The visit was awesome! I booked this hotel for our 2 year anniversary. It was nice until we turned down the a/c and noticed if the room was under freezing temperature a lot of bugs would come out. So the entire stay of 7 day's we had to freeze through the night's. Other then the freezing, the hotel staff we're very warming and helpful. They made the stay pleasing and enjoyable! The rate for the stay was over priced for what the hotel turned out to be. The hotel was a little runned down, the elevator was struggling to work, the window's hasn't been cleaned in a very long time, the wifi was free but for 4 day's of our stay, and there was no cable just basic t.v. I would recommend this hotel but it isn't a place for romance nor family. The amenities they offer are true except the accessible for visually impaired and roll in shower.

This place was nice for what you pay for . The hotel itself is about 2 blocks from the beach and is located around a lot of restaurants . Our room was on the 5th floor and the view was literally of the big tree in front of the hotel . Bed and pillows were super comfy. Bathroom is on the small side . I liked that it had a chest to organize our clothes . TV had about 72 channels . WIFI is free but I got really bad signal so I didn't even use it . Breakfast is free and on the rooftop which was really nice . The staff was also really nice . Def a good place to stay when your on a budget .

This Hotel Is Not FoR A vacation Stay But Rather An overnight stop and go. The rooms are rather cosy and the beds are very comfortable; however I think this hotel needs to be remodeled and become more modernized. The Internet was very unreliable in my room and dropped very often..I literally had to stand in hallway under modem/Reuter to use the Internet. The breakfast was great for the 1st and 2nd day of our stay....but after the 3rd and 4th day it was impossible to eat the same thing everyday..it lacked variety. we were almost eaten alive by mosquitoes nightly..we reported this problem and a technician sprayed the room which alleviated the problem a bit. I think this hotel might be overpriced....my opinion.

I do not recommend this hotel. I stayed on the 7th floor and the walls had mold, old furniture, stained carpet and unpleasant odor.

For the price, I would say the hotel was great. If you're looking for a budget friendly hotel in a good location, The Wave is perfect for you. Although I believe the room cleanliness could have been a little better: the chair at the desk had visible grime, the fitted bed sheets (the ones underneath) had some yellow stains, so I slept with a blanket over the whole bed, the bathroom towels looked about ready to be disposed of. On the good side, customer service was fantastic! They were very attentive of our needs, and they made the stay so great. There was a hot tub on the roof with a beautiful view, and that too was a highlight that I couldn't have missed. Special mention: Yosei/ Yosef at the front desk. He worked AM, got us into our room hours before check in time, gave us restaurant recommendations, assisted us with common Spanish to know, and was such an overall great addition that I had to shout him out! (sorry if I got his name wrong.)

We stayed in this hotel for 6 days 5 nights and this was not worth it. I should start by saying the staff was nice, but the hotel looked and felt like a MOTEL. The room we had was dirty, TOWELS were dirty, bed sheets were wet (YES WET) floor was dirty. The room smelled. We requested a different room but were told that the other room they had available had an AC issue. We spent the majority of our time out, we did end up buying sheets and cleaning supplies, our bed was also broken. The pictures that are on the page do not reflect how the hotel looks now.

I liked the hotel. I had breakfast on the rooftop in the mornings. Get there early because when it's gone, it's gone. Close to the beach. A short walk to good food.

This place was horrible!!! THE ROOMS WERE DIRTY!!! Everything was sticky and not from humidity, literally like sticky rings on tables and stains... the sheets were dirty, they would not supply extra pillows and would only hand you an extra towel if you handed in the dirty towel you had...? GOD FORBID YOU NEEDED EXTRA SOAP OR OTHER TOILETRIES!! Our rooms had ants. The rooms themselves made no sense... 1 room had a safe the, other did not, 1 had an iron the other did not. We had 1 night stand and 1 lamp in the room... It was just horrible! All of the amenities they offer online are non-existent!! 1 of our rooms only had flat sheets no blanket. The rooftop bar is non-existent, the restaurant non-existent, the rooftop hot tub... was a joke... the jets are broken so it is just luke warm sitting water, possibly just rain water??? That alone is a health code violation! And they also felt it was ok to still send people into this hot tub, by saying it was "spa-pool" And the stairwell was not lit at all, it was a dark trap which 1 of us fell walking up the stairs. We also had items go missing from our hotel room. IT WAS SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, AND THE STAFF WAS CONDESCENDING WHEN LISTENING TO OUR GRIEVANCES... AND HAD A SMIRK ON THEIR THE ENTIRE TIME. If I could leave 0 stars I would!!

