A Carbondale tradition, those of us raised there can recite the phone number by heart. Get the deep dish.

Delicious and great flavors. Worth the wait in the parking lot. I waited an hour before a ate a slice. Very good I imagine sitting down to eat would be even better

Google
I don't give may 5 star reviews across the board. The thin crust is good, but the deep dish is GOLD. The sauce seems to be thicker and more flavorful on it, the crust has a great flavor, and you get those crispy Detroit-style edges. Reheat in the air fryer at 350 for about 5 minutes, and it's almost as good as fresh. Definitely worth the trip from STL. Probably a good thing that they're not closer, bc I would be ordering every week. However...a 3 topping small was almost $18, so factor that in. (We ordered a thick and thin with the same 3 toppings to compare the 2.) If I could get a couple half baked to take home, I would drive down once a month.

I've been hearing about Quatro's for probably 40 years, but I'm not passing through Carbondale all that often. Today, the opportunity for dinner presented itself, and I finally went for it. I was not disappointed. Excellent deep pan and thin crust pizza. And the cheesy garlic toast is not flashy, but it doesn't need to be. Cheese, bread, and sauce to dip it in? That's comfort food perfection. Add polite, friendly service, and a Quatro's take-home plastic cup, and I will definitely make excuses to return! Thanks for a great experience!

Google
Nice and comfortable place to eat. The Ham and Cheese on Rye was really good and came with a side of chips. The Mini Pepperoni Pizza was dripping in cheese and pepperoni, and the sauce was a little bland for my taste. Overall, it was a pleasant meal. Oh, and great customer service.

Google
The cheese garlic bread was delightful, offering a perfect balance of cheesy goodness and robust garlic flavor. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a generous layer of melted cheese that stretched with every bite. The garlic was pronounced but not overwhelming, making it a perfect appetizer or side dish. It was seasoned well, and the slight sprinkle of herbs added a fresh touch. The deep dish pizza was an indulgent experience, showcasing layers of rich, hearty ingredients. The crust was thick yet perfectly cooked, providing a satisfying crunch with a soft, doughy interior. The tomato sauce was robust and flavorful, with just the right amount of tanginess to complement the generous cheese layer. Each bite was packed with toppings, from savory meats to fresh vegetables, making it a filling and satisfying meal. The cheese was wonderfully melted and stringy, creating that classic deep-dish feel. This pizza is a must-try for anyone looking for a hearty and delicious dining experience.

Best deep pan pizza in southern Illinois. I grew up in Carbondale and this was one of my family's favorite places to eat. It was wonderful to be back this week and the pizza was, as always, delicious. Oddly, the broccoli on my salad was frozen but that's a one off so I'm still giving 5 stars!

I've been coming here for years. Love the menu items. I hope they bring back the solution beer as its the perfect match to the special pizza. 10/10 will come back again.

If you know, you know. I enjoyed Quatros as a student in the 90s and I love going back as a parent now. Quatros tastes and feels like home. I love the food, the atmosphere and the servers. You have to go home with a yellow cup. I love watching my collection grow. Every cup is from a fond memory at Quatros.

Yelp
Excellent as always. A true Carbondale institution. If you have ever had Pequods in Chicago, then when you get their deep pan you know what you are in for. They put cheese at the way to the edge of the pan and partially down the edge of the crust so the cheese caramelized and makes this crunchy crust of its own on top of their superbly crafted dough crust. The sauce is fantastic and not sweetened to give it that extra savory flavor. They use really good quality ingredients especially the cheese and a good quality Italian sausage that gives even the best versions from Chicago a run for their money. Pickup (which is what we usually do) is quick and convenient with lots of parking spaces specifically for pickup conveniently located behind the restaurant. The parking lot out front is for dine in. When you do dine in, you are treated to a classic pizza parlor vibe complete with those old school textured translucent plastic cups. Ther service is always with a smile and having had several friends who worked there over the years, they say it is a great work environment and it shows.

Yelp
I've been a loyal fan and customer of Quatro's since I first stepped on campus at SIU as a freshman - many years ago. Although the campus and town has changed somewhat dramatically over the years, Quatro's is still serving great pizza, by great employees, at a very reasonable price, and in the very same location as its beginning. I always order their "Challenge" deep pan pizza. It consists of sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomato sauce, and all covered with extra cheese. It's excellent! A small (9 inch) is $16.00, a medium (12 inch) is $21.00, and a large (14 inch) is $24.25. These pies are piled high, and unless you're with a large party, you can usually always count on taking leftovers home with you. I've always been greeted by pleasant, happy, and hardworking employees. I've never had to go looking for someone to refill my drink or bring me my bill even though at times it can be pretty hectic with college students, faculty, and locals filling the place to capacity. It's a comfortable setting with mostly booths, and a few tables. It has two eating rooms - an upper area and a lower area (watch that step), and they have just recently opened a new third, even lower level, (watch that step), where one can purchase Quatro's merchandise - t-shirts, etc.., If you're ever in Carbondale and are looking for great deep pan pizza, you definitely need to check this place out.

