I stayed overnight here in July 25 on a trip up the west coast.|The hotel is beside a picturesque waterway and perfectly placed in the city cetre area. Its a bit of a sprawling place with hundreds of rooms.|Its a very modern decorated hotel and my room was very good. For some reason it had an electric kettle but no coffee/tea facilities whatsoever which was a bit strange. The mini fridge was barely cold inside even though it was on the lowest thermostat setting. The flatscreen tv was not internet connected so only linear tv but wifi coverage was good in the room and I had no issues watching streaming series on my tablet.|The bathroom was nice and modern with good shower. |Although the hotel boasts it has four restaurants, but when I stayed there on a Saturday, only the waterfront bar served food with a limited menu. (the usual burgers etc).|The highlight of the stay was by far the buffet breakfast. I have stayed in many hotels here in Norway but this was undoubtedly the best breafast. Plenty of everything, bacon, fried eggs, grilled tomato, proper scrambled eggs, unusually they offered two different types of proper sausages (not the bland hot dog style), Also very nice mushrooms which were great.|Parking is available in the hotel building but is operated by a third party parking company, the cost was reasonable, only 215,- NOK for an overnight stay.||All in all I had a very nice stay.

Hotel was over expectactions. Comfy rooms, clean and tidy (only balcony doors soon need change, moves heavy from deep dirt on door guides), so big applause for housekeepers. Large variery of choice on breakfast, good evening meals.

Best breakfast evar Yes, I mean it. I'm not usually the breakfast type (intermittent faster here), but given that breakfast was not optional but mandated with my booking I simply had to eek out some VFM. I'm glad I did, the breakfast was simply superb. Certainty no scrambled eggs from powder mix here. The room was ok - but basic. Some sockets didn't seem to work. In typical Scandinavian fashion the shower was a wet room with underfloor heating, which is always a pleasant experience. Everything was clean and tidy. Aircon was good, noise levels also good.

Requires some upgrade/maintenance. No aircon in rooms so not very good experience when temperature goes above 20'C outside. Breakfast is good and personnel is helpful.

Rooms in desperate need of USB charging sockets, though shower and especially breakfast (including staff there) are good. Too few reception staff though ones they have are too stern and frowning.

Last minute decision to go on a getaway and attend a Christmas show, Traditional Norwegian Christmas Dinner and get a romantic night in a hotel room. ||Let’s start with the show and dinner feedback. Absolute worth it. Food was excellent with a good variety of foods including traditional Norwegian food. The show gave a good laugh. Breakfast next morning was also good with everything you would expect from a Norwegian breakfast buffet. Waiters were highly professional and had a welcoming and friendly approach. You felt welcome. ||Now the hotel:||Room was rather small and had only one rather thin duvet. The bed was a cheap hard and worn out one where you could feel the springs in the back. Two rather sad pillows in total that had lost its «fluffyness». | No phone to the reception to get another duvet. Had to walk down to the reception and request one more and was given one from the receptionist as this was the most natural thing to do. The room had an old wall to wall carpet that was definitely not from this century and had also seen its better days. Probably a lot of history in it. | Cleanliness could definitely improve and room was also ready for renovation. |There was also a kettle in the room but no cups, coffee or tea? Should we bring our own? The temperature was too warm so had to open up the window since there was no way to control the temperature in the room. | We did not have a good sleep at all. ||For the corridor to the room with old wall to wall carpets and «artworks» on the wall. It was like walking down the memory lane of the great 80’s when I remember this was a state of the art hotel! ||Will we come back? Yes for food but not for a sleep.

Room was clean and comfortable, nice to have a balcony for a bit of fresh air - shower was a little strange and floods the bathroom, but water pressure is excellent.|Stayed for two nights so was a little disappointed that my room wasn't refreshed - towels replaced, but not a big deal.|Cafe Rene is a cosy and atmospheric bar area with cute and nostalgic silhouettes from 'Allo 'allo tv series. the Naustet restaurant is phenomenal - the decor is outstanding, as a vegetarian I wasn't excited about the singular choice, however it is hands-down the best vegetarian meal I have had in my life!

Rooms are very “European” — a bit small and tight. But the view of the fjord and the small balcony was fantastic and the shower was nice and hot so not bad at all. I was there for a conference and the buffet food was outstanding. Fresh, well prepared, and presented. Again, the patio on the fjord is fantastic.