The worst hotel I'm Puerto Rico the management horrible. We never got offered clean towels no one ever came to clean room we found mood on all the pillows in room complaint to manager and he had the nerve to stay it's from sweat no breakfast at the hotel no phones in the room just one horrible experience here please don't ever stay here

My friend and I had a great time staying here! The front desk folks are super nice and helpful. No, you can't flush toilet paper, but this is very common in most of the world. So if you've never left the United States or the UK, be prepared. They took our trash every day, so it wasn't an issue. And since my friend is also a dog trainer, we had little doggie poop baggies to put that kind of toilet paper in hoping to make it better for the cleaning staff. . As far as the temperature is concerned, we had a hiccup at first because it was freezing and we couldn't figure out the thermostat. Someone came to fix it and it was great the rest of the time. Here's the setting for the thermostat: cool should be on auto AND fan should be on auto. Then set your desired temperature. . The rooftop was nice. We were there off season so there were not a lot of people and the hot tub looked very clean. Thank you to everyone at The Wave!

Stayed here for the first time visiting pr and it did not disappoint. It was very close to the airport and old San Juan. And the beach was literally a 10 min walk. I had the st view from my room so every morning I would look out the window to see the weather and if ppl were ready up walking around. There was also a couple of restaurants and a Walmart walking distance which was a plus. The only downside was the rooftop was so empty. There was a bar area with no alcohol or bar keep and the jacuzzi was there but I couldn't figure out how to turn on the jets. But I liked that the lobby sold drinks downstairs so I would buy beer or water. Id recommend staying here it was clean and the staff was very helpful.

The definition of "no frills". The fridge had rust on it. The bathroom had mould, and there was an odour outside that spread to the room. And the hot tub was acceptable at best. The good: The hotel had good amount hot water vs Old San Juan. They offered free towels for the beach. And close to the beach.

The Wave Hotel on Condado Avenue in San Juan is a great place to stay by the beach and in the middle of everything. I really like the location and atmosphere here that allows you to relax and enjoy everything. The staff here is very attentive and makes sure that you have everything that you need for the best stay.

I was a little hesitant about staying at The Wave Hotel Condado after I had read the reviews, but our stay was an overall good experience. It was incredibly accessible and was walking distant from the casino and Condado Playa. We did run across a leaky ceiling, but after explaining to the hotel staff how the leak was getting and the toilet valve also leaking, we were moved to another hotel room. The hotel staff also worked with us during our check in due to a delayed flight and they were incredibly friendly and assisted our every need. It does appear the hotel is still recovering from COVID19 with not having enough staff coverage, but I recognize we are still in a global pandemic.

Not clean. Really loud lobby. No way to call the front desk. Shower toilet bed and floors had clear dirt or hair on them. Fridge is broken in room 202. The bathroom is ver small. The sink is so shallow water splashed all over the floor when I washed my hands. The direct tv has few options. The location is convenient right near the highway and a gas station but there is a reason it was less expensive than other locations. The front desk was nice but they couldn't do much to change my experience. This wasn't the worse place I have stayed but it was A reminder that you need to pay for quality.