Yelp
Food is amazing!!!!!! I love quatro's pizza. Have never been disappointed even on New Year's Eve when they were busy, service was still very kind!

Yelp
I only had takeout so I cannot comment on the ambiance but the pizza was pretty good for middle of nowhere southern IL pizza. It was very thick and flavorful, super filling. I like the idea of "deep pain pizza" - this was an accurate name for it, not quite deep dish but not regular pan either. It wasn't my favorite style of pizza, but it was a solid pie.

Yelp
Still a great local favorite in Carbondale. Very laid back and casual. This is a place where the locals and SIU students go. The food is great and the service is always excellent!!! It can get a bit loud and if you have a crowd come early!!! They have daily specials. I recommend The Bianca if you are sensitive to tomato products/ sensitivity to acid. If you want a classic pizza get the deep dish Quatro Challenge. The deep dish is always loaded with so many goodies that you will have leftovers. Also, order a soda or tea and you get the Quatros cup to take home. They will give you a lid and straw so you can take and drink when you leave. Your cabinet will be filled with these cups (it's our standard drinking cup at home). And... wait there's more.....they box it up for you after they serve you your slices. This is still one of my favorite spots since I attended SIU in 96'.

Yelp
What a great find! A local hotspot! Its been a local favorite since the 1970's! The place was busy with dine in and carry out. Our waiter was fast and friendly. The pizza was out of this world delicious with the best cheese and amazing sauce! We also shared an order of spaghetti and loved it!!! We shared a spinach salad as it was huge. The food was the best pizza and spaghetti we have ever had in a restaurant! The ambiance is casual and the vibe is relaxing Feels like you step back in time like when they first opened! Even bought a Christmas decoration as a keepsake as we were in town for a pickleball tournament at SIU. Great college town local hotspot.

Audrey B.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this restaurant. My brother and I went out to have a nice dinner, since we are both college students and new to the area, we were wanting to try what was heralded as a great restaurant by other college students. I ordered the Vegetarian Delight pizza, which for $16 and some change for a small, I was expecting it to be pretty good. I enjoyed one slice of pizza at the restaurant and saved the rest for later. Now it's later and I was enjoying my third slice when I bit down on something hard. There was a bone fragment on my pizza, a vegetarian pizza. Unfortunately this was the final nail in the coffin, as a vegetarian, I will not be a returning customer.

Yelp
I travel a lot for work a week at a time, and typically order a pizza cause it's a least a meal for two days. I gotta say this is one of the best I've had in a while. One of the best. Quatro's challenge (supreme deep) crust was fantastic crunch and toppings were great. Definitely worth a try. I cannot speak to service as mine was to go, but staff was nice and pizza was ready, so no complaints to that.

Yelp
Any restaurant that is older than me and lasted in Southern Illinois has to get a five star rating. We came to eat here at my dad's request. I am in town to be with my family so we all piled in Quatro's. It was doing good business on a weekday lunch in a town that is not thriving. They still serve in the toxic plastic yellow cups (time to do better for the environment, Steve!!). And they still bring out pitchers. Our server was the kindest human on the planet (thank the lord since our crew were not the easiest to serve). All props to our server. No one at the table like the cheese garlic toast so maybe skip that. We ordered several pan pizzas. For the northerners reading this, pan pizza is not to be confused with Chicago Deep dish. Two totally different things. Quatro's nails the pan crust. The sauce is fine and the cheese is gooey as required. TBH it's more nostalgia than anything but nostalgia works!! They need to put hand rails in the stairs- not sure how that even passes code. The majority of the patrons appeared local (largely white dominant population), and I didn't see many college students in for lunch. This location is not too far from campus and the Strip. Quatro's is a true local tradition. Everyone knows to call 5495326 Quatro's Deep Pan Pizza!

Yelp
Delicious pizza and friendly employees. My bff's and I came here during BAG reunion on a Sunday before we hit the road back to Chicago. The pizza is so wonderful. Great sauce, fresh toppings. Madison, our waitress she was great. Fast and efficient. Thank you Quatro's.

