in very good place. No free parking is provided. Rooms have only one small caffe table only supports a personal laptop. The dinner menu is limited.