Had some problems checking in at first and front desk was kinda rude and unaccommodating. We needed an extra bed which they say they do all the time but they didn't get us one or even just offer us a room with a king size so we had to push our 2 twin beds together (it was 3 girls traveling).We got that situated. I would say the hotel is ok if you have the mindset that you're just at the room to rest, shower & go. It's nothing for relaxation. There aren't many amenities. One microwave on the 4th floor (none in rooms) in the ice room & it looks a little sketch but it's all good. They don't come and get your towels, you have to bring em down and exchange, no breakfast or anywhere in the lobby to have a little continental breakfast. The staff was sweet tho but it's just a very basic room. Kinda reminded me of my college dorm but the staff really make the place what it is! I had to come down and request a few things. They do have a refrigerator, TV, and a safe in the room tho!

This is my second time in PR and when I tell you this hotel really out did themselves. From the fresh smelling lobby to the rooftop views, my experience was amazing. The rooms are clean (and that is a pet peeve for me). The rooftop was serene. I visited during the 4th of July weekend and it wasn't too crowded. It was quiet and comfortable!

If I could give this dump less than a star I would, the hallways are badly damaged and in need of serious repair, my room was dirty upon arrival. The headboard and night table was stained. The staff is less than helpful and not accommodating- it's like your doing them a favor being there. As I complained that my room was dirty I got "that's the way it is"- there are many other options nearby. I would much rather sleep in my rental car then stay in this filthy, unkept "motel"

I'm on the top floor and it's really nice, aside for the cold ass room it's pretty good. I would suggest covering the vent or bringing a blanket... Other than that it's awesome! The roof top has two hot tubs and the potential to be an amazing roof top party spot.... Beautiful!

This was a pretty great spot! My fiancé booked it through Groupon for our first time visiting Puerto Rico. This boutique hotel is in a great location as it's walking distance to the beach, the strip, WalMart (lol) and a quick Uber ride to Old San Juan. That being said, the view is pretty standard of a hotel in the city. We stayed on the third floor and had a street view. The smell of the hotel is Amazing. I know that's an odd compliment but it smells so good...all the time. There is a basic complimentary breakfast on the rooftop with bagels, cereal, ham and cheese, toast and yogurt. It's cute but basic. Apparently before the hurricane, they would have parties and such on the rooftop but not anymore. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful for tours and sight seeing information. My only reason for 4 stars is on more than one occasion , housekeeping didn't give us washcloths. We didn't realize it until one of us was already in the shower. There aren't phones in the rooms so we used our cellphone to call the front desk. They said they would send them up immediately but they never came until we went downstairs to request them again. Also the walls are pretty thin. So thin that a guest sneezed in the other room, I said bless you and they thanked us. We were both speaking normally and could hear each other clearly. Wasn't terribly noisy or anything and didn't have a problem sleeping at night but found it odd. Other than that, great stay! Would stay again if the price was right!

If you like to take hot showers this is not the hotel for you. Other then that it's okey.

I wish I can put 0 stars this place is a scam they took 1,618 dollars from me when I only booked one night that was already paid for originally costed $152-been paid btw. They didn't give us the room that was initially ordered they gave us a dirty twin bed room. As we were leaving to our flight we were told this was going to handled and now we are being ghosted since we left PR. No consideration of my bills that's are due this hotel wiped my account out and now I can't even get into contact with anybody!! How unprofessional

Not impressed at all dirty booked and paid for 2 days and left the next morning after 1 night, live electrical wires hanging from the wall near the floor, dangerous. Paid for 2 days for my tiny morkie dog and wad told they could not give me back my 100 dollars for an additional day that I did not stay supposedly the accountant would give me the credit I'm still waiting. Let's just say unless the circumstances were bad i would not stay at this property overpriced and absolutely needs cleaning and was dangerous, I mentioned to the front desk hopefully they will send maintenance before a guest gets hurt. Also, you have to book to use a jacuzzi since there is no pool, supposedly they have a sister hotel called The Ivy not far but who wants to have to walk down the street to get back to your room dripping wet?