Yelp
I want to start this off by just saying the staff here is too notch. Placed a order on the website and apparently had some issues with it getting sent through. The manager handled the situation very professionally. Our pizza came out amazing. Nothing beats that deep pan crispy crust :)

Yelp
I really love the pizza here! I never sat down and ate there so I'm not sure how the service is from a waiter/waitress but walking in to pick up my food the guy working there was patient and pretty nice .

Yelp
I've been to enough college campuses in my 52 years to recognize the restaurant staples needed to feed the students.. especially in the Midwest. You need a place to serve up a big-ass burrito. You need a sushi spot. You need a spot to get a sub sandwich.. or a grinder.. And you certainly need at least one pizza joint. Most of these places trade quality for cheap pricing (aka Dominoes), but Quatro's in Carbondale - literally across the street from Southern Illinois University - does not. They serve up a pan-style pizza that's not quite Chicago Style, but definitely not thin crust either. The sauce is a nice mix of tangy and slightly sweet, and the ingredients are fresh and very tasty. They cook the cheese right up to the crust, so there's a nice little rim of burnt mozzarella cheese along the edge of the pie, making the last bite of your slice almost better than the first. If you're from Chicago, and you're familiar with Chicago style pan pizza, then think of Pequod's only not as "deep-dish". My daughter got their lasagna and it was also very good.. it had a slightly sweeter marinara sauce than the pizza sauce, and it was very filling and very good. We ordered a garlic cheese bread as an appetizer, but there was a mix-up in the kitchen and it didn't wind up making to the table until we were almost done with our meal. Our waitress removed it from the bill and apologized. No harm - no foul... shit happens and Quatro's handled it the right way. The inside of the restaurant doesn't look like it's been remodeled since it opened - I'm guessing - in the 1970's, but it was clean and it kind of gave the place a cool, retro vibe. This is one of those must visit spots if you find yourself at SIU for any reason.

Yelp
Excellent food. Had the Quatro's Challenge and Philadelphia Cheesesteak pizzas. Both were incredible and had ample toppings. Italian beef sandwiches tasted great. Very impressed with this restaurant and we will be back next time we pass through Carbondale!

Yelp
First I love that this restaurant is still operating and serving great pizza and fresh salads. I was a Saluki in the late 80s and spent many evenings here enjoying great deep pan pizza and 99 cent pitchers of beer. It's been updated and is clean and in great shape. Thanks for being open the Monday after Christmas so I could bring my family for a bit of nostalgia and lunch on the drive home to NC. I brought home the trademark yellow plastic Quatro's cup. Great souvenir! Thanks! Our server Veronica was a professional handling the growing lunch crowd with ease. The spinach salad was huge enough to share and the Basil Pesto Chicken pizza was really good. A medium deep dish provides 2 large slices each for the three of us. Plenty for lunch. We could have saved money by purchasing the M-F lunch special, but we want to keep Steve in business for another 44 years. Happy New Year! Make 2023 your year to visit Carbondale and Quatro's!

Yelp
As a native of Carbondale, I have to say this is my favorite...for as long as I can remember. My favorites are the challenge or ham and tomato pizza, but I also love the chef salad, the house salad, the spinach salad and all the sandwiches. Great food, friendly service, comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Yelp
What happened to this place?! I gotta say, i was so excited to come back to Quatro's because i was truly impressed the last time i was in Carbondale. But this time.. what a true disappointment! I do appreciate the croutons and cheese for the kids while they waited. Kids were hungry and it was a good distraction for them while our pizza was being made. The server was friendly. Brought waters for all of us, and cups with lids and straws for the kids. We ordered a large sausage and pepperoni deep dish and a family dinner salad which waitress split in two bowls for my friend and I. Honestly seemed small for almost $8! I mean, adding a little bit more lettuce wouldn't break the bank. The Bleu cheese was delicious although I'm not sure why there's an upcharge for a common salad dressing at an Italian restaurant. I could understand charging for extra, but we weren't asking for extra. The biggest disappointment was the pizza. For a place that is known for DEEP DISH, our pizza came out looking really sad. I even asked the waitress if this was the deep dish and she said, "yes. It's been varying. We have a new cook". Ummm... then someone isn't training properly! The dough was like cardboard. There was no flavor. The sauce was extremely acidic. I mean, what happened?! I raved about this place the last time i was here. Now I'm wishing i picked up a frozen pizza from the grocery store! To top it all off, multiple staff members walked by a piece of food on the floor multiple times and another spilled ranch dressing next to our table and never came back to wipe it up. There seemed to be a lot of employees and not many were working. When we went to pay our bill i counted at least 7 tables that were waiting for food. Not one table had an entree on it. Management best check their cameras and Crack down on staff.. coz tonight was atrocious! Very disappointing.