Lots of issues with this property. I was first booked into a 7th-floor room facing the parking lot, which was fine except the room was freezing and the analog thermometer wouldn't alter the temperature in the room. I was relocated into a 4th floor room with a digital thermometer facing the plaza, which had a *very* strong mold smell and a lot of noise at night (car horns, music blasting, loud voices, etc). The staff was initially very helpful, but then sort of gave up trying to improve my stay. Also, shower didn't work properly; knobs were loose and didn't properly regulate hot/cold water, or turn off all the way. Also, 'continental breakfast' on rooftop patio was a few greying slices of ham and the same apples they seem to recyle each morning. Location is great and staff is overall friendly (albeit didn't go that extra mile). This place is probably fine for a day or two in San Juan, especially at the low rates. But for a longer stay like I had (14 nights), I'd suggest trying elsewhere. rj

I love this hotel! Its just 2 months old, modern look hotel. It's cute, clean, friendly staff, small and intimate. My first time in Puerto Rico and the staff was very helpful and informative about the area. They made sure that you were happy and having a great time and indeed I was happy and I loved my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel. I will defiantly return to Puerto Rico and the Wave of course! Thank you Jorge for stopping at nothing to get me my birthday massage at the last minute. Bless you guys!

Excellent affordable option very close to the beach. They have a great complimentary breakfast on the rooftop which overlooks San Juan. We had a lovely vacation here.

Clean, great location, 1 1/2 blocks from the ocean. Hot tubs and a bar on the roof. No frills, but close to everything.

The rooftop complimentary breakfast was good as well as the rooftop hot tubs. Rooms were just ok! There was no soap in the bathroom. I'm glad that I had my own. The carpet needs to be changed because it smells old. The view from my hotel window was a rooftop; horrible. Hotel room was small. Staff was friendly and that was a plus. The best part of my stay was enjoying dinner with my husband at the restaurant next door. Hotel is located too far from the beach. My biggest issue was due to my flight being diverted and then a passenger getting sick, I was unable to check-in on the first day of my reservation. And since I was unable to change my late check-in to a "no-show" because I unable to place a phone call from the airplane, I was penalized for arriving late. This hotel would not refund my money to me. I knew that was I would arrive late because I booked a night flight. But the diversion of the airplane and having a passenger get sick was completely out of my control. The front desk clerk could've been a little more accommodating! I won't be back and I definitely would not recommend this hotel.

From the first day the staff have been very friendly and helpful. Easy checkin! Also the lobby and our room were both very clean. Room was a bit small honestly but there was only two of us so it was good. Rooftop is nice. My husband bought a hookah and we would go up there to smoke and snack a bit. Beautiful view and the jacuzzi's were nice. Rooftop closes at 10 PM on weekdays. Posted hours don't change on the weekends but music was blasting well past midnight. Cleaning crew were very good and accommodating. Recommend this hotel for easy access to the hot spots and affordable stay.

The hotel was dirty. The mirrors in the elevator were dirty all 4 nights that we stayed. The room was dirty, the pillow cases were dirty. The floor was filthy as well as the walls were filthy and damaged. The shower was okay but we had to play with the nozzle in order to get hot water. The lady on the rooftop was there for only one night out of our four day stay. We didn't get our complementary drinks because no one showed up to work the bar. There was one microwave in a hidden room for the whole hotel to use. There is no parking here. The receptionist was rude and kept disappearing. Walked into the hotel multiple times and guest were mad because there was no receptionist. The hotel gave us one little towel and was rude when we asked for more. No one cleans the rooms. The only good thing about this hotel was that it is close to the beach. They also charged us an extra deposit fee when we arrived.

I had an amazing experience when I stayed at this hotel in 2018. Fast forward to March 2021, I decided to book this hotel because of my previous experience. EPIC FAIL and it's not due to Covid restrictions. I am going to start by saying the hotel was paid through Expedia before my travels. I get to the hotel, check in, I give them my debit card for the $100 deposit that's required. I wake up the very next morning and there's $1316.18 deducted from my account. They charged my card for my room that was already paid for. I am not a stranger to PR but to go on vacation and have $1300 plus dollars removed from my account was a hard hit. Still I remained patient and calm. It took them 7 days to send my refund!!! That's not the kicker ....the refund wasn't the full amount and I'm still waiting on my deposit 2 weeks later... honestly if it wasn't for some staff members this hotel will be the Horror Hotel... not sorry still waiting on my money I would not recommend this hotel at all...

On October 24, I planned to leave this hotel to take a plane back to my house in Florida. To my great surprise the water was cut off due to an inconvenience, as I was informed, in the hotel pipeline, at 9:30 AM. I spoke with the reception and they told me to wait a little while they were "struggling." Wasted time waiting, I had to go to the airport without showering, shaving, or even brushing my teeth or washing my face - there were no bottles of water in the room - neither they offer me a simple water bottle to clean myself. I think it is disrespectful and an offense to the client. I understand problems or accidents but usually clients are warned and helped when there is a breakdown. My indignation to this abuse was expressed in the strongest words!. I submitted my complaint in writing and I just got a vague apology. For the rest the hotel is just ok with the great inconvenience of one elevator for people and service. The location is good however.

First and last time staying at this hotel.The rooms are ridiculously small, the hot water for the shower didn't work, the toilet wouldn't flush and the towels they gave us smelled like chlorine and gave my boyfriend a rash. The hot tubs looked like they haven't been cleaned in months and looked like a dirty bath tub. Also the elevators barely work and took us to every floor when we were just tryna get to the lobby. The location and price were good but still not worth it.

Super friendly staff and very helpful. They truly went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and guide us while we were there. Specially on our last day, when the taxi drivers went on strike and we had no ride to go to the airport. One of the Managers gave us a ride. It is a new hotel and they don't have many amenities, but it is super close to many bars, and restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Waited over an hour to check in bc they didn't have any rooms ready. When you ask how much longer until the room is ready you don't even get a direct answer. Very unprofessional.

Loved this hotel. The hotel is small but cozy and the staff super friendly and attentive. For the most part it was clean and well taken care of. The best thing about the hotel is the location. Walking distance to major tourist areas in Condado. If you have a car parking might be a problem but if you can't find parking in the street then they will give you a pass to park at a public garage down the street but it'll cost you $10/night + tax. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel. The setup is cozy and makes you feel right at home. Miguel at the front desk, made me feel right at home and was very resourceful in helping me navigate the area. He also made sure that the room was equipped with everything necessary.

I had a very pleasant stay at the The Wave. Room had a nice modern flare and was very clean. The staff was very accommodating to our needs and super friendly. Walking distance to many great restaurants, beach and walmart.

Nice hotel in the heart of condado. 3 blocks from the beach. Near the hwy. Taco Bell and burger king up the block. Walking distance to ashford strip where all the restaurants and bars and shopping. I definitely recommend this hotel. They have a rooftop jacuzzi with a nice view over looking the city

I found this place on Groupon and was skeptical at first because the last hotel I got on Groupon was a nightmare! However this has been the best experience I've had at a hotel yet. The staff is AMAZING. They will go above and beyond for their guests. I got my laundry done here for free! The house keeper did it out of the goodness of her heart. (We were prepping for Hurricane Maria) The rooftop area was absolutely amazing. From the music to the 2 jacuzzis. The location is great. Just a few blocks from the beach. I mean this place is just spot on. My girlfriend and I will def come back again !

This is by far been the nicest & cost efficient hotel I've ever stayed in. The people that work there are friendly plus they're willing to go above & beyond just to help you anyway they possibly can. It's only about a 3-5 minute walk from the Hotel to the bars, restaurants & the beach. I loved my stay here & I highly suggest it. The room is beautiful with a manually changing LED light display behind the head board which is pretty cool. This hotel is for singles & couples. The view is great also; every night I would just go on the roof top to just admire the great view of the city. When I go back to Puerto Rico I'm definitely staying at The Wave Hotel in Condado! I would give this Hotel more than 5 stars if I could!

Recently opened for business. Stayed there over a week ago ... friendly staff! Nice new and cleaned BUT a few details they need to take care of. Coffee maker not working, phone not connected... the highlight of our stay was we asked for double beds. To our surprised they were TWIN size!! We were 3!! No rolling beds available!!! They need to let their guest know! That is their version of double beds. They have king beds, but not available at the time. We stayed one night, so we made the best of it!