Yelp
First, a warning for my friends from the north. This is not Chicago style deep dish pizza. (Just want to set correct expectations) Fantastic pizza. Toppings are plentiful and delicious. The crust is a perfect balance of doughy with a little crisp along the edges. Great sauce. The interior doesn't look like it's been remodeled in decades but that is not a negative. Gives the place a 70's pizzeria vibe that is a lot of fun. Our waitress, Maddy, was fast and courteous. Plus, if you get a soda, you get a plastic souvenir cup to take home! Can't recommend enough, check it out!
google avatar

Sara L.

Yelp
Not typically a fan of the pan crust pizza but this was awesome! Would love full bacon strips vs crumbles but delicious nonetheless! Check it out!

Yelp
If you're looking for good in the southern Illinois area, look no further, they're the perfect spot for any occasion. I've been coming here for years and they never disappoint, the service is always great and food is even better. Not only do they have great pizza but they have amazing ranch. If you visit I'd definitely recommend getting their BBQ chicken pizza with a side of their homemade ranch.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Driving in from out of town and a group of eight of us were looking for a place to get pizza and it was getting late. We called ahead to make sure they'd be able to accommodate us. The staff went above and beyond, suggesting we order ahead of arrival, which we did. They were friendly, accommodating, attentive and the pizza was delicious! Even though it was almost closing time we were not rushed and fully enjoyed our Quatro's experience! Highly recommend!

Amelia K.

Yelp
Quatro's has been consistently excellent for my entire adult life. Always get what I ordered and it's always prepared well and delicious. Best pizza in Southern Illinois and it has held that title unchallenged for decades. Yes, some people have other opinions on that, but they're wrong! lol. Great sauce, fresh toppings, delicious crispy cheesy crust edge...yum!
google avatar

Cornesha L.

Yelp
Great pizza. Great service. Placed a pickup order for two medium 12" pizzas and it was ready within 30 minutes. I was a little upset with the price at first but after receiving the food the price is worth it. It was a total of $49 for both deep pan pizzas tip included. A medium definitely can fill up two people. Quality of pizza and toppings is top tier!
google avatar

Joyce T.

Yelp
Delicious deep dish pizza -been coming here for 45 years! Reasonable pitchers of beer. An SIU classic!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Great service, amazing Philly Cheessteak Pizza! Prices were a little high so this will be our occasional go-to pizza place.
google avatar

Adrianne B.

Yelp
A very well-known local pizza place to go. They have the best crust ever. I usually get a pepperoni pizza, actually, I always do because it's good so I don't need to try anything else else

Troy C.

Yelp
Some of the worst pizza I've eaten. My wife and I ordered several items including the lasagna. Wow, how this place is so well rated is incredible. Everything was awful. Well, the lettuce was fresh. And, the delivery was fast. Don't eat here if you you have ANY standards for Italian food or pizza.

Michael L.

Yelp
Pizza was awesome. Super good deep dish. I would definitely eat there again. Pizza had a ton of cheese and crispy pan cooked crust.
google avatar

Michael D.

Yelp
Pizza is more like a Pan Pizza (thick crust, thin cheese layer), than a Chicago Deep Dish (thinner crust, thick cheese layer). Not bad.

Yelp
It's a really good restaurant really! But it's the bathroom for me my friend went to the bathroom and there was a guy in front of her (keep that in mind now) and the went to the bathroom to all gender bathroom and she didn't which one he was in and wing it walked in on him butt naked jerking off

Yelp
I don't think it's possible to make a pizza better than this. Growing up, we always went here. I don't like it because it's all i know, i like it because it's fresh, not cheap ingredients, great employees, and delicious! Every time we visit home, we have to stop by. It's a must. It does not disappoint. We go there so frequently, the owner knows us personally and anytime he sees us, he makes sure to welcome us. The inside of the place is a little outdated but that doesn't matter. The atmosphere is great too. There's not a bar which is good for families. Overall this place deserves five stars and to stay open forever. I highly recommend it. We love you Quatro's!
google avatar

Ed S.

Yelp
For so many years, my wife keeps telling me that Quatro's pizza in Carbondale is the best. When she was at SIU, this is the place to go. I agreed to finally go to Quatro's and see what the fuss is about. Overall, I did enjoy my pepperoni deep dish. The crust had a buttery taste and the cheese and pepperoni tasted delicious. The pizza sauce was good too.
google avatar

Clint F.