Overall, The Wave was reasonably priced with friendly staff and clean amenities. If you are considering staying near San Juan and want a clean room with most modern hotel amenities, this is your place! It was recently renovated from my understanding, and overall the room was charming. Though it is close to the beach, the only reason it receives 4/5 stars is location as its a short walk to get to the beach, restaurants, and other attractions. I had a some minor issues that were promptly taken care of, which is why this hotel is definitely a great value.

This hotel is very modern and nice. It is located in the perfect location. Three blocks to the beach, two blocks to Walgreens and CVS, and close to restaurants and bars. The only negative is that they fail to replace your towels DAILY! The housekeeping staff will take your spoiled towels and never replace them! We had to ask for towels EVERYDAY! They kept telling us that the towels were being washed. They never brought us towels on the last night. I wouldn't stay here again because it was a pain requesting something so simple.

This place is so cute! Me and my boyfriend got the king room on our vacation to Puerto Rico. It's a great location, literally a 5 minute walk from the beach! The rooftop and jacuzzi is lovely and staff is good

We stayed at this hotel this past Saturday and Sunday over holy weekend. The breakfast service was terrible both days. On Sunday dishes and area was dirty so we decided not to even eat there. This is the 2nd time we stayed here, the first time we had an enjoyable stay. The young man serving breakfast was very polite, attentive, and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Total different hotel and customer service this time. The manager was not present to take our complaints, the rooms are standard but comfortable, great potential.

Great value and location! Got a Groupon for this hotel. Front desk was super helpful and knowledgeable. They recommended an excellent rain forest tour. They sent towels up and a blow dryer when I requested. They provided beach towels as well. Air conditioner works well and is adjustable. The green mood light can also be turned off. Roof top hot tub was nice; they had 80's music playing on Thursday night, and a live DJ Friday and Saturday. Breakfast was basic (oatmeal, cereal, fruit, muffins, ham, juice) but great. Beach, CVS, and restaurants are withing 5 minutes walking. Not fancy, but a cute place to spend a few days!

This place is bad for your HEALTH. Massive damp problems, it smells of damp and the rooms and so damp. You can hear EVERY NOISE from the room above and to the sides, so don't expect good sleep. You'll leave needing a vacation. Expensive, crappy neighbourhood. All in all, one of the worst places I've stayed. - I was given the key to 502 when I checked in. 502 was occupied and the person in the room wanted to fight me, thinking I was an intruder...... - Stains on the carpets in the hallways, disgusting. - The elevator is extremely old and filthy. It hasn't been cleaned in years. - The rooms are TINY, just enough room for a bed and a TV, seriously, the rooms are so small. - The windows are FILTHY. - No kettle, the phone didn't work, the bedsheets were not attached to the duvet, they were two separate sheets one on top and one on the bottom of the duvet (literally never seen this before). - The thermostat didn't work, so it just kept on spitting out cold air. I could never get it to heat the room. - The shower was broken and involved me having to turn a little plastic key instead of the handle. - The bathrooms are TINY and VERY damp. - Three hispanic guys were shouting and screaming at 1am in the hallways. I asked them to stop, and they got aggressive with me. Reception didn't help. - Another night I was woken at 2am by the neighbouring room screaming at full volume. Reception did get off their ass to intervene that night. - The people at the hot tubs turned on massively loud music at midnight. At 1am I asked reception to intervene, and they did not. - About half the time the receptionists would NOT return a "hi" when I said "hi", instead just staring at me. - My room wasn't cleaned for three days in a row, so I dumped my rubbish beside the elevator, and asked reception for new towels. - I asked for a SINGLE hour extra for late checkout, and they wanted to charge me $29. They wouldn't budge. A disgrace. I do NOT get the good reviews that people gave this dump. Over $140 a night for this dump and all these problems. Insane.

Great hotel!!! The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful with practically everything!! I would definitely stay again. It is placed in a great location. You can walk to the beach or walk to the bars in la placita.