Yelp
Pizza was excellent and our server, Devon, was extremely friendly and helpful. It was a nice meal with the family and I would highly recommend. We got the deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, & extra cheese, as well as the Bianca Quatro. The red sauce is a little bit on the sweeter side. Crust is crispy on the bottom, tender on the inside. All around, just good pizza.

Rebeca K.

Yelp
This is the best pizza I've ever had. I'm from the south, so was excited to try deep dish further north. Did not disappoint!
google avatar

Seth T.

Yelp
Service was bad and the food had barely any smell. Had to park in an unknown area to pick up after being rudely told by the staff. Should be posted or told what to expect when going here. First time, and last time.
google avatar

Carl M.

Yelp
I am usually in Southern Illinois once a year, and I REFUSE to leave without eating Quatro's Pizza. It is the world's best. We got it to take out (the only option) and went to the tables in front of nearby Morris Library to eat. I love the crust, and the extra cheese which is put over the top of the toppings. I have eaten a lot of pizza, but this is the best you can get. Now, if only they had anchovies...

Kathleen A.

Yelp
This business makes a great pizza, they also have sandwiches, a very nice family environment if your looking for a family night out.
google avatar

Brittney L.

Yelp
I love their pizza. It's not too greasy to me and they have the right ratio of cheese and sauce. The ranch is special, I swear. It is so creamy! I always frequent this spot.
google avatar

Dennis A.

Yelp
I actually just ordered from this place today for the first time I've lived here for 15 years and never been here and I'm glad I did their pizza is the best pizza I've ever had I've read some reviews where they said the pizza wasn't as great but that was a year ago I think things have changed because this pizza is awesome the people are friendly the floors a little messy bathrooms are clean they have Amber Bock and other beers on tap after eating the pizza today for the first time I will have to say that I will come back as long as they stay consistent

Lew S.

Yelp
Always good pies. If you don't love deep pan, get the thin & crispy. I ask them to keep it in the oven a little longer- "well done". You've got to try the Bianca. Ask for a side of Pepperoncini Peppers. Or even ranch dressing as a dip. Rueben's are to die for! I came to Carbondale in 1981 & have been going to Quatro's regularly since.

Kami B.

Yelp
We were visiting from out of town. Ordered carry out. Good pizza. Could have used more toppings.

Lily B.

Yelp
The yellow cups are a Carbondale staple. The service and ambiance work well to create a relaxing environment.

Levi A.

Yelp
Best deep dish pizza I've ever had every time I go to Carbondale which is often I make it a tradition to go there
google avatar

Cameron J.

Yelp
Very solid pizza spot with creative options. My family really enjoyed the kick from the Buffalo chicken pizza, though I didn't try it. I really liked the pan pizza style- did not go for the deep dish. I liked the red sauce- super yummy. My favorite by far was the chicken pesto pizza- super creative and delicious. Would go back for the pizzas.
google avatar

Benjamin W.

Yelp
This was the worst food ever. There were spiderwebs everywhere. The walls was plastic and the spaghetti was shit it had cheese on top of it and the sides was burned but the cheese was ass. And the seats that were not supposed to move and just moved freely. And the Pizza was burned and soggy and you can't taste the pineapple and they def use canned pineapple. I was they dissatisfied with my order. And the lemonade was they sugary and it was def the powdered lemonade
google avatar

Yneng C.

Yelp
We found this place thru Yelp. Everyone is so nice and accommodated our large group with no hesitation. The food is delicious!
google avatar

Preston S.

Yelp
I just want to say this place is the undisputed superior pizza joint in Carbondale. It beats out primos, paglias, and all the pizza chains. The sandwiches and calzones are probably a solid 7.5/10. However the deep pan pizza here is a 9/10! It is absolutely delicious. The workers there are awesome too, super nice and friendly. This place is doing it right! Hopefully they stay in business for years to come!

Yelp
If you ever meet anyone who went to SIU for college sometime in the last two decades without a doubt they will remember Quatro's. At the very least they will remember the jingle for Quatro's phone number. I swear I knew Quatro's number by the time I was 8. It is a really catchy jingle. Whenever I'm back in the area I always make sure to stop and eat at Quatro's. It is a perfect stop before or after a basketball game. The places gets pretty crowded, so it is best to go in smaller groups and go at off times. The food is typically worth the wait though. I'm sure that all of their food is good, but do yourself a favor and order the pizza. It isn't deep dish, but it is thicker than typical pizza anywhere outside of Chicago. I love it.
